Casa Tradicional Bellapais

My place is an old Turkish stone cottage in North Cyprus dating from the Ottoman period. 5 minutes walk from the old Bellapais Abbey. Private 2*6m pool, lovely and private garden with all flowered. 10 mins drive to the beach. Close to restaurants and bars, and village shops..

There are two double bedrooms, and terrace with sundeck upstairs. And in downstairs, there is living room and study room. Also large hall and kitchen is first floor.

If you rent a car we recommend a small one as the roads in Bellapais are very narrow. We would also like to remind you that if you do not rent a car, you will have to reach the house on a steep road.

I shall not be on hand to assist you, but always available by email or telephone.

Yes, our roads are a bit narrow. That's why I specifically mentioned that you should rent a small car. It's unfair to give such a low star rating just because the roads are narrow.

Peaceful Stay in Bellapais

We found the property to be as described and had a good week in this traditional Cypriot home within walking distance of all local amenities including lots of eateries and a shop. We spent a lot if time in the garden and the small swimming pool was good. Any questions were answered promptly by email. Reviews had suggested that cleanliness was lacking but we found this was definitely not a problem now. Bed comfortable and bathroom good. Enjoyed our stay in Bellapais.

Charming property in charming village

This traditional house is the perfect base for any trips in North Cyprus and provides stunning views of the sea and Bellapais Abbey. Cengiz is a great host who is always willing to help.

A traditional house in a magical village

For a traveller looking for authenticity, there could be no better accommodation than Abbey View, Bellapais. Within easy walking distance of all village facilities and the magnificent Abbey itself, with a helpful host arranging transport, car hire and all other requirements, this was a perfect choice.

Another wonderful stay

This is our third visit to this lovely traditional house. It's in a great location and has wonderful views of the sea and Bellapais Abbey. There are plenty of good restaurants within a very short walk. Cengiz is always on hand to deal with any queries and very quick to reply. Would highly recommend this beautiful house and we can't wait to book again.

Beautiful, Relaxing stay in Authentic Village

We had the most amazing stay in Bellapais. The pictures don’t do the property justice. Location was great - just 2 mins walk into the village and 10 min taxi into Kyrenia. The pool was beautiful, and the property extremely rustic. Communication couldn’t have been better - thank you so much. We will definitely be coming back.

Short break

The house was as decribed traditional. It had everyhing you needed and felt like home . We stayed 3 nights and the views were amazing. Plenty of places within walking distance to eat out. The host kept in touch with us to check all was good. We have had a wonderful break and look forward to returning.

Another Great Stay

We've just arrived home from another wonderful holiday. We've stayed at the house many times now and it feels like our home from home. The pool was perfect for days at home and we bbq'd in the evenings. Simple meals are possible in the kitchen too with the bonus of a dishwasher. We had the usual power outtages you expect in the village but had brought candles so were prepared. All issues sorted out by the owner swiftly with great communication. Back again hopefully. The We

Original old property in the centre of beautiful Bellapais. Excellent value for money. Extremely accommodating host who responded quickly to our questions and arranged taxi transfers for us from Larnaca and back to Paphos. Unfortunately, host not local to keep an eye on the cleanliness of the property (particularly the kitchen) Reassured that this would be addressed. If so, we would stay again.

Excellent choice for home and location; loved it!

This was a wonderful home in a beautiful village near Kyrenia in North Cyprus. The owner Cengiz was most helpful prior to and during our five night stay in his comfortable home in Bellapais. The home is very well equipped and has a beautiful shady garden with a pool. Lots of extras inside and out to make it feel homey and welcoming. Walking distance to the gorgeous abbey and cute shops and restaurants. Don’t miss the authentic Turkish towel shop! We enjoyed visiting local castles, the Kyrenia harbour and more. There is a large supermarket not far away. We were two couples and the house felt spacious and met our needs in every way. Highly recommended to visit this area and stay in this Traditional Turkish house! Thank you Cengiz! 👍👍👍

Charming and traditional

It’s a charming and well laid-out, authentic house, very conveniently situated for the village centre, yet quiet. We can imagine that it must be even more beautiful in the summer, when one could take advantage of the pool and overlooking garden. The lay-out is perfect. Cengiz was a very responsive host whenever we had any queries, providing more logs for the wood-burning stove when we asked. It smoked when it was windy, but was effective in heating the house. We think we sorted out the smoke problem on the last day, though. We hired a Ford Fiesta, which was perfect for the narrow, winding lane up the steep slope to the house; and you can back into the drive and park behind the gates.

The House was fine couldnt get the TV to work, plus we didnt have the password for the internet, so that neant we could contact the owner nor she contact us , we found pots and pans havent been cleaned property bits of food left in them, and as l mention to the onwer about this, she is paying ßomeone to clean but they are not, and l feel we should get her cleaning bill refuned, otherwise it was fine as we stayed there 8 years ago, and the neighbours remember us and they were very helpful thank you.

Dear Alan Unfortunately communication with you was very difficult. You asked me 3 times in one month to arrange a taxi through the VRBO website, each time I responded within half an hour, but you kept asking. A month before your trip, you wrote me a message on VRBO asking for an account number to send the accommodation fee. Since I did not want to bypass the VRBO system, I requested that all payments must be made through the system, otherwise cancel the reservation. You made the payment. The day before your stay, I sent you the Wi-Fi password via WhatApp. You thanked me in reply. Despite all this, you blamed me for not sending you the Wifi password. You claim that the TV is broken. If you had contacted me and given me this information, I would have explained that the TV was not broken and I would have shown it to you so that you could use it. There is much more to write. But I'm keeping them to myself. I'm very upset that you gave me less stars because of your own mistakes. I hope you will find a host like you want in your next stay. Regards

Bellapais village house

If you would like to holiday in a real mountain village house rather than a built for tourism modern property, then this is it. It has views of the abbey, the mountains and the sea. The host Cengiz could not be more helpful, making sure your stay is a happy one. You feel like part of village rather than one of the coach loads of tourists visiting the abbey. We visited in the February, but in the summer heat it must be wonderful to relax around the very private little swimming pool set into the mountain. Evenings spent in the local restaurants, that are open even in winter. Access to the property is via a very steep and narrow road so bear this mind if you have mobility problems. However it is accessable by car and has private parking. We two 75 year olds had no problems with access on foot or car it was all part of the charm. Lovely holiday in a lovely place with a great owner.

We are so glad that we chose this house. It really is beautiful. The owner sent us clear photograph instructions as to how to find the property as it's not easy to find. If you're hiring a car, be sure to hire a really small one or you won't be able to drive up to that property. You will need to walk up the hill. The kitchen is large and well appointed. The living room does have a television but it is not connected to english-speaking channels. However there is an HDMI cable so you can connect your laptop and stream movies that way. The only small downside to the ground floor is that there is no air conditioning. Where is a stand fan but that's all. It didn't stop us from enjoying the house however! The bedrooms are a good size, both have air conditioning, and the beds are comfortable. There is a toddler bed and a folded up travel cot in the corner of the double bedroom which is very useful for people coming with small children. The bathroom is really nice and there is a washing machine in the bathroom. Washing powder was provided, as were dishwasher tablets for the dishwasher. We loved the private pool. It is clean and a good size even though it might sound small it wasn't. Bellapais is a beautiful village. We enjoyed exploring the shops and restaurants. The sports bar has really delicious fresh juice and the best kebabs we have ever had! The abbey is really beautiful and you can see it from the house. We highly recommend this amazing home from home.

Perfection

We had an amazing 14 night stay in this beautiful Villa in a beautiful setting/location! You have everything you need within a walking distance of not even 5 minutes. Bellapais have everything from bars/restaurants, shops, and the stunning bellapais abbey. We loved the traditional breakfast and hosts at the sports bar opposite the abbey. The home itself was traditional and incredibly clean, spacious and comfortable for all 6 of us, 2 being older children, we all had plenty enough space to either do our own thing or be together within the property. There is a roof terrace that you can all use either together or privately per bedroom and both have views of the mountains. Both bedrooms and the bathroom have julliette type balconies to the front of the property with views of the village, Bellapais abbey and the sea which at night are incomparable, The garden has an undercover area if you need some shade or outdoor dining. The beautiful pool is set up above this area and is completely private for swimming and sunbathing. Air con in Both rooms worked a treat for hot nights!! And all the mentioned appliances worked perfectly including the WiFi. We also had ample room on the large drive for our hire vehicle! Would we stay again? Absolutely!!!!! The host is always on hand via watsapp for anything you need including recommendations. If you are wanting a traditional homely experience look no further!! We hope there is availability on our next visit!!

Idyllisches und autentisches türkisches Dorfhaus

Wir haben ein ruhiges Ferienhaus mit Privatsphäre gesucht und dieses beim wirklich aussergwöhlich hilfsbereiten Vermieter Cengiz gefunden. Das Haus liegt am Berghang und bietet auf der Rückseite ausreichend schattige Plätze vor der heißen Sonne Zyperns. Der Ausblicke aus den Fenstern in Richtung Meer ist phantastisch. Wir hatten hier wunderschöne Grillabende. Die Nachbarn, denen man hin und wieder auf der Straße begegnet, -die man aber sehr selten sieht- sind überaus freundlich. Sämtliche Geräte haben einwandfrei funktioniert und sind in sehr gutem Zustand. Die Betten groß und bequem und vor allem kühl. Wir haben nach den ersten Tagen keine Klimanlage mehr gebraucht. Der Pool und der Liegebereich sind klein aber vollkommen ausreichend. Wir haben aber auch einige Tage am nahegelegenen Turtle Beach verbracht. Die Einrichtung ist zweckmäßig und nicht gerade modern aber es hat einen urigen und autentischen Charme. Genau wie auf den Bildern angezigt. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Lage des Hauses ist hervorragend und auch romantisch. Gute Lokale liegen fußläufig "ums Eck". Wir haben aufgrund der Nähe oft mal schnell ein gemütliches "Bierchen" getrunken und dabei das Dorfleben an uns vorbeiziehen lassen. Was man hervorheben muss, ist die Hilfsbereitschaft des Vermieters. Er hat für uns die Taxifahrt von Paphos ins Dorf organisiert. Er hat uns den Mietwagen organisiert. Er hat sich erkundigt, ob alles in Ordung ist. Besser geht es nicht. Tausend Dank Cengiz für Alles!!!

A wonderful experience

I must say if your looking for a very relaxing stay in Northern Cyprus, I couldn't recommend this property any higher, the location is ideal and the property is very comfortable and private, with a lovely pool, everything you could possibly need for a great break. We have been fortunate enough to be able to visit the island on many occasions previously but always in a hotel, this was a new experience, and we loved it, so much more relaxing, A truly wonderful time, done at our pace, I would highly recommend this property, Many thanks again to Cengiz Brian & Kathryn Patullo

Wonderful To Be Back

We haven't been able to visit Bellapais since the Pandemic, so it was fabulous to be back. The house is in a perfect position for walking to the local restaurants and bars for a drink or for dinner. Bella Moon is still as fabulous as ever. The pool is cleaned regularly and was lovely to cool down in when the sun got a bit much. The beaches are a short drive away and the supermarkets etc are easy to reach. We would recommend visiting the charity SPOT if you stay here, to release some baby turtles. It is a lovely thing to do. The owner of the house is really helpful and assists quickly with any issues. We hope to be back soon.
