It was built to the historic standards of the Houston Heights historic district. There are 2 bedrooms, each with a queen size beds. All the comforts of home are included from the coffee machine to cooking essentials to washer/dryer. It sits on the back end of a full-size lot, allowing for a nice yard view while relaxing on the balcony.

Guest access: You will have access to the home, garage and yard. The garage has space for 1 car. Additional vehicles can be parked in the driveway rather than on the street. Note the home is up one flight of stairs.

Interaction with guests: I have lived most of my life in Houston but have also traveled and lived around the world. I am happy to provide recommendations for our fantastic restaurant scene, things to do, etc. We live next door and will be on the property to maintain the lawn and garden but will stay out of your way.

The neighborhood: Three miles northwest of downtown Houston, the Heights is a group of historic neighborhoods that date back to the late 1800's. It has lots of character and charm and has become a destination for many of Houston's residents. Some of the best restaurants in the city are in or near the Heights. The area has a mix of boutiques, thrift stores, antique stores, art galleries, etc.

Getting around: You will be centrally located in the city and can easily drive or use Uber to get anywhere you need to go. There is also a B-Cycle station within walking distance, if you would like to rent a bike and try out some of the city's bike trails. Some distances are noted below:

Reliant Stadium (Houston Texans football)- 12 miles
Minute Maid Park (Houston Astros baseball) - 5 miles
BBVA Compass Stadium (Houston Dynamo soccer) - 5 miles

Or you can stay close to home and walk to White Oak Drive, Heights Boulevard or Studewood for a variety of food, snacks, drinks, shops and entertainment. There is also a wonderful park for children a short walk away.
