There are many wonderful VRBO properties in beautiful St. Marys. By now you probably have checked out the many vacation properties listed on the St. Marys VRBO site. Here are a few things that set our property apart from other local properties.

- Value – With 2 private bedrooms and a large family room, couples or families can vacation at a very affordable price.
- Pet Friendly – Dogs/pups are welcome. There is a one-time $25 fee per dog. . This excludes ADA Compliant Service Dogs. Two (2) dog limit. Please note only dogs are allowed (no cats or other pets).
- More Value - With a fully equipped kitchen and outdoor grill you can choose to “dine in” with your family and friends perhaps making your vacation more affordable.

The quaintness of historic downtown St. Marys surrounds you when you stay at Green House Cottage. The waterfront is only a few blocks away with a peaceful waterfront park. Restaurants and coffee shops are nearby as well. Enjoy walks down streets that date back to the 1700's. On Saturday mornings, stroll down to the waterfront between 9 AM and 1 PM and buy goodies at the outdoor market. On certain holidays, come enjoy local festival at its best. A ferry ride to beautiful Cumberland Island is both picturesque and educational. Tickets can be purchased at the waterfront. Be sure to make you reservations well before you arrive. And, if you are bringing your boat you will find two launching ramps nearby and ample on-site parking at Green House Cottage.

You will have the comforts of home right at your fingertips at Greenhouse Cottage. Roomy living area and kitchen are centrally located inside the Cottage, with two small/cozy bedrooms off to each side of the living area. Wireless internet, 46" HD TV and Blu Ray DVD,

Kitchen is well equipped with free-standing stove/microwave, dishwasher, and refrigerator. All your cooking needs are provided, including cookware, serve ware, dishes and flatware and a gas grill. Mr. Coffee maker and Kuerig and blender are also provided. Stackable washer/dryer.

The living area has comfortable seating with HD flat screen television. All floors are ceramic tiled. A bedroom located at the front of the house has two twin beds, while the back bedroom has a pillow top queen bed. The bathroom is equipped with a small apartment size shower only.
As you venture out the rear door to the Cottage, you will find an enclosed courtyard with deck and walkway. Enjoy your morning coffee while relaxing in the private outdoor area, or maybe a nice meal and a little sun as well. And, if your four-legged friend joins you he or she will enjoy a secure fully fenced environment.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked and convenient for cooking. It seemed very pet friendly although we did not bring our dog. Loved the convenience to downtown restaurants, park and beautiful sunrises and sunsets, all within walking distance. Only downside was small shower and wellwater smell from washing machine.

I think this is the nicest host I have ever felt with. The cottage was perfect for our stay. The bicycles were a bonus , we got to ride around down town and my small Pom ride in the basket. It was perfect! Tom was very kind and welcoming. Would recommend to anyone and give this host 100 Star rating!!!

Property welcomes dogs. Small yard, looked bigger in pictures. Host was very friendly and fast wirh replies. Nice stuff for kitchen needs. Overall great.

Ideal for Pets, tile floors, small area rugs that can be rolled up easily, just in case. Great location, walk to downtown. Quiet friendly/safe neighborhood. Plenty of parking right at the front door. Great waterfront park within walking distance along with a nice/marsh view restaurant. "Locals Dockside." Also, a new upscale Coffee Shop, "Kraken Coffee & Kitchen Co." located downtown, treat yourself!

Well appointed coastal cottage in great proximity to the waterfront, restaurants, and shops. The owner was on top of communication, and very thoughtful. Great place to bring your doggos too- we will bring ours next time!

From the moment we decided to stay in St. Mary, to the moment of our departure, Tom and Beverly were the hosts that you could only dream about! Tom always promptly communicated with me. This cottage has everything you need and more! The location is within walking distance of this quaint place, and we are definitely looking forward to going back next year!

Beautiful, Restful Cottage

We love everything about The Green Cottage! From communications with the host to all the amenities in the cottage there is no place better to stay! The beds are comfortable and the exterior fenced in area is perfect for my little dachshund. Bikes are provided to explore the area. The layout of the cottage was well thought out! I would be remiss if i didnt mention how much my hubby appreciates the ample parking out front with no overhanging trees! I highly recommend The Green Cottage!

St Marys Escape

Property was a advertised. The cottage was perfect for my family with 2 children. Rooms were sufficient and the kitchen/ living room area was larger than expected. Overall it was an excellent place to spend the week while visiting friends and family. Highly recommend. We will definitely stay again!

Short trip with the pups

My husband and I traveled to St. Marys for a few nights with our 2 dogs. Communication with Tom was superb! He made it all go smoothly and not even 1 hiccup. The home is next door to a day care which was no problem, The only time we heard the children was on one of our walks and they wanted to pet the dogs through the fence. Also the home across the street has lots of cars/trucks but really only once while sitting under the umbrella in the side yard did i hear coming/going. This cottage looks to have been originally a business of some sort based on the layout. Access to the fenced side yard is in the master bedroom. The highlight of our trip was the use of the bicycles which we rode all around . We actually didn't get in our car once during our stay ; either walking or riding bikes everywhere. Lots of cute shops, restaurants and beautiful old churches. Overall a great stay.

The BEST place to stay in St Marys

The Green Cottage is an adorable cottage filled with all the things you need for a peaceful, relaxing stay! The open livingroom/kitchen/ dinning room is perfect to socialize in. The beds are very comfortable. The washer/dryer is a life saver so you dont have to bring as many clothes. They even provide laundry detergent! Tom (the owner) is top tier! He is very friendly and knowledgeable! You will be happy as a lark if you stay in The Green Cottage!

everything you need

Stayed 2 nights for a visit to Cumberland Island. The house had everything we needed - comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen, private yard with comfy chairs and an umbrella, and bonus bikes for leisurely rides around the neighborhood. The location was perfect - we walked to the ferry and to a great Mexican restaurant after a long, wonderful day on Cumberland. I didn't bring my dogs this trip but can tell the house would be great for dogs - privacy fence, easy to sweep floors, and quiet neighborhood with lots of walking options. Bedrooms are on opposite ends of the house for more privacy.

Great Host and Super Location

We loved staying at Green Cottage. Located among shady oaks in a quiet neighborhood, the cottage was within a short walking distance to historic St Marys. Plenty of great eats and lots to do in the area, even if you choose not to take the ferry to Cumberland Island. The kitchen was well provisioned and the cottage had super comfortable beds. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. We traveled with our dogs, and found the location great for walks in the evening. We would definitely stay again! Thank you!

Great launching spot for Cumberland Island

The location of this VRBO is wonderful, it is well equipped and quite comfortable. Downtown is a short walk away from most sites. The river is beautiful. The submarine museum was a hit. We really enjoyed exploring the vintage/antique shops in St. Mary's. We were in town during the April 12, 2025 Plein Air Paint Out. There were many talented artists painting.throughout the town and it was fun to watch them at work. We had hoped to spend a day on Cumberland Island, but could not get reservations on the day that we planned, so be sure to book in advance if you want to go to the island.

Disappointed stay

Doesn't match the online images. Queen mattress is shot. Bathroom was dirty. You have to climb up one foot to get iinto the shower. The vanity is dirty and should be replaced. There are no closets.

We think that one of the unique benefits is the large private gated courtyard. Simply, a place for you to relax and a safe and secure place if you have a four-legged friend that will be joining you.

Indeed we do consider pets. Our one time pet fee is $30.00 per pup. Pets are often not allowed at resorts of VRBO properties because of pet owners' disregard of rules. We are a pet owner who love to take our 'perfect dog, Clarky' with us on our travels. We allow dogs (Sorry, absolutely no cats as Owner has severe cat allergy) but require their owner to a adhere to a set of instructions to protect our property and thus allow other pet owners to enjoy their pets in our beautiful surroundings. When you send you initial inquiry, let us know the breed, age and weight of your dog please. Upon receipt of your inquiry, I will send Pet Instructions to you.
