I had a very disappointing experience staying at The Poin in Panama. When we arrived, we were unable to access the rental and spent hours trying to figure out how to get in. We were not able to enter the unit until around 7 PM, which wasted a large part of our first evening.
To make matters worse, the elevators in the building were not working, and there was no one available at the reception desk after 6 PM to assist. There were also no clear instructions or parking numbers provided for where we were supposed to park our car, which made the arrival process extremely frustrating.
Once we finally got into the unit, the problems continued. The shower flooded after the very first use, and there were ants throughout the apartment. It was clear the property had not been properly prepared for guests.
Communication with the host was also very poor. Messages went unanswered for hours, and the host never picked up the phone when I called. Because of all the delays and issues just trying to get into the property and deal with the problems, we were not able to enjoy many of the amenities that were advertised and that influenced our decision to book this place.
Overall, this stay was very frustrating and far below expectations. I would not recommend this rental unless these issues are addressed and communication with guests improves significantly.
I checked into this property on my birthday and had a dinner and a restaurant full of guest waiting for me that I couldn’t assist.
