Your cozy beach hideaway is waiting! This one bedroom at Gulf Shores Surf & Racquet is perfect for a couple's getaway. Yellow walls in the bedroom, with a King bed and striped bedding. Two nightstands, a dresser and mirror provide the necessities. The bath has lime green walls and a shower/tub combination. In the kitchen, green walls and fully equipped for condo cooking. The den has a dark blue rattan sofa with rattan and glass tables and two side chairs. An entertainment center holds a flat screen TV, VCR and DVD player.

Needs work very dated

Property is very dated and needs work. The carpet needs to be replaced. Has agood location. Easy beach access and nice pool and tennis court.

Good stay for vacation!

Had a few spiders first night in the bed. Found some dead bugs on dishes on top shelf’s. Overall had a good stay! Had a great time!

We checked in which was a breeze arrived at the unit and it smelled. The carpet was FILTHY. The unit was very dated as the pictures show so I wasn’t surprised. The kicker was that night the cockroachs came out. We had to sleep with the lights on to make sure we didn’t get crawled on. On a good note, the property management company really handled our situation well.

The property, (Surf and Racquet Club) was well maintained. The apartment was lass impressive. Torn carpet leading into he kitchen was a safety hazard. Sliding door leading onto the balcony was difficult to open and close. Selection of cooking and eating utensils could have been better. Also, parking pass should be included in the rental.

Not very happy costumer

When we got there the condo was not smelling good can certainly improve that and there was mice poop in cupboards, kitchen was not equipped all that good. I personally would not stay there anymore.

Not what I expected

Great location...But, condo has issues. Air conditioning smells musty, dirty, runs constantly, can't turn it off. Furniture is old, sofa cushions look dirty, poor lighting in the bathroom, tub had issues. The stove is old, although it did work. The condo needs a refresh badly, looks like its never been updated since it was built, other than some of the flooring and carpet. The pool was nice but way too small for the number of rooms here, always crowded. I've stayed in many condos on the coast here and never stayed in one that was run down like this one and shocked to think I was paying over 200 bucks a night for this.

Everything we were expecting plus some additional little perks that made our stay very enjoyable.

Overall we were very pleased with the property. The condo was clean and semi-major updates were apparent. Flooring and appliances appeared to be relatively new. Would suggest that the silk arrangements hanging on the walls be replaced or dusted, otherwise, everything was satisfactory. Even though the complex has obviously been in the area for longer than many of the neighboring houses and high rises, we never felt that the place was rundown or not cared for properly. In fact, we felt that for the age of the complex, it was very clean and well maintained especially the pool and tennis court area. It’s obvious the management strives to keep everything looking neat and tidy. Beach access was perfect with a feet washing station enroute from beach to condo. Wonderdul for keeping sand outside! Morning walks down by the beach were a favorite way to start the day and the rest of the day was spent soaking up rays and playing in the ocean. Absolutely loved everything about the beach and the condo’s proximity to it!!

The entire two weeks that I was there the jacuzzi was down for maintenance and the pool was down for one week for repair. According to the onsite management this was scheduled weeks in advance. Had I known this when I booked a week before my stay, I would not have chosen this location. The pool and jacuzzi are major amenities and I should have been notified that they would be unavailable.

Ceiling has a lot of water spots. Shag carpet 😩 ,tub is slow to drain Broke leg on microwave, balcony curtain torn pretty bad. Sofa in front of the balcony door.

It was not bad. Everything very old. Has some small flies in a unit. I saw a cockroache in a cabinet in a kitchen. Doesn't have a tray to bake. We got frozen pizza but we couldn't bake it. If you would like to cook something they have some metal and teflon pans, everything with teflon need go to trash because has millions of scratches. You will have to clean kitchen and throw a trash before you leave. View was really good. Very close to a beach. You must have a car, because you have to pick up keys 6 miles away from a condo.

Great location!

We had a great time in this unit. It was pretty inexpensive, especially for the area, though it could use a bit of updating. The kitchen had plenty to cook with as far as cookware and utensils, coffee pot, toaster, microwave, had pitchers for tea, dishwasher, but no spices, coffee filters, one use of dish soap, so make sure and bring those things. I loved having a washer and dryer, which were in great working order, I like to wash as I go so I don’t have a pile of laundry when we get home. We had an issue with sugar ants a couple of times, but not that big of a deal. Enjoyed the hot tub and pool, son was hoping for a basketball court. Loved the beach access directly across the street, my kids are older so I don’t need tons of toys or anything, was able to grab my beach bag, a drink, and enjoy the beach. Overall, this unit was great for the price we paid, you get what you pay for. We paid a great price for a decent place to stay that we would happily rent again.

Room had an odor

The grounds were nice. My boys loved walking out back and fishing in the Lagoon. Our room had a musty odor that caught my attention as soon as I walked in. Throughout the week we all had respiratory issues. Coughing, sneezing, stuffy noses..things of that nature. The washing machine broke but staff was quick to come and fix it and even brought more towels. The room was wonderful minus the odor!

We really enjoyed the amenities. It was wonderfully to sit out on the balcony and look out at the Lagoon. Very close walk to the beach! Sufficient dishes in the kitchen. No door to the bedroom but the bed was very comfortable. There was a musty odor while we were there but this would have been a perfect unit other than that.

Awesome KING SIZE bed!!!!

This condo was very nice. The bed was very comfy and was king size compared to qween. My spouse and I had very good much needed rest. Our two kids (12 and 16) were very comfortable on the couches that converted into a nice twin size bed. Our kids (boy and girl) were very happy they did not have to share a pullout bed. Our stay was awesome and the beach and pool were amazing. We will definatly stay in this unit again!
