The historic Mahoney House in Russell is ideal for families and large groups.

Welcome to your house in Russell! This beautiful home, built in 1919 with original hardwood floors throughout, is your perfect hometown getaway. Completely renovated in 2017, it now accommodates up to 11 people in four bedrooms. The Mahoney House is located less than two miles from I-70 and one block from Main Street. This is an ideal retreat for individuals, couples, families and large groups visiting Russell.

The space

The Mahoney house, built in 1919, is a well known home in Russell, KS. A little more than 2,000 square feet, this house is thoroughly renovated and updated. You'll enjoy a new gourmet kitchen with quartz and marble countertops, a gas stove, and all the amenities & gadgets you might need. The main floor features a large, comfortable, well-appointed living room on the left, and an open kitchen and dining room on the right. In the living room, you'll find a 76" television with a cable package including local and national channels on Amazon FireStick. Dining room has a table which can seat up to 10 people when the leaf is installed. A new bathroom with shower, and a laundry room with new appliances complete the downstairs. On the upper level you'll find four comfortably appointed bedrooms. Three feature king beds that can accommodate two guests in each. The fourth bedroom is designed for kids with two bunk beds: a full-over-full and a twin-over-twin, in addition to a twin trundle bed. We also have a pack-n-play with linens for your littles.

Guest access

The Mahoney House is your house in Russell. Our guests have access to the entire home for the duration of their stay. The kitchen is fully equipped: a gas stove with convection oven, convection microwave, and dishwasher. The laundry room has a large load washer and dryer and available for your convenience.

Wonderful stay for our group of seven. Furnishings were an eye-catching mix. Kitchen was well equipped for all kinds of meal prep with a lovely adjacent dining area. Beds were amazingly comfortable. Towels were fluffy and soft. An extra bonus was the tasty quick bread with butter.

If I could give 10 stars I would. I am so grateful for the exceptional Host Dustin & Raef. They were so welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. The special loaf of pumpkin bread left in kitchen along with a special Christmas surprise for the grandchildren. This home has so much charm and character. The Mahoney House is beautiful! Everything we used worked well (microwave, grill, stove, oven) and we found everything we needed. The "welcome" pumpkin bread was wonderful - better than cookies! We would definitely stay there again.

family Christmas gathering

This is an awesome place to stay. They go above and beyond the call of duty. Everything you could possibly need or want is supplied at the house. We have spent the last three Christmas at the home. It is a half way point for my children to meet.

Clean with convenience you canā€™t get at a hotel

We had a 3 week project and was able to rent for a month so we didnā€™t have to hassle with packing up on weekends. Owner alerted me on every detail to make sure everything worked smoothly.

THE place to stay in Russell, KS!!!

Prior to checking in, the communication and info shared from the owners was FANTASTIC! Then, once we got there things got even better!!! The house was beautifully decorated in general, but also specifically for Christmas. The 4 bed/2bath layout was perfect for our group of 4 friends. We spent most of our time in the open kitchen/dining room are but also enjoyed the huge new TV, spacious backyard and the relaxing front porch. 12/10 would definitely stay here again! Family Reunion

This house was amazing! My family and I had a wonderful time visiting other relatives for the weekend and the Mahoney House was a great place to stay. We will definitely stay here again when we are in town and I highly recommend it for anyone planning a stay in Russell. Thanks Dustin and Raef.

Excellent get together spot

We used this spot as a halfway point to meet with friends from Colorado and Missouri. The house was large enough to hold 4 adults and 3 kids very comfortably and the backyard was great for letting the little ones burn off some energy. The bedroom setup worked perfectly, the "big" kids loved the bunk beds and the adults loved the king size beds! The hosts were very informative and helpful before our stay. We stayed during a heat wave in August and we were a little worried about the keeping the house cool enough, but the house stayed at the perfect temperature the whole time.

Definitely stay at the Mahoney House if you will be in the Russell area!!

WOW! What a great place to stay with family!! My 2 Cousins and their families stayed here for the Czech Fest in Wilson, KS. The Mahoney House is equipped with all the essentials you can think of and might have forgotten, and the attention to detail is beyond compare! If you need space for a large gathering inside and out this is the place! With having 5 adults and 6 children under 15 we had plenty of room for everyone and for everyone's needs! The kid's bunk room was perfect and the 3 separate king-sized bedrooms were just right for our needs! Dustin went above and beyond when we discovered that we left behind a special knitted blanket that a little one was very attached to. Not only did they find the blanket and worked out arrangements for us to pick it up but they also found a children's book that we left behind. Definitely stay at the Mahoney House if you will be in Russell or the surrounding area, you will not be disappointed!

Beautiful Home

We stayed at Mahoney House for a family get together. We have some family in Missouri and Colorado and this was perfect middle ground. My grandmother was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's and traveling is becoming more and more difficult. This home helped us spend quality time together with 4 generations! The town is small but well taken care of and full of history. We enjoyed the Fossil Museum (less than a block away) and the history posts. The drive to Wilson Lake was beautiful! So many fun geocaches within walking distance as well! The bikes in the garage were a huge hit and the neighbors seemed so friendly and waved at the kids as they attempted to use the me-movers. The kitchen was well stocked with seasonings and basics. There were plenty of towels and bedding. And the decor..wow! We felt so at home! It is obvious a lot of time, work and love went into restoring this historic home. I really can't thank you enough for such a wonderful place to come together and spend time with family. We already have plans to come back to this beautiful house in such a great town. Thank you!

Everything our family needed

This house has the most complete kitchen I have ever seen. We had 8 people for 9 meals and there was not a single item that we couldn't find. Perfect kitchen and dining room setup to socialize while cooking. Beautiful dƩcor throughout the house. Very comfortable beds and great bathrooms. Schedule your visit early, because when word gets out about this property, it will book up fast.
