Sunny Garden Home in Arlington - Parking, Pets, Near DC
Won't you be our neighbor—at least for a little while?
Welcome to our sunny, thoughtfully designed duplex in the heart of Arlington, Virginia. Nestled on a quiet, tree-lined street just minutes from Washington, DC, it's an inviting place to settle in for a family vacation, a work assignment, or an extended stay. With private parking, walkable restaurants and parks, beautiful gardens, and easy access to transit, we hope you'll feel less like a visitor and more like a neighbor.
This property comfortably sleeps four, with space for a fifth guest on the twin sleeper sofa or a twin air mattress. Well-behaved pets are warmly welcome! We do charge an additional cleaning fee so that future guests with allergies can enjoy the property comfortably as well.
We wanted the duplex to feel like a home, not just a rental, so we've decorated it with family heirlooms, vintage pieces, and treasures collected by us, our friends, and our family during travels around the world. We've also tried to renovate and furnish it as thoughtfully and sustainably as possible—including rooftop solar panels that provide much of the electricity you'll use during your stay.
The Home
The first floor is designed for relaxing and gathering. The comfortable living room includes a Roku TV, a dedicated workspace, a favorite vintage reading chair, and a sofa that converts to a twin bed for an additional guest. The dining room is perfect for lingering over meals, and the fully equipped kitchen includes everything you need to prepare them, including new appliances, a convection range, drip coffee maker, toaster, cookware, dishes, and pantry basics.
Upstairs you'll find two comfortable bedrooms and a full bathroom. The primary bedroom features a queen bed, antique furnishings, and enough space for a crib (not provided) or the included twin air mattress. The second bedroom offers an XL twin daybed with a twin trundle, along with a floating desk, dresser, and closet—ideal for children, friends traveling together, or anyone who appreciates a quiet place to work. Both bedrooms include thoughtfully selected, high-quality mattresses designed for comfort and great sleep.
The bathroom is bright and clean, and we've added touches like a beautiful shower curtain, high-quality cotton towels, and high-end/eco-friendly shower products to give it a spa-like vibe. The grab bar and hand-held shower head make the space perfect for the whole family.
An unfinished basement provides a washer, dryer, and extra storage. Outside, you'll also have access to a lockable bike shed and a private driveway that accommodates two vehicles parked back-to-back.
The Gardens
The gardens are one of our favorite parts of the property. The front yard features a stunning native plant garden and clover lawn while the fenced side and backyard have been designed to welcome both pets and pollinators. The pesticide-free, raised-bed herb garden means you can enjoy thyme, oregano, sage, rosemary and more straight from the garden. Sit with your morning coffee surrounded by the scent of lavender and the sound of birds, or end the day with dinner at the picnic table tucked beneath flowering trees and solar-powered string lights.
The Neighborhood
We love our neighborhood, and we think you will too. It's quiet, leafy, diverse, affirming, and wonderfully walkable. Columbia Pike—with its restaurants, cafés, shops, library, parks, playgrounds, and local businesses—is just around the corner.
The house is conveniently located near many popular destinations, including:
National Foreign Affairs Training Center – 1.6 miles Fort Myer – 1.4 miles The Pentagon – 2.6 miles Ballston Metro – 2.1 miles Clarendon Metro – 1.9 miles

Sobre o anfitrião
Anfitrião: Liz R
We're lived in this neighborhood for years and are excited to welcome you whether it's for a short visit or a longer stay. We love to travel, and we've tried to create a space that reminds us of some of our favorite places to stay: where we felt welcome the minute we walked through the door, and everything was cheerful, airy, and spotlessly clean, We love gardening, and we hope you'll be able to spend some time outside enjoying the native plants, pollinator-friendly flowers, and fresh herbs.
Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade
South Arlington is a fun, quirky suburb of DC, with lots of different restaurants and grocery stores. We love being able to run around the corner for an ice cream or a boba tea or some fantastic sushi or even authentic Neopolitan pizza - and then come home to a beautiful, quiet garden under huge oak trees and watch the birds and the bunnies. We are so lucky to be part of this amazing community, and we hope you'll leave with some lovely memories!
