Good

We have been coming to DeBordieu over 30 years. Southern Dunes has a great location and has been in our lives off and on during those 30 years. Things that can be improved are: refrigerator does freeze your food that needs to be fixed. Ice does run out quickly for 11 people. Improve the ice machines the boardwalk to the beach is dangerous with popping nails that needs to be improved. The master suite has water stains on the ceiling. In the hallway on the second floor looking into living room, the air-conditioning vents look very moldy. Exterior doors are hard to shut Hope this helps!

Love the location

The location is great and we love the porch and rocking chairs. The outside shower with hot water is great and keep so much sand out of the house. We love that every bedroom has its own bathroom! Coffee pot leaks and needs to be replaced asap. When we checked in, coffee had leaked into the pots and pans cabinet. And when we filled the coffee maker with water, it leaked everywhere, including into the cabinets. Ants were a problem throughout the house, but especially in the kitchen. We had to buy any spray and traps, and keep food in ziplock bags. The oven doesn't close, so cooling was difficult because it would not preheat to desired temp. We had a great time! I am not complaining- just letting you know of issues!

Family Memorial Day vacationj

This is the 3rd year we have rented this house for our annual family Memorial Day weekend. We LOVE staying here!!! It fits our needs perfectly and we love being right on the beach! All of the amenities in the house are great and the kitchen is well equipped. We will definitely keep returning to this house.

Great location

Great spot to be, but was not aware of the spiral stairs. They are not easy especially for little ones! Everything provided! Great kitchen! Fun week!

Great week!

We live Southern Dunes and have been renting it for many, many years. The outside shower hasn't worked for years and it was the best thing previously since it had hot and cold water. It would keep so much sand outside, if it worked. We had ants and roaches this year in the kitchen and back dining table, but were able to clean well and keep food on the island. And the dishwasher seal is broken and leaked water. We just put towels on the floor when we ran it. Still a great stay! We love the house, the rocking chairs, and everyone had a great time.

OK

The house was in a great location with alot of space for our group. The new HOA parking rules are ridiculous. We spent an enormous amount of time trying to get this worked out for our group. I've been coming to DeBordieu for 4 years but we will not return until this parking situation is worked out. We've already booked our staff retreat house for next year in a different location due to this issue. We paid in full and signed a contract over a year ago and should have not had to deal with this.

Southern Dunes

This home is well located, but poorly maintained. Rusty nails poking out of splintered boards on all decks as well as the walkways which have to be negotiated to get to the beach. Main door to outside deck inoperable due to broken handle. Elevator flooring is filthy. Carpet throughout the home in bad condition. Rotten window in master bedroom.

Southern Dunes

The pictures you posted are misleading. From a safety point of view, most upsetting was the condition of the back deck & screened in porch: -The railings have a significant lean which make you wonder if they're even safe. -The deck floor boards are in horrible condition- badly warped & splintering with nails sticking up. -The screened in porch area- the plastic encasing the metal pillars is coming apart/pulling apart. -One of the posts even has a metal brace wrapped around it in a more aggressive effort to keep it from coming off (at least that's what it looks like). -The railings around the screened in porch- the wood & paint are badly splintered & big chunks are flaking off. -In some areas around the screened porch it looks like glue was used and painted over and that's breaking off in chunks as well. -The nails used on the porch railings & screened in door, are not stainless steel and are seriously rusted with the rust running down the sides. While the house interior was clean & acceptable, it is also in need of a face lift: -The 26" wide, spiral staircase- is not pictured in your photos and is so narrow, very difficult to walk. -The kitchen table is covered in paint & water stains. -The shades are old & the ropes on several have frayed making them difficult to roll up. -The beds: the 1 king size bed is on the top floor not the main floor as advertised and there was actually TUBE TVs in several of the rooms. - The bathrooms- were clean but the vanities old & low with a height of 30-32". We've been visiting Debordieu for 20 years and have stayed in several homes. Always the homes have been clean, modern and welcoming. Sorry to say but for the price tag, we cannot give Southern Dunes a positive review.

Ande, We always aim to deliver a great experience, and we are gutted when we don’t meet expectations. Thanks for taking the time to bring this to our attention. We will use the feedback to make us better and to ensure this doesn’t happen again.”
