The location of the property was good—close to the lake and beach, although it was about a 30-minute drive to Virginia Beach. The check-in process was easy, the property was generally clean, parking was convenient, and having TVs in all the rooms was a nice feature.Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by several serious issues. The AC units were installed only about three feet above the floor and were extremely loud. When they were running, it was difficult for anyone in the room to hear or have a normal conversation. The alternative was essentially to turn off the AC and deal with the heat, which made for a very uncomfortable stay.More concerning was the way the AC units were installed in the windows. They appeared to be held in place with plastic panels on the sides, and the setup did not feel secure. It gave us serious concerns about the security of the property and whether someone could potentially gain entry through the windows. Because of this, we did not feel comfortable leaving our belongings unattended or sleeping there.There were also some smaller issues. We asked about having the propane tank filled, but this was apparently not included. A hair dryer was also not provided, despite our expectation that it would be included among the amenities. These are relatively minor things compare
