The Double Eagle Boat Cabin On Land

Featured on the Travel Channel & HGTV.
Stay on the Double Eagle, a fully renovated 75 ft wooden Gulf Shrimp Boat converted to a vacation rental. Three levels with three decks overlooking the Kachemak Bay, volcanoes, mountains, glaciers and the Homer Spit. Spacious living room, 2.5 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, a full kitchen, internet, Smart TV’s, and original bow wheelhouse. Sleeps up to six. The decks offer panorama views of the Bay for dining and relaxing. Large Parking area adjacent to the boat. A few stairs going up to the first deck, the about 12 stairs inside to the top deck and 12 steps inside to the lower level. This old wooden boat may on occasion remind you of smells of a boat, but not always, it’s still a mystery to us after 20 years in operation. But if you are highly sensitive to smells it may not be for you, even though it may only be on occasion. Conveniently locate to downtown Homer about 5 min and the Homer Spit about 17 min.

A must do Homer experience

We enjoyed our stay here so much. The property itself is as fantastic as it looks in pictures. There are lots of thoughtful extras throughout. And the owners are very friendly & accessible. I would 100% recommend staying here if you can.

The best accomodation / view / location / experience i have found in 30 years of travelling around the world. Homer Alaska is a must do and the Double Eagle accomodation is an experience we will never forget. Just Fantastic.

We had a great time here. The space is small and the floors are slanted but that is part of the charm of this cabin. We loved it! They have a photo book of how they got the place moved and built into a cabin which is really neat. The view is to die for and I wouldn’t change a thing about our stay. The hosts were very responsive when needed.

I wish I could give it more than 5 stars

This place has breath taking views and is one of the most unique places you could stay. Karen was so accommodating and made this experience for my family one of a kind. You will you not find an experience like this anywhere in Homer let alone most of the world. The time we had there will be memories forever. Cannot wait to comeback.

Awesome property

Our family had a fabulous stay in this unique property. The location was great - it felt secluded but with easy access to Homer and The Spit. The views were incredible and the boat had all we needed for a comfortable stay. We are all short (under 5'9") and had no issues, but we did note the ceiling heights might be less comfortable for a tall family. We would definitely stay again.

Fantastic Homer Getaway

We celebrated my husband's birthday with this wonderful stay on the Double Eagle. The view over the bay was amazing. Every detail attended to. Lovely beds. Perfect location. Cute and clean as can be. Hosts had great communication. Looking forward to going back.

Early May Stay

We had a wonderful time. Karen was incredibly accommodating and helpful. We felt like we were being looked after. The place was spectacular on the rainy/cloudy days, and breathtaking on the clear days. We will definitely be staying at the Double Eagle again!

The views from the boat were priceless. We didn’t go out for dinner at all instead brought food back to enjoy the views each night. We already booked for next year!

Double Eagle is a unique home with spectacular views. We enjoyed watching the eagles soar above the decks and land in the nest below. The beds were very comfortable

Alaska Adventures 2022

This property was very nice. Very clean, plenty of amenities, lots of room, beautiful view. The owners were quite easy to contact and had plenty of useful suggestions for restaurants, game and birdwatching. We would stay there again. Have recommended it to many of our friends and family. A well cared for accommodation.

Mom Adventure with 3 adult children

This stay was more than amazing and I cant wait to return. I brought my 3 adult children to Alaska for the trip of a lifetime and it absolutely was. The view from our unique lodging was perfect. I always look for fun and unique places to stay and this was perfect. The location was private yet close to everything. My only regret was not being able to stay longer.

Amazing

We had a delightful stay on "the ship." We were looking for something different that provided space for my dad, me and a teen. It was perfect!!! We had a great vacation, caught a lot of fish, and the great accommodations were a huge part of it! Got great directions, provided contact if we need anything, and couldn't have asked for anything more.

Unique Option with Great View!

Surprised my son and his friend (recent high school graduates) with this boat. Perfectly perched on the bluff overlooking the bay & spit. This was a great way to kick off our week in Alaska. & yes the eagles soared as we ate on the deck - awesome!

Unique experience

My granddaughter and I spent 4 nights at the Double Eagle and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The ocean views from each room were stunning both morning and night. The owners provided everything you could ever want in a rental and were very helpful with the check in and directions. This unique boat lodging helped make our visit to Homer very memorable. What a hidden gem!

Unique Experience

I travel to many places and this place and location is now one of my favorites. This place (boat) is my idea of a perfect vacation home and destination. Every detail is thought of, not only its location with gorgeous views, but also all the extras. This 70’ shrimp boat is spacious, has a fireplace to warm things up, or spacious decks to enjoy the sun and watch the fishing boats go by.

Just an unbelievable experience...and what a great location! Thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay at the Double Eagle.
