I'm struggling with the rating for this property because the home itself was quite nice. It was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. Unfortunately, the service and handling of concerns did not match the quality of the property.We specifically booked this home because of the pool and chose it over more convenient accommodations in downtown Ottawa. We were then informed between 9:30 and 10:00 p.m. the night before check-in that the pool would not be usable during our stay. While unexpected issues happen, the late notice left us with no practical alternatives and we felt the significance of this loss was minimized.There were also garbage-related issues that guests were expected to manage, despite the host having local cleaners and property management support. The home was understocked for six guests staying five days, with no facecloths, only one hand towel shared among three bathrooms, and just one bath towel per person. There was also no BBQ available, so we had to bring our own portable one.The host offered a 10% refund for the pool issue but declined to increase it after further discussions. This property has a lot of potential and could be an excellent rental. My disappointment comes less from the property itself and more from the lack of service, communication, and accountability when legitimate concerns arose.
