Great Family Home

Our home has high quality furniture, linens, cookware and tableware for your family dinners. There are large and small appliances (including airfryer) to help with preparation.
Enjoy a fully-furnished 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 1600 square-foot, single-story house in the heart of Winter Park, a wonderful town that is adjacent to Orlando and that is home to an array of restaurants, galleries, museums, up-scale shops, businesses, professional offices, parks, lakes and hiking and biking trails. Rollins College is just minutes away from the house by car. Address: 1827 Mizell Ave. (Between Lakemont and Phelps)

The house has hardwood or tile flooring in most rooms; a large fenced backyard with a brick patio, lawn furniture, and a grille; front covered porch; and a concrete circular driveway. It has SpectrumTV, Wi-Fi; a printer/fax/copier/scanner machine; and DVD/CD player with DVDs and CDs. There are central heating and air conditioning systems; ceiling fans; smoke alarms; and a lawn sprinkler system. Lawn and landscaping care is provided. Traditional decor also available during the holiday season!

Downtown Winter Park has an Amtrak station. Getting to or from Orlando Airport from the house takes about 30 minutes by car. Both I-4 and 436 (Semoran Boulevard) exits are about 10 minutes away. Grocery and drug stores, Winter Park Hospital, and the Crosby wellness center are all within walking distance, as is a bus stop. Baldwin Park and Winter Park's public golf courses are minutes away by car. The Atlantic Ocean beaches, Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and other major attractions are about a 45 minute drive away.

We are a professional couple -- a retired architect and a university professor -- who live in Pennsylvania. Our daughter-in-law lives down the street from the house and manages it for us. We love the house and intend to use and enjoy it more fully in the future. We believe that you will like spending time in it. Contact us for additional information and availability. Community outdoor pool and beautiful YMCA are both available within one mile. YMCA honors reciprocal agreements with many other Ys. Check with yours before leaving home.

Fantastic

We found this home to be very comfortable, organized, clean and homey. The location is great. Barbara was very helpful and the owners also made our stay in Winter Park very nice. We will be back! :)

Warm, inviting home!

This booking was our second time as guests of the Hartleys and we enjoyed it just as much the second time around. Staying at their home is like staying with good friends. We’ll miss the beautiful backyard and all the amenities in the home. They are lovely, gracious hosts!

Lovely Home in Charming WP Neighborhood

We stayed for a month with our 3 young children in this lovely home. It was well-supplied for a family stay, including plastic tableware for the children, puzzles, and books. The backyard is beautifully landscaped and fully fenced in for the children. Barbara was very responsive any time we needed anything!

Feels Like Home

The location and home were great. The home a traditional Floridian Ranch. Very comfortable and clear house manual. The backyard is beautiful. The office had everything to make work simple. I spent the majority of my trip alone. Very comfortable. Good home for grandkids too. You will need your own pack n play. They have kids dishes and cups. I will be coming back.

Perfect family stay

The house is perfect for family. It was one of the best stocked and organized house, with labels on every cabinet to make things easy to find. The beds were comfortable and the house was even more roomy than we expected. It was a perfect fit for our family of 4.

Perfect! Each detail considered

We stayed here with our college aged children for a week while they were on fall break. It was exactly what we were hoping for! It felt like a home not like a cookie cutter vacation house. The kitchen was extremely well stocked and I was able to cook during the week- all of our kid’s favorite foods with limited expense for common spices such as salt pepper Italian seasoning etc. The house was spacious-the hot tub was fantastic, the yard was amazing, and the community was exactly what we were looking for. We’ve already recommended it to friends who would like to stay in the Winter Park area as it has fantastic restaurants and the vibe are college students wanted. Thanks so much for allowing us to stay in your home and I would highly recommend it to others who are traveling in the area

Perfect location close to hospital

This property is ideally situated very close to AdventHealth Winter Park hospital, where a family member of ours is staying. This house allowed us to stay close by while he was recovering. Their space is cozy and comfortable with everything clearly labeled and explained, making it a nice home away from home for us. The owners are easy to communicate with and were very helpful when our plans were uncertain. Their kindness and warmth during this time was much appreciated. The outdoor space is calming and peaceful, making this a wonderful place for a family seeking something close to the hospital. The back yard is a very beautiful, calming, and serene space to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air.

Great stay

The home is located in a wonderful and very safe neighborhood. It is well equipped- especially the kitchen (there is even an ice cream maker!) and hosts are responsive to communications. The appliances are a bit outdated (fridge door doesn't lock well) and there was no hand-held showerhead (which made it a bit more challenging to wash our kids). Other than the above, we enjoyed the home and our stay and had everything we needed to feel comfortable. Highly recommended!

Amazing!!

Barbra the host could not have been any sweeter or accommodating. She literally made our stay Faboulous and wayyy beyond our expectations. Home is clean and has everything you could possibly need. Home is large, WiFi is great, cable tv, Netflix, hot tub, ac, and great pressure in the showers. I couldn’t have had a better home for our stay or a better host. Thank you so much Barbra will definitely be making this home our stay anytime I am in Orlando!!

We loved our 2019 New Years Visit & Stay!

We had a great time staying at this Winter Park home. From the very start, the communication was excellent with the owners as well as subsequently with the onsite property manager. The home was really perfect for our family of four. All of the home supplies you would have in your own home were all provided in this home - great coffee maker, cork screw, plenty of bath towels, note paper, etc. We loved the hot-tub and the outdoor fire pit when we chilling out in the evenings. With two college aged boys, a good TV as well as a good selection of cable channels are important and this family room was set up great for that. Lastly, the Winter Park area is beautiful. This home is situated in a awesome neighborhood that's fun just to drive around in and look at the various home. Close to tons of restaurants and shopping makes the location here just perfect.

Perfect Florida home away from the theme parks!

This home is a wonderful oasis located in an area replete with arts, shopping, culture & cuisine! The house itself is a classic Florida home, exceptionally well stocked for a VRBO, with modern amenities like broadband and on-demand television. It was literally a home away from home for us as we spent time with area family during the 2018 Christmas season. We loved staying in Winter Park and Nell & Barbara were wonderful to interact with! With all the great food in the area, I only cooked one meal, but cooking for 4 in the kitchen was easy. My osso bucco over spinach/cheese ravioli with a side of deep sautéed butter mushrooms came out exactly as if in our own home. There was even a cast iron pan for proper cooking; a relative rarity in a VRBO due to many people being unfamiliar with how to properly care for it. We took the scenic boat tour on the Winter Park lakes, ate at Hot Dog Heaven for natural casing hot dogs, Beefy King (check out the steam tables they use!), Tibby’s New Orleans, Bosphorous, the Briarpatch, Keke’s & other wonderful dining choices. Whether you want to look at the amazing homes, shop in world-class boutiques, enjoy nature, wine & dine, admire art and visit the theme park areas, this gem of a home in Winter Park is a great respite from corporate chain hotels. We would certainly stay here again when visiting the greater Orlando region!

This home is typical of the Winter Park/Orlando area that I grew up in. It is a charming cottage conveniently located to shopping, restaurants, entertainment, and Florida Hospital Winter Park. The one story home with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths was the ideal spot for our family! I would rent it again!

Great location, convenient to everything in Winter Park

The house is in a great Winter Park location, convenient to Rollins College, Publix, Mobil, and numerous shops & restaurants. Winter Park Hospital and the fire dept. also are just down the street. House is easy to navigate, and the backyard is beautiful. Homeowners and their local family are great hosts - easy to contact, quick to reply, and just all-around wonderful people!

Best Value in Orlando's Most Expensive Zip Code!

This super comfortable house was nestled in the Windsong section of 32789. This is the best walking neighborhood in all of Orlando! The house was equipped with everything we needed, and even more necessities the we were unaware we needed in a pinch. My wife, one year old daughter, and I were waiting for our home to be finished and we contacted Tom and Nell and explained our situation. Not only did they accommodate us, but they even bought our daughter a birthday present. They allowed us to have her first birthday party there. Besides being the archetype of true southern hospitality, Tom and Nell's house was well organized which allowed my family to hit the ground running with our busy schedules. The house had plenty of room for our family with a fully equipped office to boot. Besides being great hosts and conducting good business, Tom and Nell have become family friends whom we will cherish for years to come.

Feel at home!

The owners are very warm people. They welcomed my family with a card they sent to our house before their arrival. Also, they have lots of information for the renters to make their stay easier. The house is great, well maintained and has plenty of amenities so the renters feel at home . It is located close to stores and restaurants. I am totally sure we will rent this house when my family visits again. Thank you.

Perfect Family Stay

We recently had the pleasure of renting this lovely home. From the moment we spoke to the owners, about the possibility of renting, we were welcomed like family. The house is in a fantastic location close to everything you would need for a great vacation including movie theaters, restaurants, and grocery stores. We booked as last minute as it can get and had no problem arriving to a clean and comfortable house. The backyard is magical and our children loved playing in the grass kicking around the soccer ball. The house is set up with everything you can think of and beautifully furnished with comfortable furnishings. We loved staying there and hope to again in the future. Thank you to the owners for making the whole experience absolutely wonderful.

Amazing Place!

We really had no idea what we were getting into coming to Orlando, but had to be there for a summer dance intensive for two of our four girls at the Orlando Ballet. We searched all over Orlando, as the intensive had a location on the north and south side of town. We, miraculously, landed here and it was perfect! The house is just adorable, with plenty of space for our family of 6. The location was just amazing. We enjoy staying in shape, and the neighborhood made for just great walks and runs. For the triathlete in the family, there were 3 YMCA facilities within a mile (one 50 Meter pool, one indoor pool (a bit of a sauna), and one with a 25 yard outdoor lap pool and great kids facility). Cycling? Group rides (very fast with incredibly talented riders) pass by every morning, including the long-running Saturday Lakemont ride that originates at a shopping center just around the corner. Quiet, peaceful and lovely all around. The owners are great to work with, and their daughter-in-law lives just down the street. They are all just wonderful people! Not sure if we'll be doing another dance intensive but, if we do, we'll do everything we can to stay here again. Highly, highly recommend. Thanks so much!

We live in Sewickley, PA. Since our son was a student at Rollins, we have enjoyed spending time in the Orlando area.

We purchased this home when Tom was working in Orlando and our adult son was caught up in an eight year cancer battle. After his death and our return to Pa., we listed our home on VRBO as a way to help out-of-town people who needed to be in Winter Park . Whether they were dealing with illnesses, joyful college visits and graduations , visiting the local colleges / universities or simply coming home to visit family without needing to all stay under the same roof. We recognize the need for people to have an affordable option once the Lankford and Best Western were torn down. We also needed to give ourselves time before making a decision about the house. Our first guests had lost everything in Katrina and rented our fully furnished from us for several years until the end of their lives. We like the opportunity of helping others.
Selfishly, our family enjoys coming to visit Winter Park, where we have fond memories , a wonderful daughter-in-law and local friends. Being retired we are able to spend many winter months in this home. Renting our home to others helps to defray our costs. We especially like the idea of children's enjoying their time here.

The bedrooms and bathrooms are on either side of the large living area.The unique floor plan provides privacy for couples traveling together and or parents and children. The arrangement and furnishings support entertaining.
