If not, you owe it to yourself to spend a weekend or a week at this house on Burnt Mountain in Dawson County.

This 3 bedroom 3Ā½ bath Burnt Mountain house in Georgia is situated on one of the southern most ridges of the Blue Ridge Mountains making it the closest rental to the metropolitan Atlanta area. From the three story decks, enjoy a spectacular 120 degree long view of Amicalola Falls, Mount Yonah in Lumpkin, County, and other mountains up to 50 miles away on a clear day. Located in northern Dawson County, this house is approximately 6 miles from Amicalola Falls State Park and Burtā€™s Pumpkin Farm. Nearby towns include Dahlonega, site of the nationā€™s first gold rush; Jasper, located in the Georgia Marble Belt; Ellijay, the apple capital of Georgia; Blue Ridge, with its scenic railway, and Dawsonville, famous for racing drivers and moonshine. Attractions include rafting on the Chestatee, Etowah, Amicalola, and Coosawattee rivers, hunting and fishing, biking, and hiking. Situated on Burnt Mountain this is a favorite site for bicyclist to enjoy the challenges of the climbing mountain roads. Motorcyclist will enjoy being headquartered in the mountains for easy day trips throughout North Georgia. This house is also in close proximity to the Appalachian Trail, the AT approach trail, the Benton MacKaye Trail, and the Hike Inn Trail, making it an ideal base for day hikes.

It was a great stay, perfect location. The only problem was the lady bugs and spiders. Also, would be nice to see in the binder with recommendations food, restaurant locations added especially due to distance. If needed, would return.

I've stayed here several times. Always very clean. Beautiful mountain view. Gas fireplace makes for a cozy evening. Close to Amicalola state park. Highly recommend!

The house was fantastic! It was very clean, had everything we needed, plenty of space and the best view ever!! Our family really enjoyed our weekend here! We will definitely come back, not just for the view but for the fantastic home.

Beautiful house and very comforting. The view from the main balcony is partially blocked by the trees now. But the master balcony has a great view. All in all it was a great place for us and will definitely consider coming back again.

Very nice deck. Very large master bedroom with a great view.View from lower decks obscured by recently grown up bushes and trees. Thus the photo is not quite accurate.Disappointed the gas grill was very greasy and not functional.

Unfortunately, due to the rain/fog we didnā€™t get to see too much of the view, but what we did see was spectacular! The house was nice and clean! We had enough space as a family of 8 to all be comfortable. We cooked almost every meal there. One thing that could be mentioned is that the internet doesnā€™t work/is so very spotty that it might as well not work. No fault to the owner/manager, but it could pose a problem for some people.

Beautiful property spectacular views from all three levels, master suite has best views to horizon. Place was meticulously clean. Will be returning in the future to this same property. Never used kitchen but it is fully outfitted. Scenic drive from place to Jasper.

Getaway time in the Mountains

Overall we enjoyed out stay at the Amicalola Vista House. The house is nice and spacious and was very clean. There were 5 adults in our party and the home was roomy for us. However there were a few things that could use some attention. We cooked our meals during our stay and some of the pots and baking sheets really need to be replaced. Also there is no salad bowl or mixing bowls. I would also recommend that there be more silverware added. There is a very limited amount.The patio furniture on all of the decks was in need of repair or replacing. The TV in the main floor area was the only TV that you could watch anything on. There was a TV in the primary bedroom, but it could not access anything because it was not connected to WiFi. There didn't seem to be any WiFi available at all. Thankfully this was not a huge problem for us or the other guest although it was an inconvenience.There are no other TVs in the other bedrooms The fireplace was very nice and cozy. The beds were comfortable and we all slept well. So overall our party did enjoy our stay and the views from the decks are amazing. We all are game players and the dining table is great for not only eating meals together at, but also playing games. Everyone said that they would stay here again. Hopefully next stay there will be some new deck furniture that would be safe to sit in to admire that wonderful view.

I would stay here again. The views are so beautiful.

Mountain house

Awesome view, House is okay not a 5 star,but price fair for the view this house has. Road to house not bad at all. 3 Storyā€™s so there is stairs to go up and down.Very quiet and private, No fire pit outside and no yard area for kid to play and the gas grill was useless rusty out. Bottom floor of house had a little musty smell. But overall not a bad house for the price.

Million Dollar View

Definitely we be planning a trip back to this house! You can not explain how amazing the view is...House was very comfortable and clean. Perfect for 3 - 4 couples. Host was very easy to work with and responded quickly to any questions I had. Definitely recommend!

Awesome Views!

The property was fantastic. Clean, spacious, convenient to towns, hiking, activities for all ages and great vistas for sunrises,(at the house) to sunsets (an overlook about 2 miles away). Would recommend this place to anyone.

Fabulous "not-so-little" getaway

This is a wonderful property with a million-dollar view of the wooden hills as far as our eyes can see. The place is very well-maintained and it is spacious enough to accommodate our 3 families. Forewarning to those with small children, there are 2 big staircases in the house. We had to maneuver some sort of barrier so that our 1 year old stayed safe. We would definitely come back again!
