Deer Haven Guest Cottage (VRBO 431820) consists of two bedrooms, the master suite has a queen size bed and a walk out patio, the guest bedroom has a queen size bed, one bathroom and a fully stocked kitchen/dining room with a living room and dish network. It is approximately 1300 sq ft. A roll a way bed is also available. The cottages are surrounded by gardens, a shrine and a reflecting pond. Due to allergies of some guests, animals are not allowed. I have a no pet policy.

Grizzly Rose Guest Cottage (VRBO 1139489) consists of two bedrooms with sitting areas. One bedroom has a queen size bed and a twin pull out bed, the other bedroom has a queen size bed. Each bedroom has dish network/DVD. There are two bathrooms and a fully stocked kitchen/dining area with a walkout veranda. Grizzly Rose guest cottage does not have a formal living room. It is approximately 800 Sq ft. Open WiFi on the property. Due to allergies of some guests, animals are not allowed. I have a no pet policy.

The Studio Apartment aka Bears Den (VRBO 1139560) is located in the main house and consists of a convenience kitchen/living area, queen size bed, one bathroom and sauna. It has its own private entrance. The property is surrounded by gardens, numerous ponds and places to relax. There are two medicine wheels for the enjoyment of the guests and a ceremonial Tipi. There is hiking and walking on the property. There is also the hammock arbor and star gazing lounge where you can be mesmerized by the galaxy. Due to allergies of some guests, animals are not allowed. I have a no pet policy.

The sky lounge sits in the back behind the medicine wheel. A place to lay and watch our magnificent night sky. Three twin beds and a bin with pillows and blankets are there for your convenience. A place to connect with the Galaxy. Envelope yourself with the milky way, falling stars and moving objects.

My property is eco-friendly. I recycle glass, plastic, paper, cardboard and cans. I try to conserve city water and appreciate guests being respectful.
I have a Tipi and encourage my guests to use it for their spiritual awakening or as a place to relax, expand, and be at peace . Smoking is allowed.
All of my Vacation Rentals are non-smoking however outside smoking is permitted. I prefer distancing from the Vacation Rentals.

My wife and I had a wonderful time staying at Michelle's place during our visit to the area to see Mesa Verde and Canyon of the Ancients. The place was extremely nice and the back area with waterfall/feature was so nice and relaxing. We could just sit for hours watching the hummingbirds feed. Michelle really went out of her way, too, to make our stay special. Highly recommend and will be staying again if we ever get back out that way.

Wonderful place to stay!

We loved everything about this accommodation. It was clean and beautifully decorated and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals in.We especially loved the beds outside where we could lie down and watch the stars at night. Michelle even brought us fresly baked bread and homemade preserves.

Beautiful Home

We absolutely loved our stay! The home is beautifully adorned with Native American art, which not only enhances the regional charm but also highlights its pristine condition. Unwinding by the gentle stream each evening was incredibly soothing—the perfect way to relax and rejuvenate. The location is truly spectacular, and Michelle was an exceptional host. We're already planning our next family visit!

Great stay with the family

We enjoyed staying in the two bedroom, one bath cottage, it was quiet but yet fun for our 9 year old. A little for all of us!

Relaxing and Restful

We had a Wonderful stay in the Deerhaven cottage. The host Michelle was so Incredibly inviting and helpful. We enjoyed the relaxing water feature and outside space behind the rental! Would definitely stay here again.

Deer Haven

This is a wonderful property--clean, well stocked with anything you might need (and then some). Great outside patio with a water garden and humming birds--a great place to sit and relax after a busy day. Comfortable and nicely decorated interior with lots of Native American art. Michelle is a super host with lots of area information. We very much enjoyed our stay here.

A Place for Peace and Tranquility

We stayed here on a visit to Mesa Verde. This was a lovely, relaxing place that was perfect for a rest after a long day of travel. The little fountain stream in the back was so peaceful. We sat on the back patio, listened to the running water and watched the sunset. We saw some cute bunnies and some deer. The place is clean and has everything you need. The host was accommodating and answered all our questions. Beautiful property and experience. A

Totally furnished, relaxed atmosphere

Michelle is friendly and welcoming. The house has absolutely everything you may need and then more. The property is very well kept and a short drive from Cortez where you can find stores and food. Extremely recommended.

Peaceful & Relaxing Respite

After busy days at nearby Mesa Verde NP, Deer Haven was a great place to kickback and relax! Homey and very clean, with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen to prepare any meal. Great Patio overlooking the garden complete with a babbling brook & hummingbird feeder and views of the nearby mountains. Michelle is a very helpful and friendly host, interested in making your stay a wonderful experience.

Very comfortable/feel good place!

Michelle is an amazing host. Her spaces are generous in size and feeling. It would be so easy to stay indefinitely. Will stay here again should we come this way, and can"t recommend higher! Deer Haven is perfect for a small family or 2 couples. The bathroom is very spacious, and having the kitchen, eating and living spaces was awesome, as well as all the outside areas to enjoy. Super host!!

A Peaceful Retreat

Quiet, clean, invigorating! Everything a vacation should be. Would have loved to spend much longer. Michelle was very helpful and informative. Facilities were well-stocked, clean, and uniquely decorated. There were many personal touches that put you in touch with nature and her heritage. Well worth the trip from Indianapolis and would love to do it again.

Fantastic Cottage

Very clean, fully equipped, beautiful landscaping, nicely decorated and a very accommodating host. A beautiful pond and waterfalls in the backyard. The cottage is newly constructed and very roomy. We felt at home. Only minutes from Cortez and a very quiet location. We will definitely stay again for our annual visit to Cortez. The only recommendation is to improve the lighting or signage at the entrance as it’s a bit tricky to find in the dark. Deer Haven Guest Cottage is worthy of more than 5-stars.

Perfect in every way!

I was fortunate enough to find this property, and I could not have been happier I did! The Deer Haven cottage was beautiful, clean, spacious and inviting. It had everything I needed, and was in just the right location to be able to visit Mesa Verde and many other incredible locations around Cortez. Michelle is the perfect owner - there when you need her, and happy to assist in any way. She is a very special person, and was a joy to meet and talk with. Her pride in her place shows clearly, and the grounds are lovely as well. This is a place that is more than special, it's magical and it will work it's relaxation magic on you when you stay there. I have been in many VRBO places, and this one will be one of my very favorites!!

I am from Santa Clara Pueblo, a direct descendent of the Ancient Puebloan Culture. I am very connected to Mesa Verde Country and am proud to call the four corners my home.

My parents initially owned this property and were relocated to another Indian reservation. They were both working with the BIA at Towaoc, Colorado. When they moved to Mescalero Apache Reservation in 1989, I purchased the property from them. Since then I have added and remodeled Ravensnest. In 1997, the Grizzly Rose Guest Cottage was built and I opened the Grizzly Roadhouse B&B. The summer of 2013, I remodeled the cottage. In May of 2014, construction began on Deer Haven Guest Cottage. It has been completed and is ready as a vacation rental.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Ravensnest is situated on the back side of Mesa Verde. We can view Mesa Verde to the east and the Sleeping Ute to the west. We are surrounded by mesas and mountains, with incredible hiking and walking in our backyard. I have created a very spiritual place with shrines and meditation gardens. My native culture and spirituality is reflected in my property and is vital to my creative being. Come and explore and be part of an amazing culture.
