History:
Designed as the nation’s first suburban shopping district built for cars, the Plaza was the vision of developer J.C. Nichols. Inspired by the architecture of Spanish marketplaces, Nichols began transforming swampy land in 1907. By 1922, the first Plaza buildings opened—earning the area the nickname “Nichols’ Folly.” Today, the Plaza is renowned for its Moorish-style architecture, cobblestone streets, and more than $1 million in public artwork, including fountains, murals, and over 30 statues.

This is a shared building with a controlled access entry to the building and the condo itself. Guests have private access to the entire unit. Shared building amenities include a fitness center and a rooftop viewing deck — perfect for morning coffee or evening sunsets.


Welcome to the Plaza Edition, a modern studio condo walkable to Kansas City's most iconic attractions.

Inside The Plaza Edition, you’ll find a comfortable king bed, cozy living area with a small couch and smart TV, and a full kitchen featuring stainless steel appliances including an oven, microwave, and refrigerator. The enhanced coffee bar includes a K-cup coffee maker, drip coffee maker, French press, and pour over. There isn’t a separate dining area, but a large island with barstools for two serves as a convenient and cozy spot to enjoy meals.

Cookware, utensils, and dinnerware
Basic cleaning supplies, dish soap, and hand soap
Coffee grounds, creamer, and sugar provided

The recently renovated bathroom features a walk-in shower, fresh linens, and Tommy Bahama shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and lotion. Each guest receives one large bath towel, one washcloth, hand towels, and dark makeup towels for added convenience.

Huge windows and bright décor make this space feel open and inviting — ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring.

Building Amenities
As a guest, you’ll also have access to the shared fitness center—perfect for staying active during your stay. Guests will also have access to a rooftop viewing deck with 360 degree views of Kansas City.

The Nelson-Atkins Museum is right across the street which offers plenty of scenic walking and the Plaza is only one block away. When you're ready to explore, catch the free KC Streetcar and visit Union Station, Crown Center, Power & Light, and the City Market - all of these iconic locations are directly accessible on the KC Streetcar route!

*IDENTITY VERIFICATION and PROPERTY INSURANCE REQUIREMENT: To help you relax and enjoy your stay, we have partnered with SafelyStay, Inc. to provide reservations with damage protection of up to $1,500. This protection plan is $30 for all stays under 29 nights, and is included in the cost of your booking. Stays 30-59 nights will be required to pay an additional insurance premium of $220 directly on our website. Stays longer than 59 nights will be separately charged for damage protection extension at the rate of $77/30 days. Please note, guest screening is also required for any bookings made through VRBO or direct. Once your booking is confirmed, you will be contacted by Safely to complete an identity verification before your reservation date. (Not applicable for Airbnb stays)

*MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT - Guests must be at least 25 years old to book a Cozy in KC property.

*PARTIES - All gatherings must be limited to 4, this is monitored and guests violating this rule will be charged a mandatory $700 fine. NO EVENTS OR PARTIES ARE ALLOWED.

*PETS - We do not accept pets at this property. There is a $500 fine for any unauthorized pets.

*PARKING - This rental does not include a designated parking space. During special events at the Plaza or Nelson-Atkins Museum, parking may be limited. We recommend planning accordingly, taking the Streetcar or using ride-share services when needed.

*CANCELLATION POLICY - Guests can receive a full refund minus processing fees (approximately 4%) if they cancel up to 5 days before check in. No refund will be provided if cancelling less than 5 days before check in.

*RENTAL AGREEMENT - We require the booking guest to digitally sign a rental agreement outlining all house rules once booking is confirmed.

This rennovated, contemporary studio apartment was perfect for two and in a great location. Although there is no designated parking, we never had difficulty finding adjacent parking on the street. We would definitely stay again when back in KC!

It was an ideal location for everything we wanted to do. Walking distance to KCRep for the show we wanted to see. Right across from the art museum. A block from a nice diner. A block or so from the street car.
