Sobre esta propriedade
Fern Hollow Country Home
Tucked away on a quiet country lane, this down-to-earth retreat blends rustic charm with natural beauty. Watch deer graze by the pond, listen to a brook trickle through the woods, and gather on the spacious porch or by the woodstove. With plenty of room for families, a fully stocked kitchen, and outdoor dining, it’s the perfect spot to unwind and reconnect.
We’re just a message or call away if you need anything, but otherwise you’ll have the house and property all to yourself to relax and enjoy.
Fern Hollow is tucked away in the quiet hamlet of Fremont Center, giving it that secluded, off-the-beaten-path feel that makes for a true Catskills escape. While the home sits in a remote, peaceful setting, you’re still within easy reach of two of the region’s most charming towns—Callicoon, with its riverside shops, cafes, and weekend farmers’ market, and Roscoe, known for its fishing streams and classic small-town vibe. It’s the perfect mix of privacy and convenience, where you can enjoy a tucked-away retreat without being far from good food, local culture, and outdoor adventure.
A lockbox on the side of the house provides keys for entry through the door just off the porch, which opens into a small entryway near the kitchen. Guests have full access to the property and the main floor of the home. Please note that the basement, garage, and small outbuilding are not available for guest use.
Welcome to Fern Hollow
A down-to-earth country retreat where rustic charm meets wide-open skies. Nestled on a peaceful lane with deer grazing by the pond and a seasonal brook meandering through the woods, this is a home designed for slowing down and gathering together. Whether you’re here as a couple, a family, or an extended group, the spacious layout and serene setting make it a place to truly relax.
The Porch – Gather & Dine Outdoors
The large covered porch overlooks the backyard, offering space to enjoy morning coffee, long conversations, or family meals at the outdoor dining table. With seating for everyone and a BBQ grill nearby, al fresco dinners are as easy as they are inviting.
The Kitchen – Heart of the Home
Railroad-style and practical, the kitchen offers plenty of storage and all the essentials to make cooking at home simple and enjoyable. It’s stocked for everything from quick breakfasts to full family dinners. Just outside, the grill expands your options, making it easy to cook indoors or out.
The Living Room – Warm & Welcoming
Wood-paneled walls, brick accents, and a woodstove create a rustic, cozy atmosphere perfect for gathering. Curl up on the plush sofas with a book from the shelves, play a board game, enjoy the foosball coffee table, or watch a movie together. This is a space made for conversation, comfort, and the slow rhythm of country living- it gets even cozier with a working woodstove!
The Bedrooms – Restful Retreats
With multiple bedrooms, there’s plenty of room for everyone. Each space is thoughtfully furnished with comfortable beds, soft linens, and plenty of light. The layout works well for families or groups, offering both privacy and togetherness under one roof.
Just off the living room, you’ll find a cozy twin bedroom — a perfect nook for the kiddos, close to the heart of the house.
Down the hall, the floral double twin bedroom offers cheerful charm, with two beds and a lovely chair by the window, making it a sweet spot for reading or daydreaming.
Further along, the primary bedroom features two light-filled windows, queen size bed, a mirrored dresser, and its own television — an inviting space to unwind at the end of the day.
At the back of the hallway, a queen-size bedroom offers a restful retreat, quietly tucked away for extra privacy.
Each bedroom has drawers and a closet for extra storage, and a closet for your extra belongings.
The Bathroom – Spa-Like Touches
Between the primary bedroom and the queen bedroom, you’ll find the spacious bathroom. With its large glass-walled shower and sleek double vanity, it brings spa-like comfort into this rustic country home.
The Outdoors – Nature at Your Doorstep
Step into a backyard where wildlife wanders freely — it’s not uncommon to see a mother deer and her fawn near the pond. A trickling brook winds through the property, adding to the sense of seclusion and peace. Explore, play, or simply watch the light shift through the trees as the day goes by. Sit around the campfire for s'mores. Take the kayak out to paddle around in the pond. Miscellaneous outdoor kids toys keep the littles busy.
Whether you’re savoring a homemade meal, watching the stars from the porch, or cozying up by the wood stove, Fern Hollow offers the perfect balance of rustic simplicity and natural beauty — a true family retreat.
We highly recommend having your own car when staying at Fern Hollow. The home is located in a peaceful, rural area where public transit and rideshares are not available, and local car services are very limited. For those rare occasions when you do need a ride, we always recommend Upstate D-Tours, a reliable local service.
While the home is a single level home, there are steps to get up to the porch and get inside.
During extremely dry seasons, the pond levels can change drastically and sometimes appear more marshy vs spring and early summer when it reaches peak fullness.
