High-Speed Internet, large roof terrace (& outdoor kitchen), two beds, two bath.

Really kind of you to say such nice words Cas - that new kitchen on the roof is such a treat isn't it! Very soon it will include a fridge up there as well and lots of storage for all the crockery and cutlery meaning you will never have to leave the roof terrace! Maybe we need to invite that entertainer over for a glass of wine and singing lessons!

I was sad to see this as a review Felicity, and I felt I should respond so there is a fair representation of your comments. Firstly, I would like to address where you are right. You are right about the beach. We do have a full time life guard, but it is worth being careful as it does get quite steep quickly. It is a shingle beach, and yes, it is about 15 minutes of walk, but through the most glorious, Unesco-protected, pine and eucalyptus forest. We often walk through it at sun set. Quite majestic. You are right about the distance into Pizzo. We have always recommended a car to drive around to see the beautiful sites and towns. Taxi's are not really viable. For a bit of balance to the review, some elements are just incorrect. You stated "There are no restaurants, cafes or shops in walking distance at all and certainly not in the complex". I don't understand this, There is one of each at the main swimming pool; open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner throughout the summer season. With a car, there must be 10 restaurants in a 10 minute drive. Some of our favourite restaurants anywhere. You were absolutely right to raise additional costs. We have rented on the resort for over 10yrs, and were one of the first. When you raised your concern, we promptly spoke to other owners. Some, but definitely not all, stated they include additional costs. As a result, we immediately rectified this so all costs are now included (and we made sure you were refunded). You mentioned furnishing. I can only apologise that you felt they were worn. We left a couple of weeks before you arrived and had just installed some new sun loungers and replaced some of the cushions, so your comment surprised us. As for the rattan; my favourite chair, outside on the balcony, where I sit every day for my morning coffee, does have one worn armrest. Sorry about that. The mattresses were only replaced last year. I am sorry they were not comfortable for you. Tea towels are an endless pain. They seem to go missing every time. I promise it is true! As for the "mishmash of kitchen stuff', you are absolutely correct. We love to cook while we are out there and so there is a huge collection of equipment to cook with. Over the 15yrs we have owned our apartment, we have made sure it is as well stocked as possible. As for wine glasses. We actually opted for 'stemless' glasses after a few years as too many were getting damaged, i'm afraid. You mentioned the music. In nearly 15yrs of ownership, and countless summers, we have never, ever heard them playing "non-stop thumping rapping music 9.30am to past 11.30pm at night". This is simply untrue. Rarely is there any music before 8pm and never is it unpleasant There is one exception, that of a national holiday (Ferragosto in the middle of August) when music may go a little later but it is all part of the fun of that celebration. That is a long reply, and I hope I have been fair in my comments. We rent our apartment out to share our love for the resort and the region. It is a home that we have built over 15 years, with our two boys, and we hope that everyone has as lovely time in it as we have over that time. When we don't get it right, we rectify it, as you will have seen above. But, when comments are sadly incorrect, we feel we have to reply with a balanced view.

Hi Markus, Thank you for the review and especially for the nice words about the resort and roof top kitchen (by the way, it rarely rains so the shade is far better than a full on roof) As for the furniture, we agree with you. We have used it for nearly 10yrs now and this was the first year it showed. We are going to be dealing with it in the off season so all refreshed for next year. The music next door is a shame. We were there for 3wks this year in the peak time and it never bothered us at all. In fact we quite like a bit of music at lunch time and, in the evening it also adds to it. Sorry if you felt it was intrusive.

So pleased you enjoyed it Hayley. I remember our holidays with our little ones at that age. A joy.

Hi Josef, Thank you for the feedback and I agree. We felt the same when we were there during the summer and is something we are going to deal with during the winter season to give all the furniture a refresh. J

Pleased to hear you had a lovely time at our apartment and thank you for the feedback. This May and June period is lovely actually as it is a bit quieter as the Italians really focus on July and August as their holidays. Equally, it isn't absolutely baking either. To address some of your feedback, the music from next door is, sadly, louder at the start of the season as they open up and then settles down (we are there all August and love the music) - they must get a bit excited to get going. As for the rubbish, there have been huge changes this year and the rubbish area has been brought in off the road to the access road in the resort. They are also (thankfully) moving to a recycling system where there are defined bins for defined waste. Therefore I know that was coming in just as you were there F. simply because I was sent an e-mail at the same time from the resort. Otherwise, though, so pleased you had a nice time.

Thank you so much for staying in our apartment over New Year Vladimir; something we are yet to do. The quietness of the resort in the off season is actually lovely as you say - we particularly enjoy that time especially as the weather is still great! Happy future holidays. J

Glad you had a lovely time Jonas and glad you enjoyed the roof terrace so much. We have such fond memories of our two children playing in the apartment so it is nice to know the toys we left there still getting used!

Thats great to hear Gina - glad you had a great time. As you say April is a little chilly in the sea and the pools! Fond memories of being ordered to jump in to the pools in April when our children were young as they didn't seem affected at all by the cold! Lovely time for driving around and taking in the beautiful scenery when it isn't so busy though. Thanks once again.

Very kind of you Jitka to say those kind words. We love the roof terrace too especially now we have the kitchen up there - makes all the difference doesn't it. We weren't able to check out Grotticelly while we were here this year but will do so next year, always good to discover new beaches and yes, Scilla is a little treat isn't it. Eating your lunch or dinner only a metre of so above the sea because of terraces built on stilts is quite the experience. Thank you once again. A pleasure to have you with us.
