Perfect for families! This house has four bedrooms and four bathrooms, two living areas, two dining areas, and TWO covered lanais. Enough room for everyone to have some space! Check out the new kitchen! New cabinets, granite counter tops, and stainless steel appliances.

Located on the gentle slope of Hualalai, just enough elevation to feel the cooling afternoon breezes.

Imagine relaxing by the pool listening to the soothing waterfall. You can grill up that local fish and dine outside in the gazebo. Your senses will enjoy the lovely yard with tropical flowers and plants.

Time for sunset? Grab your traditional sunset cocktail and relax while soaking up the beautiful ocean views from your TWO lanais.

Only five minutes to Kailua town, full of shopping and great restaurants, and even closer for groceries and the health food store.

You may just stay by the pool all day, but if you do decide to go to the beach we have lots of toys, towels, beach chairs, and coolers for you to use.

We had an amazing stay! The property was in an ideal location, close in proximity to beaches, grocery stores and restaurants. The pool was fantastic and the sunsets from the lanai’s were absolutely breathtaking! Communications with the host, Rachel, were quick and easy.

Wonderful vacay!

We had such a great time on our vacation and staying at Melelina Hale was so convenient. We loved the 2pm check-in which allowed us to get in as soon as our flight landed. There was plenty of room for our 8-person group (3 adults, 4 teenagers, 1 child). In fact, the house was so spacious that we really needed to search to find the kids ;) We spent many evenings watching the sunset from the lanai. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to cook meals from home. We didn't get to enjoy the backyard as much as we wanted, but the pool was spacious and we saw many critters (gecko lizards and a couple of turkeys). The house doesn't have a lot of TVs...only one in the main living area and in the master bedroom - so if you have a group that likes to watch a lot of TV then this might not be for you (although we didn't have that problem). The house was centrally located to all the great places in Kona and just a short 1.5 hour drive to the other side of the island. We would definitely stay here again!

My family have made many cherished memories (Haliʻan aloha) at Melelina Hale, we have been returning for years. We love the privacy of this beautifully appointed house, the amazing views. Many gorgeous beaches to explore and every night an amazing sunset. The host is kind, attentive and gracious.

June Family Stay

The property was well repesented on line. Being from Arizona ws sure nice sit out of the rain and watch it rain...a real treat for us. Beach stuff was real handy also. Like te bathroom right off the pool also. Oh ya the kitchen was well equipt with everythingneedd to make a meal. I would stay again for sure.

The house was wonderful! We were all impressed by how clean it was. There was enough space for our whole family to spread out and be comfortable. The kitchen was completely stocked with everything we needed. We sat up on the balcony every night and watched beautiful sunsets. The best part of the house was the pool. The kids wanted to spend their whole vacation in it. We would definitely stay here again!

Great house

We loved our stay! The pictures don't reflect how large and comfortable this house is. Everyone was happy with their own spaces. The ocean/ sunset views were a highlight. The pool was wonderful.

Great family home

This was a great home for my family’s Hawaiian vacation. Very convenient location to everything in the Kona area. Quiet neighborhood just a couple blocks from a main road. Very well supplied kitchen. Plenty of room for a large group. Would definitely stay here again (my had stayed here previously with her friends).

Amazing time in Hawaii

This was a great house for our family durning our time in Hawaii! We have 4 adults and 4 kids and there was plenty of room for all our us. The house was well stocked and we felt at home durning our stay. The house was very clean and well maintained and we loved the ocean view and the private pool. The house was fantastic. It is in a great location just a short drive from lots of restaurants and other activities in downtown Kona. The house was very well stocked with everything we needed. The views from the back lanai and front porches was of phenomenal sunsets everyday. I highly recommend it.

Hawaii Home

Melelina Hale is a home away form home. The listing for this house is precise and the host, Rachel, is exceptional. The home is equipped with the essentials plus more and the space was ample. We were able to make dinners at the house as desired. The days we did not travel or go to a beach, we stayed at the house and enjoyed the outdoor pool area. The home met all of our needs and was very comfortable. We traveled from Western New York and our frends were from France. Our European friends have stayed with us at VRBO/vacation homes in the past and this by far was the best!

Family vacation

Absolutely Fabulous! My husband and I and our 3 kids, 29, 30, 31 and their partners. They gave me their feedback haha. There was so many plates and dishes and there was everything that we could ever need. And I had to say that first because our oldest is always travelling and she said that she doesn't always find that. You just had to open a cupboard or drawer and there was what you needed. The location is fantastic and only 10 min away from a fun night life. Rachel was always available to answer any questions we had. 10 out of 10 for us!

Excellent home in an excellent location

A fantastic stay in a great house. Exceeded expectations. We were two families (4 adults and 4 kids) and had plenty of spce and privacy. Pool and backyard were fantastic. Location was ideal, being central and close to everything. Enjoyee the beautiful sunsets ftom the lanai in the evenings. Highly recommend!

Fantastic stay in Kona

We really enjoyed this property, it is centrally located, very clean and well appointed. The pool was wonderful on days we didn't feel like going to the beach. Very spacious and beautifully furnished. Will definitely come back to Melelina Hale!

Amazing home for our island vacation!

This home as EVERYTHING you want or need for a wonderful stay on the island! It's comfortable, spacious and well-appointed. With several outdoor spaces, everyone could stretch out and enjoy the sunshine! And the pool was such a hit with all ages!

Amazing anniversary getaway!

We were so pleased with the house and was a great place to relax after venturing out on the island during the day. The location and view was perfect we couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The house had everything we needed, and then some and communication with the host was great. We would definitely love to go back again!

Felt like home in paradise

We just got home and our family expressed how much they had missed our time spent in the house! The house revealed itself as immaculate and significantly more spacious in person, surpassing what the pictures had portrayed. The kitchen proved to be equipped with an extensive array of cookware, dishes, utensils, along with a well-stocked selection of ingredients and spices, perfectly accommodating our large family’s culinary needs. The dual balconies offered breathtaking views of the ocean and the sunset, a sight that truly left us in awe. Situated conveniently close to the beaches, shopping outlets, restaurants, as well as major stores like Costco and Walmart, the location couldn’t have been more ideal. Our arrival was greeted with delightful assortment of our favorite fruits including avocados, papayas, and pineapple. Even during our exploration of other parts of the island, my family’s desire to return early to enjoy the house’s pool. Rachel, we want to convey our sincere gratitude for your generosity and in accommodating our early arrival. We eagerly look forward to more extended stay at your home when we revisit Kona. Thank you for a memorable family vacation experience!

8 Night Stay

The house was great except for the AC, which didn't work properly for 4.5 out of 8 days. The problem was reported on Day 1 when we checked in and again on Day 4 when the temperature was simply intolerable. The problem was blamed on abnormally high temperatures, global warming, climate change, etc., but ended up being a clogged drain with an automatic shutoff and very low freon. On Day 5 of 8, the AC was fixed and worked Great! BTW: the owner did offer a refund if I opted to move to a hotel, but we had already spent heavily on provisions with nowhere to keep them. It was a generous offer, but I would have been much happier if the AC had been checked out prior to our arrival.

Close to stores, and all things needed were included... Pool was a plus, and washer/dryer was also helpful as was the air conditioner... Overall this was an A-Plus family vacation.

40th Jubilee

We tried 3 times to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary (3years late due to Covid). Had to cancel twice with the owner who was so very understanding. The house was beautiful and very accommodating!! Exceeded our expectations!! The house was very clean, well kept, the pool was excellent! Thank you very much!!

Super clean and great location.

The house was spotless, well stocked and quiet. We arrived to a beautiful fruit basket and candy. Cold drinks in the refrigerator. By far the best rental we have ever been in.
