Vintage Dream - Luxury Mid- Century Modern

Vintage Dream is a 2000 sq. ft. Mid-Century Modern home that is the perfect place for a short or long stay during your Indy visit. We are centrally located to downtown (7 miles), the Indianapolis International Airport (14 miles) and Indianapolis Motor Speedway (15 miles)

When you stay at the Vintage Dream my number one emphasis is on cleanliness and free amenities such as a coffee bar, bottled water, popcorn, Aveda shampoo, conditioner and hand and body wash. Also coke, beer and wine are available for purchase at your convenience. I have traveled all over the world and know the little things that are important, after all when you travel it is the experience that makes the difference.

The home has been updated with hardwood floors throughout. You will have access to the entire house including the basement which has an additional family room, double bed, and a washer and dryer. There are beach towels in the hall closet. The Foyer doubles as a study with a printer that you can connect to via wifi. Cable TV in living room and family room. Apple TV with Netflix and movies purchased on iTunes in master bedroom.

Guests have the entire house, pool, and fire pit on an acre and a half of land that is very private yet in the middle of the city convenient to restaurants and shopping. We go above and beyond to provide all of the amenities for comfortable and convenient stay! Starbucks is within walking distance or a very short drive!

Please note that I have nice white linens. If you stain or damage them you will be responsible to replace them. Your deposit will be withheld if the home needs to be deep cleaned after your stay, such as the oven, stain removal of items, excessive garbage removal (you are allowed one dumpster), etc.

Additional guests: This home is setup 6 guests. Any additional guest need to have pre-approval at the time of booking with a $25 charge for each additional guest per day. If you do not have prior authorization you will be asked to leave with no refund. NO PARTIES OR EVENTS PLEASE! I strive to keep my place very well maintained.

The home is on the same property as our accounting firm that is open full time during tax season only. Off season we do have "by appointment only" usually on Wednesday's and it is in a separate building. There is a parking area that accommodates 5-7 cars. The parking lot does have a surveillance camera on the parking lot only for security.

Please set the alarm when you leave the property to avoid being responsible for any incidents.

Beautiful property with a lovely pool. The house was well stocked, very clean, and exceeded our expectations. Host was very helpful whenever we asked a question and even allowed for a late checkout which we appreciated.

The house was clean, had everything we needed, and was perfect for a family get away. The latch to the fence gate that leads to the pool does not latch which was concerning with having littles but other than that it was perfect!

Great get away

Loved the pool and it had everything we needed, chairs, floats, and towels. Beds were comfortable and kitchen had all we needed for meals in. Good restaurants close by. Had a great family weekend!

This is a well equipped and maintained home in a great neighborhood. We took a walk every morning. The pool was great, and we practically lived on the screened in porch. Greenwood is very close, and it’s not a bad drive into downtown Indy, so plenty of places to eat, drink and shop. We had a great girls weekend.

Great Stay

We stayed for 6 days for a much needed vacation and had a blast. Everything was accommodating and the home had everything if not more than you could ask for. The home was beautiful the neighborhood was beautiful and the owners were incredible hosts and very responsive when any questions arose. We will definitely vacation here again. My family and I are happy to have had such a wonderful vacation.

Weekend trip

It worked perfect for our birthday weekend trip. Located near the zoo and museum made it easy to travel with our little family. My daughter enjoyed her birthday swimming in the pool all day. The host was accommodating to a couple of our local friends stopping by as well. Overall great stay.

We came for a reunion and weren’t familiar with Indianapolis. I was happy that this was next to a business and not super close to other homes. Was off a Main Street but the noise wasn’t overwhelming. Everything I messaged about was replied back with reasonable timeliness and or with an explanation of what to do. I would stay here again! Wonderful host experience.

Indianapolis Eclipse Trip

Went to Indianapolis to view the solar eclipse with my husband and our four adult children. Everything was great. The house was clean and just like the listing described. The kitchen was well equipped. The location was also great. Easy drive to downtown for sightseeing; lots of nearby restaurants, grocery stores, etc.

Family trip to the Olympic swim trials

Beautiful home, everything as advertised in the listing, plenty of room for two parents and three teenagers, lovely pool and backyard, well equipped kitchen. Convenient to Lucas Oil Field/downtown, 15 minutes to get to the stadium. We enjoyed downtime at the house and using the pool between swim trial sessions. Plenty of retail/shopping nearby to stock up on food and supplies. Enjoyed dinner at Bubba’s 33.

Great for small families

Nice older ranch home, well equipped, clean and nicely decorated. Very nice pool and sun room, comfy beds, plenty of nice towels and beach towels, modern appliances and internet tv, alarm system. Located on a busy, high traffic road, well back from the street, but still quite loud at night. That said, we would probably rent here again and bring earplugs for sleeping. Good communication, overall a happy experience.

The house was immaculately clean

We loved the house and how clean while taking care of it was. Everything was labeled, light fixtures, towels to use where things were. We live in a quiet country area. The noisy traffic was hard for falling asleep and naps for the little ones. Everything is conveniently located and within 20 minutes of the house.

Enjoyed our stay!

The property was true to the pictures, with the exception of the basement which was not quite as we expected. There is no door to the basement, no separate bedroom in the basement, and no toilet for the makeshift bathroom in the basement. I'm 5'3" and I hit my head on the ceiling going up and down the basement stairs. The main floor hallway bathroom is also in desperate need of a upgrade (huge room, huge tub, tiny tiny shower that requires climbing stairs onto an awkward platform). The house is also on a very busy/noisy street. But the common areas of the house, and particularly the pool/yard, were great. And the owner was very easy to communicate with and was very accommodating. Despite its shortcomings, it was a good property to stay at.

Great house but found mold

Night one I was ready to give a 5 star review, my kids loved the pool the house was perfect and fit all my kids perfectly! We struggled with the wash machine which we came from a few nights in Chicago to do laundry and kept getting errors, my husband got it work for it to quit again! Then when he was trying to fix it the next morning found mold in the basement and not a little, a lot! This was after my two kids slept in basement. So the next night they had to sleep on the couch upstairs as they are allergy prone and mold is one! Thankfully they didn’t have a reaction, but my anxiety spiked after that! We still enjoyed the pool and outside area a lot! Great place to relax, grill and roast smores! Easy access to downtown and the Fever game (Go Caitlin Clark). So I would be loved to give a higher review and don’t doubt they’ll get the mold situation fixed up and have the perfect getaway! Easy communication and assistance when needed! Again loved the creaky floors and deal of the ole house, it was like being at my grandparents again!

Sorry for not replying sooner. Not sure what the issue was with the washer, we do laundry in them weekly. Glad your kids didn't have a reaction to anything. We have gone over the basement but nothing tested as mold. We cleaned anything that even looked like it might be. Thank you

Easy access to everything Indy has to offer

I spent five nights at the Vintage Dream home during July 2018 with my family. The home is well kept and provisioned with just about everything you could possibly need from complimentary snacks and bottled water to beach towels and pool floats. The screened porch, pool, lounge chairs, umbrella, gas fire pit and gas grill are great for relaxing and unwinding. We really enjoyed those the most. The beds are comfortable and the linens and towels are high quality. The house is nicely furnished. The floors are the original hardwood and they are gorgeous. However, the floors creak with every step making it very difficult to move about the house during the night without waking everyone else. Vintage Dream is located directly on a very busy highway and the traffic noise makes it difficult to sleep. On the second day we resorted to using ear plugs and even those did not drown out all of the traffic noise even in the very early morning hours. The kitchen is in need of an upgrade especially the 1960s era microwave and oven. I appreciate preserving original features in a home when there is a historical value but that does not extend to appliances. It is clear throughout the home that the owner takes great care and pride in it, but as a rental in today's market the appliances really should be modern and working. Overall: Weighing the pros and cons we would not stay at this property again.

Ann, Thank you for your review. I appreciate all of the nice things you had to say about the property. I have in the description that the house is on a busy road but does sit back off of the road on an acre and half. I have never had complaints about hearing noise in the bedrooms as the windows are very well insulated and again the house distance from the road frontage. The appliances are vintage except the refrigerator and dishwasher are new, however they are in good working condition. Please be aware that I had to confront this guests after check out with issues of damages and house rules being broken. Chandea Happel

Good as advertised. Seven miles from downtown Indy. Easy access for us. Fall colors were very nice in the area. Plenty of room in the house and basement for a large group. Thumbs up!

I hope because of my travel experiences I have insight as to what is important. My number 1 is cleanliness! I also provide the same amenities of a luxury boutique hotel such as Aveda Shampoo, Conditioner, and Body Wash. Complimentary water and a coffee bar are a must. Luggage racks in the closets and robes are just an added value when traveling! Traveling should be more than a place to sleep, I strive on excellence and creating an experience with personal touches for my guests. (And Starbucks is very close)

Vintage Dream is very cozy and is my home away from home. I absolutely love the characteristics of this vintage home especially the wood floors, sun-room, private pool and fire pit. It is decorated very simplistic and comfortable.
