Welcome to The Banker’s 1887 Penthouse, a refined upstairs retreat offering turn-of-the-century charm in a beautifully restored setting. Thoughtfully designed with high ceilings, original hardwood floors, and curated vintage décor, this spacious 1,650 sq ft penthouse sleeps up to 6 guests with a mix of plush and versatile sleeping arrangements.

1 Bathroom with vintage clawfoot tub (Note: Bathroom is accessible through the main bedroom)

More than just a place to sleep, this Penthouse is an experience. It’s a walk through history, a curated collection of charm and craftsmanship, and a celebration of community in the heart of Cleburne. From morning light over downtown to slow evenings filled with stories and laughter, it’s the kind of stay you’ll remember for years to come.
Guest access
Guests have full and private access to The Banker’s 1887 Penthouse, located on the second floor of the original 1887 Farmers & Merchants Bank building.

Important Note: Access is available by stairs only. There is no elevator, and all guests must be able to climb a full flight of stairs to reach the unit.

Entry is simple and secure with two digital code locks:

Main Door Access: You'll use your personal code to open the main door, which leads into a private stairwell.

Penthouse Door: At the top of the stairs, the Penthouse door at the end of the hallway also has a separate code to unlock.

Please note: There is a separate bedroom space currently under construction to the left when you get to the top of the stairs. It is not part of your stay at this time but will be added in the future to expand the Penthouse.

STAIRS ONLY: This is a second-floor unit in a historic building with no elevator. Guests must be able to climb one full flight of stairs.

Bathroom Access: The only bathroom is located through the main bedroom, which may require coordination for groups.

Future Expansion: A second private bedroom is currently under construction and not yet accessible during your stay.

Security Notice: For your safety and liability protection, security cameras are located at the building entrance and in the non-climate-controlled stairwell and hallway. There are no cameras inside the unit or in any private living areas. We deeply respect your privacy—these cameras are in place strictly for liability purposes and are only reviewed if needed (such as for a safety concern or policy violation). We do not actively monitor them or use them to police guest behavior.

Parking: One reserved parking space is located behind the building. Please avoid parking in the adjacent business lot. Free Public Street parking is also available.

Guidebook & History: A printed guestbook is provided, including local tips, emergency info, and the rich history of the building and downtown Cleburne.

The host sent excellent communication and has very thoughtfully stocked the unit with everything you'll need. It's been very beautifully remodeled and decorated while keeping the vintage charm. It was comfortable for our group of six and the perfect place to celebrate my bday girl's weekend getaway. I hope we can return someday and I highly recommend!
