Lakefront cottage...swim, kayak, fish, hike, bonfires and excellent reviews.

Enjoy your morning coffee on the lakefront deck, listen to the loons calling, or make s'mores in the fire pit while stargazing. This is the perfect spot to enjoy a peaceful family vacation. Our beachfront is perfect for small children with a gradual depth and warm water. Hart Lake (also known as Little Silver Lake) is an all sports lake located just outside of Twin Lake, Michigan. There are 2 kayaks that you can take exploring for turtles, fish and other wild life. There is ample room for throwing a football, a frisbee or playing a game of horseshoes (equipment provided and found in shed). Pack light because also included are linens, towels, beach towels, all your paper needs, Wi-Fi, stocked kitchen, DVD, movie collection, flat screen TV, basic cable, Netflix and numerous streaming channels.

This charming cottage is located only 15 minutes from Cedar Point's Michigan Adventure Amusement Park, 10 minutes from Stonegate Golf Club, 30 minutes from Double JJ Ranch (indoor water park for rainy days), 40 minutes from Silver Lake Sand Dunes, 20 minutes from Muskegon State Park and numerous other attractions. For the girls, shop in downtown Grand Haven or Whitehall (awesome gift, clothing and specialty food shops).

Cottage is decorated for the seasons. One hundred and fifty feet up the road is the Manistee National Forest (2000 acres of marked and groomed trails for hiking, ATVs and Snowmobiling). For nature lovers, the bird calls here are fantastic. This cottage is lovely for those who want a peaceful place to relax, read, hike, cook, or just be. This is an amazing place for kids to fish, swim, roast marshmallows around the camp fire and play on their own beach. If you love the outdoors and nature, this is it! Come stay with us!

**Please note the fireplace is nonfunctional.

I slept in the bedroom with the two twin beds The threshold between that floor is 1”. There is no transition molding and there absolutely needs one. I stubbed a toe hard and will likely lose that nail. Future guests won’t notice after you install one. I’ll appreciate it for them.

The absolutely perfect place for enjoying our vacation. The location is within 15-20 minutes of so many places to explore in the Muskegon area. Val was the perfect host, answering our questions promptly even before we booked and afterwards. Check in was easy, the home was lovely and the view was so beautiful. The setting was so lovely and peaceful, we didn't want to leave.

Beautiful and very clean cottage in a very quiet lake neighborhood that’s not too far from town. We were a bit disappointed that the lake was overall pretty shallow and didn’t make for very good fishing. But we still enjoyed the cottage, nightly fires and just relaxing for a few days.

It's a very nice cottage in a very quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed fishing off of the dock,especially our 6 yr old who caught several fish. He loved it there! I liked having fires every night on the beach. We definitely plan on coming back!

Quiet Family get-away

Paradise! Val’s cottage was so cozy, quiet, and has everything we could need and ask for!!! We loved the little beach and the fishing was great. We traveled with our family (2 young boys and dogs). This was our first time to the West Side of Michigan. I highly recommend her cottage and will be returning.

Twin lake

It was very nice and the place was very comfortable nicely decorated everything was there the hostess very accommodating. We enjoyed our stay very much and close proximity to Muskegon where we got to enjoy the beaches with our puppy.

Family Vacation

Very relaxing Cottage for family bonding

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our week at this lakefront cottage. The place was very clean and well stocked with everything you need and then some. Finding an air fryer in the cabinet was a pleasant surprise. Me, my wife and our young adult sons did a lot of bonding playing games, sitting by the fire pit and kayaking on the lake right outside the back door. The fishing was great from the kayaks and row boat. We traveled to Muskegon a few times to play Pickle Ball, Miniature Golf and walk the beach on Lake Michigan. The communication with the owners was A+ though we had no reason to call them during our stay. I must mention the next door neighbor Mike who took us on an adventure that my boys will never forget. His generosity was well appreciated. I’d definitely consider staying at this cottage again.

Helpful host

We took our two granddaughters, ages 8 and 11, on a vacation and chose a place close to Michigan Adventure and Stoney Lake Stables for horseback riding. We had a great time, however, there was a power outage at the cabin because of a storm that came through. Our host, Val, was very helpful with keeping us informed as to when the outage was supposed to be resolved. She made suggestions for restaurants, etc. She helped us through the best she could, however we had to leave early. She was more than fair with the situation. We would definitely return if the opportunity arises! Everything was clean as a whistle and the cabin was well stocked with everything we needed.

Peaceful stay

We had such a relaxing stay at this lovely property. Close to Lake Michigan, furnished with everything you need for a relaxing retreat. The view from the main living area and deck and the privacy and peacefulness were perfect. Val was a very responsive and helpful host and the cottage was clean and well equipped. Would definitely stay here again!

Mini vacation

The place was perfect for the 5 of us. Eveything youll need is there. Do not overpack. Beds were comfortable. Used kayak and row boat. The lake was calm and beautiful. Silver Lake sand dunes 45 mins away. Michigan adventure 15 mins away. Would rent again.

Relaxing Stay on the Water

We had a great stay at Val’s cottage on Hart lake. I had my mom with me for Mother’s Day and my dog Roscoe. It was clean, well stocked with kitchen essentials and lots of clean towels and blankets. We enjoyed kayaking, bonfires, and walking around the neighborhood looking at all of the beautiful birds. We would recommend Val’s place to anyone!

Relaxing Stay

House was clean and comfortable. The lake was lovely and we enjoyed using the row boat and having bonfires. The hosts thoughtfulness made it easy to relax. I enjoyed having the yard space as many of the lake homes are very close together!

We feel so blessed to have found this beautiful place. We just purchased our cottage December 2012 and have already made great memories there. We skied at Mulligan's Hollow 7 times this past winter (boy do we get the snow here). We have had some fun spring weekends, and look forward to many more this summer. We live 3 hours away and have a wonderful property manager that has taken great care of our cottage and will take care of all your needs.

My family and I have been looking for this property for 3 years. This is a beautiful area. Hilly and curvy roads with that Western Michigan feel. This cottage is open concept with vaulted ceilings and 8 windows on top lets in lots of light. Our lot is one of the largest lots on the lake so you do not have neighbours at a very close proximity. There is so much room for parking .

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

This cottage is very private. The lot is very large and the neighbours are not very close. Many lake front cottages have neighbours right next door on both sides. This place is unique in that you have your space. Looking for peaceful night sleep, this is the place. We live in the city with cars, trains etc... We never sleep as well as we do when we are at the cottage. Hope you come and stay with us!
