The Townsman: Meriwether Room

Inspired by a sense of adventure and yet grounded with a modern, Southern elegance, the Meriwether Room, located on the second floor and is parking/alley facing, lets you know you've arrived at a highlight of your travels.

This exceptionally styled room is situated in Townsman Hotel. It is unlike your typical hotel. That's why we call it the 'unhotel'. Poised just above or in the middle of Charlottesville's bustling and historical Downtown Mall or the walking mall packed with restaurants, bars, shops, and more. It is in between Mudhouse Coffee and Rockfish Brewing Company, with no staff and no front desk, which feels like a well-kept secret right in the center of all the action. Instead of charging you for things you'll never use, we've pared ourselves down to the essentials: an incredible location; four uniquely-designed rooms; and great prices. Once you book with us, a personal code will be provided for access and all you have to do is show up. No check-in. No hassles. Along with an exclusive access to a nearby business and social space, as we've partnered with the Common House, which is free for our guests.
