Book now for a soulful escape in the hills.
Darha House – Where Legacy Sleeps in Linen and Light
Nestled in the heart of Siliguri, Darha House is more than a homestay—it’s a soulful heritage experience. Inspired by the ancestral kothi of my great-grandfather, Thakur Ram Narayan Singh, a noble zamindar of Darha, this space reflects timeless dignity and warmth.
The façade exudes quiet colonial charm—arched windows, vintage-toned walls, and a courtyard kissed by morning light. Inside, the interiors are a slow dance of history and comfort. Each four-poster bed has been crafted to echo the grandeur of our family’s old home, with rich woodwork and vintage textiles that tell their own tales. From brass light fixtures to handwoven throws, every element has been chosen with love.
The teas we serve—Darjeeling and Assam—are not just brews, they’re experiences, carefully sourced from local artisans who’ve worked these hills for generations.
And then there’s the food—made fresh, only on order. The vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes served at Darha House are more than meals; they are heirlooms. Recipes passed down from our family’s Khansamas—the traditional cooks who once brought feasts to the zamindari tables—now lovingly recreated for you, by our in-house cook and host.
Darha House welcomes all. Whether you're a backpacker, a family, a couple, or a seeker of stories—we open our doors without bias and with open arms.
Affordable, inclusive, and rich in soul—Darha House is where heritage breathes and every guest becomes family.
At Darha House, we believe in sharing the joy of space. Our guests are welcome to enjoy nearly every part of the property:
• The Grounds – Feel free to use the beautiful exterior spaces for relaxed picnics, reading sessions under the sun, or even small, joyful mela-type gatherings.
• Courtyard Dinners – The outdoor dining area is perfect for warm evening meals under the stars or candle-lit conversations with family.
• Bedrooms – All our rooms on the upper floor are yours to enjoy in complete privacy and comfort, with four-poster beds that blend old-world luxury with modern ease.
• Campus-Style Freedom – The expansive property offers a large lawn area where you can play badminton, relax in the breeze, or simply take in the lush view with a cup of handpicked Darjeeling tea.
• Parking – We offer ample, free parking within the premises—safe and convenient for families and road-trippers alike.
We’ve designed Darha House not as a typical rental, but as a home where you're free to stretch, dream, and dwell in heritage.
