With over 3,200 sq ft of interior living space, three lakefront bedrooms, decks with jaw-dropping views, and a cozy front porch with rocking chairs and a porch swing, this home is designed for both relaxation and fun. Located just 20 minutes from Charlotte Douglas International Airport, Uptown Charlotte, Bank of America Stadium, the white water center, and Carowinds, itā€™s the perfect city escape ā€” close to everything yet worlds away. Skip the traffic jams of Highway 49 heading into South Carolina or the bottlenecks toward Lake Norman; here youā€™ll enjoy quick access to the city while still feeling completely secluded on a quiet cul-de-sac.

We absolutely loved The Lake Wylie Lodge! Everything was so nice and clean, very comfortable beds, and plenty of space for a group or multiple families. Outside was gorgeous with full views of the lake. The upstairs deck was perfect and so was the downstairs patio with the gas fire pit and hot tub for 4. The dock was so nice with reef lighting and dock lights at night. We had a wonderful stay! The host was super helpful and quick to respond if we needed anything! Highly recommend this cabin!!

My stay was amazing so many things to do at the house no need to leave. This is a must stay if it is on your short list. Many deer and wildlife walking around made it that much more outdoorsy yet minutes from the city and airport. Owners were great to work with everything was seamless.

Something for everyone

We had an amazing week. Bill has a great sense of humor and does not over or under communicate. The home is set back and we had a lot of privacy. There was something for everyone and we even ditched the plans to do Carowinds and whitewater facility to stay at the house. We enjoyed basketball, fishing, pickleball, card games, kayaking, smores on the firetable, grilling each night, the hot tub, and more! Everyone wants to go back. The sunsets were amazing. The house is close to outlets, grocery store, and some great breakfast spots.

Outstanding from Start to Finish

What an amazing place, beautiful location, fun activities and oh so comfortable. View of the lake is breathtaking. The owner was on top of everything for us and responsive to every question we had. We will be renting again next year. So worth every penny, a must for a place to check out!

All of the reviews are so accurate this place is AMAZING. I honestly donā€™t think the pictures on the listing do this place justice and the price is so reasonable. The front yard is huge and has a pickleball court/basketball setup, giant yard for activities, fire pit, lots of space for parking. Backyard is a steep hill overlooking the lake with amazing views and a ton of space for groups to eat outside. Great dock that is easy to get a rental boat to and from with ease. The outdoor furniture is definitely on its last leg but thatā€™s the only knock for this place. Bill is a great host. Super laid back and very communicative. Seriously if youā€™re weighing options just go ahead and choose this place. One of the best stays Iā€™ve had at a VRBO.

Lovely Lake House

This is our second stay at Sawmill and itā€™s our absolute favorite place to be away from home. The pictures do not do this home justice. Itā€™s beautiful and so cozy. The home has all the appliances you could ask for. We absolutely love this place and plan to book here every summer, itā€™s become a family tradition and we couldnā€™t be more excited!

Just Wow!

The photos donā€™t do this property justice! Everything was absolutely beautiful and the space is MUCH larger than it appears in the photos. We were a group of 10 from ages 2 to 70 and there was ample room for everyone. The setting is gorgeous with an awesome back deck and dock. The owner has lots of activities there for every age group to enjoy. The owner was also fantastic, quick to answer any questions we had. The location is great, lots of amenities and activities close by. Only 30 mins to downtown Charlotte but feel like youā€™re a lifetime away. We have stayed in many VRBOs and so often you get there and there is literally one roll of toilet paper and one dishwashing tan, Bill has the placed pretty stocked, we of course used what we had packed but it was a nice change to see that we wouldnā€™t have run out of toilet paper our first day there if we hadnā€™t! Also plenty of blankets for those cold nights! Book this cabin, you wonā€™t regret it!

Beautiful place!

We thoroughly enjoyed this spot for some year-end quiet time and planning. This is a combo mountain cabin/ lake house. Fun decor with bears and rustic wooden beams you'd see in a cabin, but truly beautiful views and all the fun of lake house activities... Plus all that Charlotte offers close by? Perfect! Host was easy to reach. It was just two of us this stay, but it's definitely laid out for families or a group of friends. Good combo of space and privacy.
