The light this photo has been retouched with would be impossible to achieve in this underground apartment. My stay ended two weeks ago as of the date that I write this rating, and VRBO states that the host is still unresponsive about the problems associated with my stay. The biggest were: no heat, electricity went out for 1/2 of apt, no working smoke detector, 1/2 of faucet broken, floor was filthy with dirt, debris and glitter confetti, one bed fell apart by leaning on it, and toilet only flushed intermittently. This IS an old building, so some forgiveness might be in order since this was marketed as a "budget" stay. However heat, electricity, and a reliably-flushing toilet in the winter in Seattle are non-negotiable. Vrbo seems unconcerned about this type of rental being listed under their name, as they seem to be waiting to hear from the non-responsive host before making appropriate amends.

Nice apartment, great stay and transport to and from. The only things it was missing is microwave; extra fan otherwise great my experience with VRBO has been very good and I’ll continue to book .

This property is for a very specific purpose: it is a conveniently located crash pad. Listing it as a budget 3 bedroom is a stretch to say the least. I am not certain any of those rooms can legally be called bedrooms based on fire code.Pros: VERY convenient location - 0.25 miles from tons of cafes and restaurants, 1ish miles from Pike's Market, you can tell they put extra thought into making it nicer with upgraded decor, and the host is very responsive, rooms stay very dark if you need to sleep in. Those saying the area isn't the best haven't lived in a city, there are much nicer buildings on the same block, that's just how it goes. Cons: VERY short ceilings in some places, anyone over 5'8" has to duck in the hallway and the small room with the tulip painting cannot be higher than 5'6" at it's highest point as I was the only one of my party who could stand up fully in there. The beds in 2 of the rooms are so close to the wall that you really just launch yourself into them vs walking around. You definitely can't get a vacuum around the sides so I would question how clean the floor is. Listing says sleeps 7, there are 4 beds, and we got 3 full sized towels. Wifi constantly buffering. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were just sitting on top of the fridge. Laundry is listedd as an amenity but you have to ask where it is. Outlets are all very inconveniently located. Shower cannot accomodate a 6' person. No lock on bathroom door. Midwesterners assume AC

Me and my family had a great time staying here. Had plenty of room for all five of us and it was very clean. The owners got back to me in a reasonable time when I had any questions. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place to stay!

There was no place to park the furniture in the one bedroom was brokenThe only part of smoke detector that was present was the battery and the carbon monoxide detector was missing a battery. The battery for smoke detector and the carbon monoxide detector were not even hung on the wall they were on the refrigerator. About 8 the WiFi stopped working so there was no tv or internet

Terrible experience!

This was the worst experience I've had with any kind of booking. The property had no fire alarm or carbon monoxide detector and given that there are bars on the windows, people smoking away outside, and really questionable wiring, it felt like a basement death trap. We were not comfortable staying but when I contacted the host's # some kind of "manager" answered and said they needed pictures sent. I requested that I be refunded so I could find another place to stay. Meanwhile, the "manager" said she couldn't open the photos. She wouldn't answer the phone. I was stuck trying to find last minute accommodations the weekend of July 4th. Meanwhile, I still haven't received a refund and have had to escalate to VRBO multiple times. This took hours of my vacation time and cost additional stress. Other things: property looks nothing like what is pictured, is dirty, the door on the closet didn't have hinges, the ceiling is really low.

A week stay experience

One of the bedroom carpet and quilt is very out of shape. The parking is not convenient. But the manager is easy to reach and did what he could. The rest is super fine!

Good for the money

The cost of room is one of the lower costs in area so I was not expecting luxury. So I got a room that fit the price for the area. Everything was as expected, good communication, convenient area. The low ceiling bedroom reminded me of being in my camper! I slept in the bedroom with the picture of night Seattle skyline and the bed was really comfortable, I slept like a baby. Bring white noise maker or ear plugs though as the building entrance is directly above the apartment and the doors slams a lot.

Check in/ check out was amazing and easy. Parking was kind of a pain being that 99% of the parking is either pay to park or 2 hr only parking. Please be-aware the ceiling are incredibly short which we weren’t aware of and kept smacking our heads on the ceiling. Stayed here for an event in Seattle and it definitely served its purpose

It’s fine

The overall stay was fine. It served its purpose and we would stay again because it fits our large family. The host were super easy to communicate with and sent easy instructions to get in. We did not have enough towels for our group, but they were quick to bring us more. We weren’t real sure about the location at first but felt completely safe once settled. Parking is a little tricky. You have to drive around until you can find a spot close enough that you don’t have to pay to park. It’s obviously a really old building so there are some things about it that are probably not able to be changed because of the age. I personally feel like it does need a very good deep cleaning. There was coffee and all the fixings to go with it so that was nice to have. It is a French press, not a coffee pot. The beds were comfy but the rooms they are in are tight. It may have said that in the listing and I just don’t remember it. We enjoyed our time in Seattle!

Fine if you’re truly on a budget

There were four of us, each needing our own bed, which was the limiting factor in our decision to stay here. The photos oversell the light (it’s a basement unit with only the concept of a window) and cleanliness of the place (I wasn’t too keen to sit on the couch). The location was nice: a quick jaunt to the convention center (our reason for being downtown) and to Capitol Hill amenities like groceries and restaurants. The refrigerator kept tripping the circuit and wasn’t dependable, but the owner was communicative and apologetic about the inconvenience. Additionally, the unit doesn’t have central heat, only a portable heater in the main room. Not great in a basement in winter.Still, for the price and location, you won’t find better options if you have friends like I do who need a place to crash after long days in Seattle.

Good for budget travellers!

The rooms are short in height, but fairly clean. Hosts are responsive to messages and respond quickly. The doors are a bit difficult to work with.
