Upland Hill Lodge - East Texas lake views

Upland Hill Lodge is a great place to have a relaxing vacation in the woods of East Texas! Purchased by new owners and completed renovated in 2015, Upland Hill is one of several private Lodges located at Hawkeye Hunting Club in Center, Texas. Upland Hill contains four bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, kitchen, bar, great room and a large deck with comfortable seating. Each bedroom has two queen size beds, a television with DirecTV and private bath. The great room has plenty of comfy seating in front of a stone fireplace. Right next to the living area is the recreation room with a pool table, extra seating and a beautiful view of one of two lakes on the property. Fishing and canoeing is available on these lakes and Hawkeye's pool and spa is in close walking distance. Center is a small town with an historic courthouse and many antique shops for a day's worth of shopping. The Lodge itself is about 20 minutes from Toledo Bend which is one of the largest bass lakes in Texas. At additional cost we can provide 5-stand (skeet) shooting, wobble trap and sporting clays. Woodland Family Reunion

The property was beautiful and the staff were very helpful. Especially James. The lodge was clean spacious and the perfect place to spend time with family. We will definitely stay again next time we visit East Texas!

Summer Get Away

We loved it!!!!! We had 6 adults and 4 kids in our lodge and we couldn't believe the space!! Beautiful place to just get away and loved the lake. We only wish the hot tub would have been working for the pool. We will most definitely be back!!

This stay was amazing!! Beautiful, peaceful, serene lodge tucked away in beautiful surroundings! The lodge kitchen came fully stocked with all cutlery, dishes, pots, pans, and cups. Tvs in all rooms along with seperate bathrooms and total privacy. With a pond stocked with fish and fishing poles to fish and boats to row out. Definitely going back in the future on more enjoyable terms!

Great getaway with plenty of space!

Really enjoyed our time at Hawkeye! Loved that we were able to use the Main Hall as a gathering point and sleep in the separate bedroom wing. Travis was always very responsive and quick to answer. The group also had a lot of fun doing 5 stand. Only issue was that one of our guests has a severe down allergy, and while they did assure us that there was no down in the bedrooms, the couches in the main hall were down filled so our person had to be wary of where they sat and of people touching them after they had been on the couch. Overall great stay and will likely return!

Boy's Retreat

Overall, I would say near perfection - although we did have a rather large group in the pool during "Our scheduled" time. Of course we didn't want to be that person and say something and they were nice. But it would have been nicer to enjoy the pool without kids jumping in, splashing, and messing with the pool cleaner like it was a toy. Maybe have a sign posting time by the pool might help, but again overall darn near perfection.

Stay was great, place was well manicured and tidy. The downtown square in center is also very cool place to visit.

Everything we Expected

Very wonderful stay at the lodge, the inside was nice and roomy, the rooms were nice and clean along with the bathrooms, and everything was set right. The field in front of the house was nice and spacious to play games and sports, the paddle boats provided were very nice to ride on the lake and the pool table was a nice touch as well! Enjoyed staying here for the 4 nights! Highly recommended!

Great little get away for the guys!

Very clean and set up for large numbers!

Upland Hill Lodge exceeded our expectations. The main living area was perfect for our family of 6 to be "together" but also able to do our own thing, be it read by the fire, play pool, work a puzzle, or play cards. Travis was available and willing to "help" with any questions. I highly recommend this place! Word of caution -you may have to go outside to place a call!

Timberview Lodge

There was a last minute problem with Upland Hill and Travis moved us tot the larger Timberview. The place was perfect for our reunion. We were able to accomodate the whole family very comfortably as well as our very elderly parents in wheel chairs during the day. This place is a gem in the East Texas Piney Woods. Thanks to Travis and the staff.

Family Vacation

We had family vacation at the lodge this year. We chose this lodge because of the accommodations. When my husband and I arrived everything looked out of date but fine. Later as we started to use the kitchen all we found was filthy dishes, stove and microwave. Mouse droppings on the counter and under the burners on the stove. I will say towels, bathrooms and sheets were clean. Don't plan on using the laundry room unless you bring a flash lohht and bug spray. Lights didn't work and it was very unkept. Hot tub wasnt hot just pool water temp and didn't bubble at all. Yard looked nice though.

Breathtaking!

This place is a diamond in the rough! When we drove in I was so nervous , but as we pulled into the drive of the cabin .... I was speechless. The views are gorgeous and Leah was amazing to work with. She was so accommodating and full of answers for ALL of our questions. The cabin was perfect for our family and very kid friendly. We have already made an agreement that this will be our new family tradition every year. I was sad to come back to the real world. Thank you Hawkeye for everything! The Seymour's
