The Shearers Lodge is set in a wonderful location fronting the Wellingrove Creek. Sitting on the front verandah, the quaint Matheson Uniting Church is in full view with the backdrop looking down the Matheson Valley between the Waterloo Range. The accommodation was originally the shearers quarters for the working shearing teams on Waterloo Station property. The building is now fully restored, with of course, much more luxury!

The space

The Shearers Lodge is set in its own private surrounding, and close to the old historic shearing shed. The accommodation is perfect for couples or family and group bookings. A group minimum of 4 rooms (8 guests in 4 rooms) is required for exclusive use of the Shearer's Lodge. With the perfect combination of classical style and contemporary comforts, there is access to a fully equipped modern kitchen and lodge room with an amazing stone fireplace. Relax and enjoy what this historic rural property has to offer. Waterloo Station is a great place to explore, with plenty of short walks or for the more energetic, hiking around the hills and ranges wildlife spotting or perhaps you would like to try your hand at fossicking, fishing or enjoying the beautiful Wellingrove Creek flowing through the property. Plenty of lovely swimming holes with turtles, platypus and various fish species in abundance. Fantastic for keen photographers or artists, yoga, well-being groups as well as cycling, car or any other special interest groups. Your stay includes use of all kitchen facilities, with large dining and lodge room, verandahs and outdoor areas for relaxation. The property is wonderful for couples, families and larger group bookings. For group bookings, the shearers lodgings has 7 bedrooms all with ensuited bathrooms. The lodge room has seating for up to 60 people for group functions.
