The Space: Welcome to Painted Rock—an extraordinary 5-bedroom, 5-bath luxury estate perched above Smith Rock in the exclusive Ranch at the Canyons. With sweeping 360-degree views of the Cascade Mountains—including the iconic Monkey Face at Smith Rock, the Three Sisters, and Mt. Jefferson—this one-of-a-kind property offers a peaceful, high-end retreat in one of Central Oregon’s most breathtaking natural settings.
Inside, you’ll find warm, natural finishes, soaring ceilings, and curated furnishings that blend comfort with sophistication. A fully retractable wall of glass in the great room opens to expansive canyon views, blurring the line between indoors and out. Whether you're gathering in the grand room, enjoying a meal with a view, or relaxing on the covered patio beside the fire table, every detail has been designed to elevate your stay. The home includes multiple en-suite bedrooms, a dedicated office with a Murphy bed, a media room, a putting green, and a wine fridge and Breville espresso machine for added indulgence.
Guests staying at Painted Rock enjoy access to Ranch at the Canyons, a private 1,700-acre gated community offering unmatched natural beauty and privacy. The community features equestrian facilities, a Tuscan-inspired clubhouse, private vineyards, and miles of walking trails that wind through the property—including scenic paths that lead down to the Crooked River.
Painted Rock is currently being offered for sale. While this has had little impact on past guests, we believe in full transparency. Guests must agree to allow occasional, pre-scheduled real estate showings during their stay. Should a showing be scheduled during your reservation, we will:
Provide at least 48 hours' notice Ask that the home be vacated from 10am–6pm on the day of the showing Provide a complimentary full professional cleaning after the showing Refund the full nightly rate for that day We deeply value your privacy and comfort. Every effort will be made to minimize disruption, and the home will only be shown when absolutely necessary and with advance coordination. Many guests will not experience a showing at all.
Booking requirements: To confirm your reservation, guests must:

Guest Access: Guests will have full and private access to the entire home and surrounding property, including all indoor living spaces, outdoor patios, and the attached two-car garage—with the exception of the single-car garage on the left-hand side, which is reserved for owner storage. The rest of the estate is exclusively yours to enjoy throughout your stay.
The Neighborhood: Painted Rock is nestled within Ranch at the Canyons, a prestigious, gated community spanning 1,700 acres of private land along the Crooked River. Surrounded by dramatic red rock canyons, working vineyards, and panoramic views of Smith Rock State Park, the ranch offers an unparalleled sense of tranquility and natural grandeur.
This exclusive enclave is limited to just 46 homesites, ensuring exceptional privacy and a strong connection to the landscape. Residents and guests enjoy access to private hiking and equestrian trails, a community clubhouse, ponds, stables, and curated open spaces. Though secluded, the ranch is just minutes from Terrebonne and under 30 minutes from Redmond and Bend, offering the perfect balance of peace and convenience.
Getting Around: While Painted Rock feels a world away, it's conveniently located just 10 minutes from Terrebonne, 25 minutes from downtown Redmond and Redmond Airport (RDM), and about 40 minutes from Bend. A car is strongly recommended to fully enjoy the area's scenic drives, outdoor attractions, and nearby towns. The gated community ensures privacy and quiet—ideal for those seeking both seclusion and accessibility.
Other Things to Note: This home is currently for sale. By booking, guests agree to allow up to two scheduled showings per month, with 48 hours’ notice. If a showing occurs during your stay, you'll be asked to vacate from 10am–6pm and will receive a full refund for that night plus a professional cleaning on us.
Painted Rock is located within Ranch at the Canyons, a private, gated luxury community. To preserve the integrity of this setting, a security deposit and signed rental agreement are required prior to check-in. Waverley Properties will coordinate all guest communication and ensure a smooth, secure experience.

The owners have partnered with Waverley Properties, a professional property management company known for exceptional service and responsiveness. You’ll have a dedicated point of contact throughout your visit to assist with check-in, questions, or anything you need during your stay. While the owners are not on-site, Waverley Properties ensures everything is taken care of with the highest standard of hospitality.
