Lovely North Hero Location

Perched on a bluff, overlooking the Inland Sea of Lake Champlain, "Island View" cottage is east facing with a 180 degree view north to Canada and south to the Green Mountains. Stairs lead to a shale beach with private dock. Great water for swimming, fishing and boating.
You'll love staying at our cottage! Island View has an open
floor plan, 2 bedrooms with a queen in one and 2 twins in the other. Altogether, the cottage sleeps four comfortably. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan and french doors that open onto a screened porch facing the lake. Plenty of windows for those lake breezes, fully equipped kitchen, spacious bathroom with tile shower, washer/dryer, municipal water. Lovely, private outside shower, wifi, Smart TV, outdoor grill and picnic table overlooking the spacious lawn, gardens and children's play area. Our cottage is equipped with a heat pump which provides both heat and air conditioning. We also have a level 2 EV charger, available upon request.
The cottage is two miles to the center of North Hero where you will find two excellent restaurants and the amazing Hero's Welcome General Store, local Farmer's Markets, galleries and craft shops. This is the perfect area for biking, kayaking, fishing and just kicking back. 40 minutes to Burlington and 60 minutes to Montreal and Stowe.

The cottage has all the comforts of home. The well equipped kitchen enabled us to cook wonderful meals. We took long walks along the shore of Lake Champlain and had the treat of seeing a full rainbow. Thank you for sharing this idyllic spot with us."

Great stay!

We really enjoyed our time at this property. Mary and John were the perfect hosts, very accommodating and friendly. The cottage was immaculate, beautifully appointed, and had all the things you would need to feel at home. We highly recommend this vacation spot!

The perfect lake cottage

Beautiful, clean, and cozy cottage with breathtaking views of Lake Champlain! The host Mary is kind, accommodating, and provides everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Highly recommend this gem, would love to return someday!

Lovely peaceful cottage on the Lake Champlain

This cute, cozy cottage is perfect and had everything we need for a relaxing stay on the island. The hosts, who live on the property, were friendly, helpful, and kind. It was a short drive to lots of activities and restaurants.

Wonderful Vacation Cottage

Lake Champlain Beauty

This little camp was a wonderful peaceful retreat on Lake Champlain! Everything you need was there- lake view- great swimming- quiet and a great screened in porch for enjoying your morning coffee and bagel😀. We look forward to coming back again!

Lake Champlain vacation

We were very impressed with everything about the cottage. It was extremely clean and well organized with everything we needed. The porches were fantastic for relaxing after dark without the bugs. The hosts were very accommodating and left many tips for things to do in the area. We had a great stay.

Great Place

Had a great week at North Hero island. Our owners, Bernie and John were very welcoming and the cottage is just the right size. Very impressed with the cottages efficiency! The lake is beautiful and the huge float made my daughter's day. Thanks for a great vacation.

Beautiful and Peaceful Getaway

The perfect house for 2-4 people. Beautiful setting right on the lake. Enjoyed the screened in porch for enjoying the evenings and watching fireflies. The house has everything you need and is very clean and well maintained. Mary is a very good host and easy to communicate with. We will definitely be booking again next time we are out in Vermont!

Would definitely stay here again!

The pictures don't do it justice - this cottage sits on a beautiful property with great views of & great access to the lake! Perfect for a small family, as there is a large yard for the kids to play, including swings. You can easily set up beach chairs on the stone beach at the lake. Enjoyed using the homeowner's kayak & water trampoline! Would highly recommend staying at this property!

Lovely Second Stay

This was my second visit to Island View cottage. I first visited with a friend back in Sept 2018 and never forgot how wonderful the cottage, hosts and location were. When I was looking for a place to spend time with my mom and cousins I knew this was the perfect spot. We had a great time and everything was as great as I remembered. I look forward to returning sometime in the future.

Wonderful stay

We were extremely pleased with the cottage! It was exactly as pictured - even better. It was very clean and had all the amenities you could think of. We spent many hours sitting in the screened-in porch enjoying the wonderful view of both the beautiful yard and the lake. Mary and John, the owners, live next door on the same property and were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We look forward to returning someday

Lovely Lake Cottage

Simply put, Island View Cottage is just perfect! The views of Lake Champlain are wonderful, the location is quiet and peaceful, yet handy to the bike trail, the General Store and other necessities. The cottage itself is quite comfortable and well equipped. We loved sitting out on the screened porch to have our coffee or to read and relax most of all. Mary, the owner, was so very friendly and helpful, answering any questions we had. We highly recommend Island View Cottage!

Great vacation!

Everything was as listed. Mary and John were very helpful, pleasant, and responsive hosts. The cottage itself was very comfortable and well thought-out. The beds were comfortable, and the shower was great -- two very important things to me in a rental. There's a lot to do in the area. I would recommend this cottage to just about everyone, whether you're looking for a quiet week by the lake, sight-seeing, fishing, hiking, and/or biking. Enjoy!

Charming home on lake Champlain!

The house was perfect for a family of four. They utilized all space available. It worked out great for a family of 4. We loved the screened in porches and the well landscaped yard. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could possibly need. We loved the outdoor shower! Lake Champlain did not disappoint. We caught many different types of fish and enjoyed exploring the little islands. We also found at the gas station to the north makes homemade fudge! Thursdays is the best day to go. Overall I would recommend this cottage for anyone. Mary and John were great in helping with the litte things, and just sent the nicest messages or checked in to make sure we were good!

Amazing Girl's Weekend on Lake Champlain

This cottage was perfect for a a girls weekend away. Mary and John thought of everything when they built and decorated it. Our favorite part was relaxing on the large screen porch looking out at the lake. The weather was picture perfect and we were able to leave the french doors open all weekend to enjoy the fresh air and sounds of nature. North Hero is a quiet community so plan to come and relax and enjoy the scenery. Amazing sunrises over the lake if you're a morning person (I am). We enjoyed cocktails at the Pier Bar at North Hero House as well as a wine tasting and snacks at Snow Farm Vineyard. We ventured over to Plattsburgh, NY on the ferry for dinner one night which was a fun experience. And of course we were lucky enough to have great September weather to take a dip in the lake right at the cottage. Looking forward to a return trip!

The cottage was immaculate and the craftsmanship superb with so many additional touches. Wonderfully bright and airy with the multiple french patio doors, windows and screened porches all overlooking the gardens and lake. It was a short stay for us which didn't allow for the use of the kayaks. We primarily biked and there was a covered area to store them. The kitchen is fully stocked, thinking of everything. It was a pleasure meeting Mary and John. I highly recommend reserving your get away here.

This is one of the nicest properties we've ever visited! Not only are Mary and John lovely and kind hosts, they have created a beautiful space that is well thought-out, clean, and comfortable. The cabin is perfect for a small family. The grounds are so pretty with easy access to the lake/dock down sturdy stairs. We kayaked and swam and saw all kinds of wildlife. Don't hesitate - this IS the spot!

This is an immaculate cottage with plenty of room for 4 adults. Owners updates take full advantage of every inch of space (albeit lacking in any closet) ..extra special are the French doors in each of the 2 bedrooms with adjoining and private screened porch. Perfect location close to family staying at nearby inn. Generous host, great communication. We had a wonderfully relaxing stay :)

Beautiful, well appointed, cottage!

We absolutely loved our stay here at Island View cottage. The location was off the beaten path which we liked. The cottage was spotless and very comfortable. The property is well cared for and there are steps going down to the lake. Unfortunately, we weren't able to swim since it rained most of our stay---but this gives us an excuse to go back! Getting back to inside the cottage, we were very happy with the well appointed kitchen, the shower pressure was good and the bed was comfortable. The couch was comfortable too. Mary and John, the owners are the nicest people and are very knowledgeable about the area. They live on the premises and were quick to respond to any of our questions or needs. We definitely want to come back next year!

Amazing waterfront cottage

Perfect getaway

This is a little gem in North Hero. The accommodations were excellent. It is updated, immaculate and very nicely decorated. You are provided with everything that you need for your stay except food and personal things. The beach is very clean but rocky. I would encourage wearing water shoes. The kayaks and paddleboard were so much fun! The hosts were very kind and attentive but also gave us our privacy.
