With cast iron wood stove for cozying up in front with a good book on chilly evening chalet is a perfect winter getaway. Because it sits very close to our tack room and riding area, chalet offers front-row seats to horse action. Self-catering or personal chef service are possible in the chalet.

Linden Tree Retreat & Ranch was founded by Yerkovich family. It all started with Bruce Yerkovich who had a vision for a new sustainable wilderness retreat. His dream was to gently hew it out of the untamed landscape, with thoughtfulness and honor for the land, people and Croatia's wildlife, a vision that he continues to develop to this day. The result is an authentic 'old west' ranch that is in complete harmony with the surroundings. Today with his wife Megi and partners he shares wonders of it all with like-minded people from all around the world.

People from all over the world venture here in search of peace, empty moments and unhindered contact with nature. Unique and authentic vacation in the magical landscape of the program offered by our ranch, leaves our guests breathless, and their reviews are composed only of praise, which makes us extremely happy. In this land of golden dreams and rolling pastures where horses graze freely and where meadows are filled with wildflowers, people, often unsuspected, encounter one thing they did not plan on meeting: themselves.

Linden Tree Retreat & Ranch continually strives to ensure that the tourism brought to the area benefits local community. The Retreat employs local men and women and, through various education-based naturalist and recreational offerings, contributes to the enhancement and global understanding of the Velebit Mountain Biosphere Reserve.
By staying at Linden Tree you actively contribute toward community development and nature conservation projects. Portion of our profit is set aside to fund these projects. Several projects have been successfully implemented in the last few years: “Fostering youth employment through development of rural tourism” and “Prosperity in diversity”, project in which elderly unemployed women in the community were trained in sustainable agriculture. As a result of both projects we now have plenty of tasty produce to offer to our guests at the ranch. The projects were so successful that we were asked by Croatian government to replicate both projects in other rural areas, which we are extremely proud of.
