The Living/Dining area has a normal loveseat, a 50" smart TV, a bistro-style dining table for 2, and a mini-split A/C/ w/ Heat. The bathroom has a custom walk-in shower w/ a multi-head shower panel. The kitchen has many modern features. The bedroom has a queen bed. Finally, a lovely outdoor area with seating, an infrared sauna, and a Level 2 Charger for a Tesla/EV.

Welcome to our Casita in the Clouds. This is a Modern, Rustic, Industrial mountain getaway, newly built and finally completed at the start of 2025, and is located about 6 miles past Cloudcroft between Cloudcroft and Mayhill. This Casita is ideal for "two adults" who seek to escape the demanding world of finance and the fast-paced life.

Note: All-wheel drive or four-wheel drive is required during the winter months in this area, as NMDOT does not plow the streets daily. We do not refund because guests can not access the Casita due to snow or not having the proper vehicle for the winter months.

We do not allow pets of any kind. Only service animals.

Service Animals:

We are happy to host you and your service animal. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), we may legally ask the following questions:

Is the service animal required because of a disability?

What work or task has the service animal been trained to perform?

We do not charge extra fees or deposits for service animals. However, guests are liable for any damage caused by the service animal or its handler.

Please note:

Service animals must remain under control at all times (leashed, harnessed, or controlled via voice or signal).

Service animals may not be left alone in the casita at any time.

If we discover a guest has misrepresented a pet as a service animal, we reserve the right to:

Seek financial restitution

Report the violation to the appropriate authorities

Evict the guest(s) without refund for any unused nights

"No SERVICE PETS are allowed on the furniture, cabinets, or bed." Please make sure to clean up after your pets. Note: there are dogs, cats, and the local wildlife in the area, and in the fenced yard behind the casita.

Due to fire restrictions in our area, there is no use of an outdoor grill at this time.

There is NO SMOKING OR VAPING of any kind in this Casita or on the property right outside of this Casita. If you are a smoker, you can smoke in your vehicle, but read the note. (NOTE: If you are a smoker, sometimes smoke is on clothes, etc. If we detect smoke in the Casita, it will require us to ozone the Casita, and we will charge you a fee of $200 for the extra cleaning services if we detect smoke. The hosts have allergies to smoking of any kind and are very sensitive to it. So we highly recommend booking another Vrbo if you are a heavy smoker.

Just minutes away from skiing, tubing, hiking, and mountain biking routes. The Casita is fully equipped and offers adults, from young to the young at heart, a place for relaxation, adventure, and entertainment.

The bedroom has a vibrating massage queen bed with a medium-soft mattress for your back and body, with a comfortable comforter and an optional grounding blanket (optional feather-down comforter available in the linen cabinet). The Headboard and nightstand have device charging stations with plenty of outlets and USB cables for your devices, while the linen cabinet with closet space for clothing includes an iron, extra eco-friendly high thread count linens, and a local artist display case with art pieces from local artists for sale

The bathroom has a custom lighted walk-in shower with multi-head shower panel, a glass door, and a tiki shower seat with storage, along with a full LED lighted bathroom on individual switches and an HVL, custom artistic cabinet with bowl sink, a large vanity mirror, and a lighted anti-stream soft-close medicine cabinet with device plug and charging outlets.

The Living/Dining area hosts a normal loveseat, 180° swiveling 50-inch super high definition 4K LED smart TV w/ optional 3D glasses. Includes a sound bar, and in the dining area, a bistro-style dining table seating for two. Under the guest books is a coat and shoe area. Included is a Minisplit A/C w/ heat, an optional central propane heater, and the casita has multiple eco-friendly DC ceiling fans. The entire house is on a water softener. The guest signing area has an iPad with QR codes (to scan with your phone or device) for links to the listing, the internet password, and videos on how some of the appliances work in the Casita. (The internet password and house information/rules are also listed in the guest books, in English and in Spanish)

The kitchen has a multi-functioning kitchen sink, with a water filter, an induction two-burner countertop stove, a pot filler, and a full-capacity dishwasher. The kitchen includes all utensils and dinnerware, with induction-style pans and pots. Also includes a full convection air fryer, a 1100-watt microwave, a wine cooler, and a wine/mixed drink service set.

Outside, you will find a large parking area, a 50-amp Tesla charger with multiple EV adapters for your electric vehicle needs, and an outdoor entertainment area surrounded by a privacy fence (no gate, open to the front of the casita) that includes 2 lounge chairs, an infrared sauna, and an outdoor table. On the porch are ski racks, wall-mounted two ski holders, and some decorations.

NOTE:

Again, we can not stress this enough. All-wheel drive or four-wheel drive is required during the winter months in this area if there is snow on the ground, as NMDOT does not plow the streets daily. We do not refund because guests can not access the Casita due to snow or not having the proper vehicle during the winter months.

Snow in the outdoor entertainment area during the winter months is very common. The host does not remove snow; guests are responsible for snow removal if access to these areas is required. Also, water lines can freeze during extreme cold temperatures and/or possible power outages. The hosts have taken normal precautions to prevent freezing, and a generator is on the property that the host can start during power outages (provided the host is there to start the generator), but be aware that power outages, loss of water, and/or freezing pipes do happen in rural areas. Please get in touch with the hosts immediately if guests have no water or power, and the hosts will do what they can to help. The hosts may ask guests to "drip the faucets"; if so, please follow the host's instructions. The hosts are not responsible for situations beyond their control and do not offer refunds due to these rare situations.

We are not responsible for you getting stuck in the snow or for snow removal. There will be snow and/or ice on the ground and possibly in the outdoor area. So be prepared for snow during the winter months.

NOTICE:
ALL of our guests shall have a verified legal ID with Vrbo, "A Guest ID", prior to booking the Casita in the Clouds, and have at least been a member with Vrbo for one (1) year before booking the Casita in the Clouds. We require this for security purposes to protect our property. We have the right to refuse service to anyone.

Guest access
Guests have full access to the enclosed yard with tables, lounge chairs, and sauna. A large gravel parking lot directly in front of the Casita.

If you have an Electric Vehicle. The 48-amp 220V Stage 2 EV Charger is attached to the front of the Casita and has a Tesla adapter for Tesla models: Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y, and any EV using the North American Charging Standard (NACS). The host has also provided multiple EV adapters available that guests have access to, located in a drawer inside the Casita.

NOTE:

You can only access the EV Charger with a special "Guest EV Access Card." Let the host know you will be using your EV, and the access card will be in the Casita for you to use during your stay.

(Please leave the access card inside the casita. Do not take the access card with you at any time.)

Temperature control:

This Casita is heated and cooled by a MiniSplit and ceiling fans. Note: the furnace is shut down during summer and spring. You are more than welcome to crack a window if you want. We do ask that you DO NOT turn the furnace to an extremely high temperature, as it can cause the furnace's pilot light to go out, possibly damage the furnace, or even worse, cause harm to guests or the property. (When in winter) If the furnace's pilot light goes out, please contact the host(s) immediately, and we will do our best to come re-light it for you. If we are not available, be patient, and we will be there as soon as possible. Use the electric minisplit and heater in the meantime.

Personal note:

This home is in the Sacramento Mountains; its approximate elevation is 7,860' above sea level, and it has cooler weather here at higher altitudes. We understand that not everyone is accustomed to higher altitudes and weather patterns in the mountains. It can get cold quickly; it can rain or even snow without notice. So please dress accordingly and bring your warmer clothing for nighttime. Please do not turn the minisplit up above 79ºF.

Also, emergency information and the Casita's address are located in the guest information area on a picture frame. Always call 911 first in the case of a severe emergency, then the host.
