    The chateau is absolutely beautiful- just as shown in the details. We had 13 friends together across mixed age groups and it worked really well. Stella was very responsive and helpful when we had questions

    Wonderful stay at the Chateau. The weather was hot so the pool was well used ! The facilities were ideal for our family of 8 adults and 2 children from 3 generations.Martine, Stella and Phillips were very helpful during the week, helping us to organise a last-minute visit to a local Champagne house.The only slight negative ? We could have used a larger BBQ given the size of our group, however the kitchen is incredibly well equipped.Would definitely return in the future.

    Every bit as charming as it looks in the pictures

    We had a lovely holiday at Chateau Isle sur Marne. It's a very relaxing and picturesque place to stay. The heated swimming pool is perfect for the kids in the evening, and there is plenty to explore in the nearby lake and villages.

    Really unique experience in beautiful chateaux

    We had a wonderful week at the property. It is a truly unique place, and while fairly isolated, it was exactly what we were looking for, and what is described on the site.

    Absolutely stunning chateau in the middle of the French countryside

    I could not fault our stay at the chateau. Everything was perfect. The photos you see are exactly what you get and the building itself is stunning. We stayed for 3 nights to celebrate a special birthday and we could easily have stayed longer.

    Spacious rooms. Lots of room for our extended intergenerational family of 8 adults and 6 children aged 3-9. Something for everyone even in the winter. Owners welcoming and responsive to queries.

    We had such an amazing holiday at the property. We really couldn't have hoped for a better experience. On top of the chic decoration in the beautiful chateau, we really enjoyed the heated pool and the generous acres of private grounds for lovely walks. We would definitely want to come back!

    Perfect spot to celebrate my daughters 30th Birthday

    Lovely home with plenty of large spaces for the family to congregate. We enjoyed the pool and the children enjoyed the trampoline. 16 total people and there was always a way to get some quiet if needed. Highly recommend

    The castle is even better than the description and the photos. Very spacious. Lots of light coming in. Pool is warm and well kept. Martine is an excellent host and took good care of us. Highly recommend it.

    I booked this Chateau for my 30th birthday - the size and grandeur of the place exceeded my expectations. Martine was super lovely and helpful in helping organise and my questions. Just beautiful. Reccomend!

    Beautiful Property

    We all really enjoyed the time spend at the property. The organization was problem free. If i had any questions the property manager replied quickly and helped me with minor troubles like finding a taxi for a trip to a vineyard. Thank you very much for the possibility to spend a weekend at this beautiful house.

    Property was superb - even better than the pictures - we had a mixed family group to celebrate our 40th birthdays and it was so big and well maintained that we could do things together or separately throughout the week. Communication with Martine was easy and helpful. She was also very helpful throughout the covid delays.

    Marvelous ChĆ¢teau

    Due to the COVID we found this ChĆ¢teau beautiful stylish and nicely decorated. For our family this was a very nice place to be be. With the pool nearby which was well on temperature. The garden was very big but lacked a floral touch. Good thing was that we had enough shade to relax. We were delighted that the chez of the restaurant nearby cooked us a perfect meal in a perfect ambiance...For another stay we recommend to bring along a fan and cushions for the seats outside..

    Magical

    From 8 to almost 80, 10 family members stayed for a week at the beautiful Chateau. The weather was so hot that we did not venture far, used the pool, bbq and cycled and walked in the grounds. We saw deer in the morning and hare and herons galore. The only noise was from the frogs in the moat. Peaceful and secluded but in a lovely area, the birdwatcher was not only impressed with the grounds but the nearness of the lakes. Fantastic, we'd love to go back again.

    Amazing and relaxing retreat in the Champagne region

    Everything was lovely! The property is beautiful, spacious and well-equipped. We were a group of 9 and were quite comfortable. We lounged in the living room every morning with the French doors open to the garden, strolled the grounds and the village, and the mayor of the village even took us up in the bell tower of the church! The pool was refreshing in the heat, and we loved the nature sounds from all of the birds and frogs. :) Vitry-le-FranƧois is nearby and has several grocery stores and boulangeries. And Martine was easy to work with and so accommodating! We would definitely stay there again!!

    Back to the 18th Century

    The Chateau Isle-Sur-Marne was as beautiful as we expected from the photographs. We were impressed by the careful restoration and the tactful modernisation of the 18th century building. We enjoyed strolling in the estate and imagining ourselves living in the 18th century as we passed by the little statues of the period, trying to visualize Sophie Volland, the owner of the house at the time, reading the letters from Diderot, her friend, interlocutor and lover for almost 30 years. We were a big family group - 16 people, between 7 and 81 years old - and there was ample space for all of us, both for privacy and for community. The daily cleaning by Michelle and the meals that Martine suggested we ask the chef Denis Chatelet to provided for us, made a whole difference to this week of rest and pleasure. The heatwave which finally caught us up was unexpected, and the pool was essential for recreation and comfort.

    Family Celebration

    We chose this property based on previous reviews and were not disappointed. We were a group of 15 adults ranging in age from 18 to 87 holidaying together to celebrate my parents 60th wedding anniversary. Communication with the owner, Martine, was excellent. She always responded within a few hours and gave us lots advanced information on days out , restaurants etc. The property was much grander than we expected. High ceilings , huge rooms and extensive grounds were most impressive. It was great that every bedroom was magnificent meaning no arguements when rooms were allocated! There were plenty of rooms downstairs including a bar area , snugs and a billiard room which was great when the weather wasnā€™t so good. When the weather was good , which was most of the time , many hours were spent having fun by the pool . We had four dogs with us and found that the grounds were so extensive that there was no need to walk the dogs outside of the property. We would also recommend , as have previous guests, the services of local chef, Denis , who cooked a magnificent 5 course meal at the Chateau. We would very much like to return to this exceptional property in the not too distant future.
