Our two-bedroom villa has beautiful views of the golf course and/or surrounding mountains. Located in San Diego County with a near-perfect climate and within easy driving distance to the Pacific Ocean and mountains.

The resort offers families and loved ones an astounding blend of luxury, climate and culture - the ultimate vacation retreat to escape to.

The 600-acre Welk Resort has a waterpark with waterslides and children's interactive splash pads. Also, the resort is situated just minutes from world-famous destinations of San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park (20 minutes), LEGOLAND (25 minutes), San Diego Zoo (40 minutes), San Diego Gaslamp District (35 minutes), SeaWorld (40 minutes) Temecula wineries, area casinos, and some of the most beautiful beaches (30 minutes) in the world.

The villa includes sitting and dining areas, a full kitchen with all cookware and dishware, a patio and/or balcony, and complimentary high-speed Internet access. 3rd Time Was Not The Charm

This is my 3rd time staying at the Welk Resort and it was the most disappointing out of all of them. The staff this go around did not seem as friendly, the maid service showed up at 6PM and for 2 weeks at the resort, we had no Wifi. The internet situation as the absolute worst - I had to work during the trip since I was staying for 2 weeks and the only way to get connected was to hotspot my phone using precious data and by borrowing my relatives mobile internet and then couriering it back to Phoenix to her. After Complaining 3 times about the situation, we were told that the router that was supposed to be in our row of 4 villas was missing and there was nothing to be done. To make up for it - they gave us a free night that expires in the next 2 years, however after reading the fine print, you can't use it on holidays or weekends. Nice resort which is why we went back but horrible service this time.

Location was amazing for us going to Universal Studios and to Disneyland and Legoland the property was amazing and we would definitely stay again

Condo with Room

The condo I stayed in was very roomy. It was in a great location to San Diego (40min) and the beaches (20 min). They had great pools, including one that was designated for adults only!

Enjoyable

We own a timeshare at this location and for the most part, we all enjoyed it. We had a few issues and so I'm addressing those so a remedy can ve resolved by notification to Welk . The condo needs to be sprayed for insects. We had many spiders all over the unit. The dishwasher needs to be replaced as it didn't get the dishes clean. We had to run things through two cycles. the groungs were manicured but the entrances to the condo were in need of repair. Also, I'm assuming the shutters are being replaced with drapes that are too long and just gathered so you have to pull them open. Over time they are not going to hold up. Prefer the shutters that were on the livingroom windows and door. These are issues that we saw in the unit. The weather was perfect during our stay.

Perfect family vacation location

Beautiful location, convenient to many amusement parks and other attractions. The pools and activities are amazing! Water slides & snack bars at 2 pools, tons of family activities. Fitness center with rock climbing wall, tennis & pickle ball courts, sauna & steam room, and market w/Starbucks on site. We love Lawrence Welk & have been owners there since 1986!

Fantastic rental!

We loved our stay! Everything was spotless when we arrived. The villa/apartment had plenty of room and beds for our family of 6. We loved the balcony! And we had access to all the offered activities at the resort. We would definitely go back! Thank you!

Resort w/ plenty of room!

We loved our apartment. Very spacious & accommodating! Did not care for the upstairs neighbors. Every step was heard & they had 3 small children who ran until all hours ;once until 1:00am. I suggest getting an upstairs if you have older kids & a downstairs if you have younger. One thing not mentioned is in order to do any of the things on property (working out, ping pong, swim w/ water slides, etc..) you need a reservation. We didn’t know & were not told ahead of time! You can reserve up to 2 weeks in advance. So we were crap outa luck! Reservation information needs to be more clear on that. We had a comfy bed, full on kitchen, & ended up at the beach every single day.

Would use John again!

We just completed a week in a two bedroom villa. The configuration of the space allowed for privacy and it was extremely well appointed and equipped. John was extremely responsive and very easy and pleasant to work with. We traveled with our young grandchildren who enjoyed the activities, but I did think the quality of the child based activities was mediocre. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. I'd definitely recommend a stay at this resort and working with John.

Fabulous apartment and great week

Fabulous apartment, spacious, very well fitted out, huge balcony with dining table and chairs for all of us. Facilities on site were excellent- and loved the fact that pool tables were free, bats and balls provided for the table tennis, basketballs on loan for the courts. Body boards available to hire at low cost. Plenty to do and staff were very helpful. Only downside the pushy sales pitch to take out a time share. John was very helpful and responded very quickly in sorting our booking out

100% Satisfied

The Well Resort is great, especially for families with so many amenities to choose from at a reasonable price. The villas are spacious, in good condition and clean. Dealing with TravelScowt was 100% trouble-free.

Something for everyone

This resort was wonderful! The condo we had was very nice and well equipped with everything we needed. The entire resort had something for every member of the family from the adults down to my little 2 year old grandson! I especially appreciated how friendly and helpful all the staff were.

Exceeds expectations

This is a beautiful, well maintained resort with plenty of activities. The two-bedroom villas are spacious with really good beds. The kitchen is well appointed and it's easy to cook and bake. Be aware that there is only salt, pepper and coffee for 2 days. Everything else needs to be brought in as far as food goes. There's a small store on the resort. And on Mondays there's a nice size farmers market from 3pm to 7pm. We ate three times at the resort restaurants and we liked their food and their children menu. The agent for this listing, Sole, is very nice and helpful. I would love to come back and will definitely go through Sole again.

Owner service was great, we got two bedroom unit just two days before the vacation. Welk resort is OK, Pools were not clean at all 6 days we were there. Room’s service was not great too. Location is good. Units are good. You do not have to go for presentation, but if you have 3 hours of free time use it and get some extras. Promised 90 minutes of presentation is about 3 hours, but if you want some extras, ask as much as you want; they have a lot of perks to offer just to get you in. Price of timeshare is about $40K for a average 2 weeks a year, plus 14% APR on financing for 10years, so you pay about $50K in financing, total of about 90K USD. Do the math, and see if this is for you.

Great Family Stay

Fun stay with the family (kids age: 2,6, & 8). There were several rec centers--each had various highlights. Our unit was nicely decorated. Staff was friendly and courteous. We checked in @ 4:01, and there was a little bit of a wait - 20 minutes, but that tends to happen whenever you check in at a resort right at check in. You do need to drive to every thing outside the resort (and it is at least a 10 minute drive).

Great family resort

This is a great resort for the family. Quiet with pool facilities, golf courses and quiet. Kids were 8 & 6, had everything for them onsite. On the outskirts of Escondido, be prepared for time on the freeway to get anywhere. Reasons for not a 5 - shared condo living and could use a renovation.

Lawrence Welk Resort

My husband and I along with my in-laws visited the Lawrence Welk Resort this summer and had a great time. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was due to an ongoing issue with a a leaky refrigerator. I would have preferred not have had to deal with this maintenance issue - but to their credit they got it fixed. Otherwise, LW resort is a great place to relax, catch some rays, swim, golf and just do nothing ( ... sip wine!). The VRBO manager for the condo was great - a real sweetheart. I would definitely go back and recommend to others.
