PRIVATE PIER with FISHING LIGHT + large granite fillet counter/sink. Expansive covered porches and screened porch with panoramic views to watch sunsets over water and sunrises over land. ā€¦. Nauticalā€™s mantra over Fireplace - It doesn't get any better than this! .... WEST BEACH, Moody Gardens, Schlitterbahn, & restaurants are 5-15 minute drive. The Strand district and Pleasure Pier are 20 minute drive.
SLEEPS 14: MAIN FLOOR has 2 King Master Bedrooms with en suite bathrooms (one master includes twin bed & trundle. UPSTAIRS has BUNK ROOM for 6, TWIN Bedroom sleeps 2 and expanded bathroom - double sink vanity area, Shower/Tub room and Toilet closet/room.
MAIN FLOOR also has Living Room with ceramic log gas fireplace, stocked kitchen with large island with electric cook top and counter seating for 5. Dining Table seats 12 & Game Table seats 4. Half Bath/Powder Room and Laundry room with full washer/dryer.
COVERED PORCH: 6 rockers with matching side tables and dining table and 6 chairs. SCREENED PORCH has seating for 6. GROUND LEVEL has a propane grill, outdoor sink & granite counter, fish filleting area, picnic table, swing, chairs and two outdoor Cabana Shower stalls with lots of HOT water.
WIFI, COMCAST Cable TV & ELECTRONICS: Great Room and 3 bedrooms have TVs, DVD players and HD cable boxes. Bunk Room has mounted TV for gaming.
BEST BIRD WATCHING: Enjoy daily bird migration between federally protected bird sanctuary islands to the North and federally protected wetlands to see Brown Pelicans, Pink Roseate Spoonbills, Grey Blue Herons, Great White Egrets and Sea Gulls. Kids love to throw white bread off end of pier to seagulls an hour before sunset!
OUTDOOR LIVING & THINGS TO DO: BEACH READY: 5 minute drive to beach pocket parks. Nautical has beach towels and 6 collapsible beach chairs. Board games, cards, books, assorted DVDs and croquet set.
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT NAUTICAL: While Nautical is a fenced property, families with small children should know that the bay front is NOT fenced. The exterior stairwell features a security gate. $200 Security Deposit due day prior to arrival and will be refunded within 72 hours of your departure date. Rental Agreement provided upon booking. No proms or large parties (wedding, graduation or college related) permitted. We rent only to adults 26 and older. No pets on property. No smoking. Maximum sleeping occupancy is 14 persons. Kayaks and boats welcome and there are several boat ramps available in the area.

Everything about this home was ideal for our family. The two primary bedrooms on the main level were perfect for the adults, while the upstairs provided a wonderful sleeping space for the children. The home was exceptionally clean, well stocked, and truly felt like a home away from home. We especially enjoyed fishing off the pier in the evenings. Joan was a fabulous hostā€”helpful, attentive, and very accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.

Perfect Weekend Getaway home

First and foremost, Joan is the easiest and most accommodating owner I have ever rented from. The home is clean, beautiful and just as pictured. The location is perfect, you close to the seawall but still feel the peace and quiet at the rental. The house is fully stocked with all amenities and we have caught a abundance of fishes under the night time fishing lights. We will definitely be back to rent again.

Amazing views

This home was wonderful! The kitchen had everything that we needed to prepare meals and there was a ton of seating. The views from all decks were amazing and there were a ton of birds in the wetlands. We even caught numerous fish from the pier including many keeper black drums. This home is kept well and clean. They thought of nearly everything a family needs on vacation.

Fantastic Weekend Getaway

The property was just as described. Lots of room for all adults. Beds were very comfortable, everything was labeled and easy to get to/understand. We made heavy use of the fishing pier and the back patio. Spent lots of time sitting in the breeze. Great location, only a couple minutes to restaurants and beach. Host was fantastic and responsive to all questions. Absolute gem.

Wonderful home

We had the best time here at the Nautical! They have everything you need for cooking and cleaning! The location was just wonderful and the kids had a wonderful time on the dock fishing! Itā€™s located far enough away from the busy summer visitors but only a short drive to multiple beaches that arenā€™t busy at all and only a short drive to pleasure pier. The property manager was very helpful and answered any questions we had very quickly! This is a wonderful home for big family vacations! We will be going again!

Quick Getaway

This house was perfect for our quick getaway from Katy, TX. We wanted to enjoy the island with family (7 adults 3 kids). The location was close to Moody Gardens/Schlitterbahn for busy days. Then spent relaxing evening on the pier fishing. We will definitely consider staying again! A long relaxing weekend away with everything you need!

We rent vacation homes often and I must say this was one of our favorites. The location is great, right on West Bay with little traffic. The boys enjoyed fishing from the dock. This home had every item you could ever think of needing, that's a large plus when you want a quick getaway and little stress. The home is in great condition, and we had no issues with items not available or working. The views are gorgeous, and it was just what we needed. The indoor and outdoor furniture is in great condition and there is tons of seating for everyone who stays. We will definitely be back!

Remarkable!

A huge thank you to the owner who could not have been more accommodating. The home is immaculate with much attention to detail. We had the most wonderful time enjoying the heavenly sunsets! The childrenā€¦and adultsā€¦enjoyed designing paper airplanes and sailing them off the upper deck on to the lawn. It was quite a contest. Our 7 year old took the prize! We had a Corn Hole tournament on the lower patio and a domino tournament around the game table in the great room. We fished off the beautiful pier, went for walks and enjoyed the beautiful views. I would not hesitate to book again as it was remarkable!!

Great Location!

We stayed over the new year weekend. This house has everything you need. The owner is very detailed and quick to respond. The rental packet provides everything you'd need to know and expect. We rent a lot and this was by far the most impressive home. Everything is labeled so you know where to look. Rooms, bathrooms, and beds were clean and comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked. We enjoyed the fireplace and porches. Also did some fishing and caught a few specks and reds. It's in a great location.

In 2008 Hurricane Ike destroyed our 1960s fishing camp. We built Nautical on our existing property with over 1000 sq. ft. of covered porch including a large screened porch to enjoy expansive views. Nautical's unique location offers incredible views of bay, wetlands, sunrise & gorgeous sunsets. Relax on the porch and enjoy the birds' daily migrations: Brown Pelicans, Pink Roseate Spoonbills, Grey Blue Herons, Great White, Snowy and Cattle Egrets, various Terns & the classic Laughing Sea Gulls. In the winter season elegant White Pelicans float for hours in the pier's fishing lights. A Nautical lazy day: Grab coffee & watch sunrise from porch, eat breakfast, drive the kids 5 minutes to West Beach, collect seashells & build sand castles! Rinse sand off kids in 2 Cabana Showers before throwing burgers on the grill. Enjoy an afternoon of pier fishing, crabbing, or bird watching/cycling along our quiet, mile long dead-end street. Our two master bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms makes Nautical a great place to share with family or close friends and our coastal decorations offer a relaxing setting when you finally head inside. As a host, we enjoy sharing Nautical whether you want to fish, relax or take in Galveston's outdoor activities and theme parks.

Our lot is situated in an idyllic waterfront & natural location yet civilization is at our doorstep. (Amusements, restaurants, stores and beach are just 10 minutes away!) We love to fish from our private pier, go fishing by kakay/boat in West Bay and crab the inlets. Bring your kayaks or boat. Head to West Beach to build sand castles, go seashell hunting and ride the waves. The breezes, views, sounds of wave action, bird calls and Nautical's relaxed, coastal interior allow us to escape 'city life'. The 'kid in us' appreciates that Galveston's tourist attractions and restaurants are so nearby. Sunrise, sunset, amazing moon rise and star gazing from Nautical's porches and pier are perfect to gather and toast life on West Bay!

UNIQUE NATURAL SETTING ON SECLUDED STREET: Bay front property with private pier and fishing lights and wetlands on the opposite side of the street. Even though its location feels secluded - Galveston's historic seawall is only 6 minutes away! SPORTSMAN'S PARADISE: Enjoy fishing, crabbing, boating or watching boats cruise the bay. If you kayak, bring it because the inlets along West Bay provide great fishing and calm wave/tidal currents for paddling your water toy!! Nautical's private pier is equipped with many cleats. Do not dock boats overnight due to active tide.

INSPIRING SUNSETS & SUNRISES: Bring your camera because God's sunsets and sunrises can be spectacular! In the evening, the lights on the distant mainland, Causeway Bridge and Galveston Island nicely frame West Bay and create a beautiful skyline. From the East Porch and house, the rising moon is memorably huge and quick; Star gaze the constellations from the porches or pier because the stars don't have to compete against bright city lights.

BEST BIRD WATCHING: Enjoy the daily bird migration between the federally protected bird sanctuary islands to the North and federally protected wetlands directly South of Nautical; daily you'll see Brown Pelicans, pink Roseate Spoonbills, Grey Blue Herons, Great White, Snowy and Cattle Egrets, various Terns, other Herons & the classic Laughing Sea Gulls. From Fall through Spring, birds migrate from as far away as South America. As our mantra says, 'It doesn't get any better than this!' ....
