Escape to White Ridge Lodge (formerly 5 star rated, Lone Star Lodge), a splendid, spacious log cabin in picturesque Fairplay, just 25 milesi south of Breckenridge. This recently renovated cabin has 4 bedrooms including 1 king, 1 queen, 1 queen with a twin bunk bed and 2 more twin bunk beds combined with a recreation room. This cozy retreat offers plenty of space for guests to unwind with living spaces on each of the 3 levels. The 3 bathrooms are stocked with all the essentials. There is a kitchen with a full complement of kitchen appliances, utensils and serving ware. The loft boasts an office desk, if you cannot escape work and comfortable living space with 55in smart TV. There is a rec room with 65in smart TV, air hockey, video games, darts and basketball toss game. Several puzzles, board games and playing cards are there to keep all ages busy. We have sleds to enjoy on the sloped area of the property. Additionally, two sofa beds and a crib are available to meet a variety of guestā€™s sleeping needs. The driveway can accommodate 2-4 cars. A clothes washer and dryer are onsite for convenience. Our place is equipped for both long or short stays to make your vacation to the mountains one to remember. Unfortunately our property has stairs and is not wheelchair accessible and we do not allow pets due to allergens, but if you have a well behaved, hypoallergenic pet who will be crated and not left alone when at the cabin please do inquire to see if we can make an exception. A pet deposit will be added into your charge. This is a veteran owned property.

The cabin is wonderful, we have started here twice now and will definitely return! It is setup perfect and is made for kids! Very comfortable and cozy!

Such a beautiful place! Plenty of room for all of our guests to make a home base for Jeeping for the weekend. Saw deer and moose from the deck! Epic!

Great house and property!

The house was beautiful, as was the property! The beds were comfortable and cozy, and the kids loved all the games. The view of the mountains was gorgeous, and we spotted several moose grazing out back! We cooked a number of meals there and appreciated the well equipped kitchen, as well as the grill. Highly recommend!

4th of July Stay

This lodge is so beautiful. Plenty of space and lots to do around the property. We were playing outside one night and saw a moose in the meadow which was amazing! Also has a great view of Mt Sherman! Went into Fairplay for fireworks on the 4th. Would definitely recommend booking a stay here.

We had a great experience at this rustic cabin. The property is secluded and peaceful, providing a true sense of privacy and a remote setting. The cabin was clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable throughout our stay. Communication with the host was excellent. They checked in with us and were responsive and accommodating when needed.

Beautiful Location and Great Hosts

The cabin was lovely and tucked away in Alma. Absolutely stunning. The owners checked in with us ahead of time, turned on the heat, and were available if we needed anything.

Beautiful cabin!! Amazing views!!

We came for a wedding at Sapphire point overlook yes due to weather conditions in and up with the wedding on the deck the cabin was beautiful. The views were amazing. It was a great weekend.

Amazing Mountain View Cabin

We stayed at this cabin for a long weekend get away. The property is amazing. Everything is super new and clean, our kids (5 & 6) absolutely loved the game room, the bunk beds, & sledding. We even spotted a Moose! The nearby town of Fairplay was lots of fun (make sure to check out the red barn shop)

Some people in our party ended up having to go to a hotel in town because the smell from air freshener chemicals in the house was so overwhelming. We've not had this problem at any property in years of staying at VRBOs so we wouldn't have thought to ask about this in advance. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils but we had to buy our own trash bags, dishwasher soap, and toilet paper because minimal supplies were available. We also bought laundry detergent and washed towels and bedding because they had been washed previously in such heavily scented detergent that they were unpleasant to use.

Beautiful Mountain Escape!

We had a wonderful stay at the White Ridge Lodge. The cabin is really beautiful, spacious and well equipped for families. There are plenty of games, art supplies, puzzles and of course loads of outside fun. The internet is also reliable and there are movies and old school Nitendo games, but we prefer to be 'offline' on vacation and the location really allows you to immerse yourself in nature. We were snowed in one day and the kids built a snow ramp for sleds and skiing right off the driveway. We also took night time, starlit hikes, and loved watching the snow swirl and fall. The location also is just a short drive from Brekenridge, Copper Mountain, Vail, etc. The roads can be tricky in the winter months but we managed and appreciated being away from towns and congestion. We highly recommend White Ridge Lodge!

We loved our stay at this quiet and thoughtfully appointed cabin! There is a dirt road with some washboarding to get up there but getting into the cabin was very easy. It was very clean, well decorated, and the views were stunning. Some things we were pleasantly surprised to find (small but usually missing from other places we've rented) included power strips by the beds, kleenex, some kitchen items like sugar, tea, and tin foil, LOTS of hooks throughout the cabin for hanging towels or snow gear, and a very responsive thermostat. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, silverware, and pots & pans. Wi-fi was great, we played some of the games provided, and watched a movie via streaming on the smart TV. Our kids loved the air hockey table and I loved how quiet the house and deck were! We were a short (dirt road) drive to Pennsylvania Mountain Trail which we did one day and on our way out of town hiked the Beaver Creek Trail (much easier, ha!) Our last night included listening to a bear wrestle with the bear proof trash can that must have had a prior guests bag in it (spoiler - the bear won), so take the trash instructions seriously! We visited right before school started for a quick escape and it was just what we needed. The host was very responsive. We highly recommend this gem of a cabin in the mountains!

Most places try and take it all the way up to 10/10. This goes to 11. The cabin is a pleasantly surprising mix of roomy, but very comfy. Even with a large group we had more than enough room, and yet it still had that cozy cabin vibe. The view is stunning. Standing on the balcony wearing my favorite hoodie, with my morning cup of Joe in the crisp autumn air, smelling the piney air and seeing the snow dusted mountain tops right across the valleyā€¦ this is so peak, I had a hard time coming back from this stay. I have asthma and very sensitive lungs/sinuses to smells and scents among other things, and had a perfect weekend - no issues. Itā€™s a clean place. No overpowering smells. Just very well-kept. The Starlink Wi-Fi worked flawlessly - when I had to connect over the weekend, it accomplished everything I needed and more. The hosts actually take care. They treat people staying at their cabin like actual guests. They reached out before, during and after to make sure we were well taken care of. I donā€™t know these folks, but the way they treated us was the way I would treat my best friendsā€™ family if they were staying at our cabin. My only hesitation leaving such a glowing review is that it may increase demand and make it harder for us to compete for a spot on subsequent visits. This place is incredible.

Por que o anfitriĆ£o escolheu essa propriedade

We love the semi-secluded feeling of being in the mountains, but close enough to modern conveniences. We can easily choose the Breckenridge experience, but can escape from the crowds there and enjoy nature and quiet here. We love to ski Breck, Keystone, Vail, Beaver Creek, Copper and Arapaho Basin so proximity is great without having to fight traffic and delays that often plague route 70 out of Denver. In the summer we love rafting, hiking and fishing with so many options nearby you would not be able to do it all in a lifetime.

We hope you fall in love with our cabin for the same reasons we did, views of Mt. Sherman, being backed up to a mountain meadow which is great for viewing moose, lots of living space on each of the 3 levels, large deck, kitchen large enough to prepare meals for family/friends onsite, comfortable bedding, mountain retreat decorative elements and large diameter log construction.
