An easy walk down to the beach, views of the community pool, and being just a stone's throw from the golf course means there's truly something for everyone! You can't go wrong either way. Wind down in the living area and watch your favorite sit-coms or movies on the flatscreen TV after spending the day at the beach or at the shared pool. This beachfront retreat boasts a convenient outdoor shower so you can cleanse off the sand, a shared gas grill, and even a balcony with great views.

Great shopping and dining in downtown Isle of Palms are just a short three-mile drive from the Wild Dunes community! Consider visiting the local marina nearby, which offers access to watersports, boat rentals, and more - or drive a short 17 miles to world-class restaurants in beautiful historic downtown Charleston. Book a boat tour to truly admire the Charleston harbor and spot some dolphins. They'll allow you to see The Battery, Waterfront Park, the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, Fort Sumter, and Castle Pinckney.

The unit was very nice and cozy. Very clean and tidy. Nice view of the pool from the private balcony. It was an easy walk to the beautiful pool and to the beach as well.We had issues with the 10-digit entry code because it was very finicky with timing and cadence. Extremely frustrating. Then the lock from the inside was not working so we were constantly worried someone with the code might be able to get in. The icemaker didn't work. Then the outside rinse stations didn't work either. But we did have a wonderful time in spite of the inconveniences.

Our stay was significantly impacted by the poor service and lack of responsiveness from the management company when we experienced issues. On day 2 of our trip, the washing machine leaked water all over. I contacted their support line and was told someone would be sent out ASAP. I had to follow up multiple times via text, only to receive generic responses with no updates. Eventually, a tech arrived and informed us a part needed to be ordered. I asked to expedite the repair, as a functioning washer was essential for our family of four. Despite continued follow-ups, we received no meaningful assistance. We had to use all towels to clean up the water and repeatedly asked for fresh ones, which were finally delivered the next day. In the meantime, we spent a significant part of our vacation hand-washing clothes and driving 35 minutes to a laundromat—something I wouldn’t expect to deal with at this price point. To make matters worse, water continued leaking for 2 days, even though I notified the management company multiple times. The washer was ultimately replaced—on the last day of our stay, making the fix useless at that point. They offered a 20/day reimbursement, which I have yet to receive. The time, effort, and frustration spent trying to resolve these issues were unacceptable. I have many screenshots of text correspondence, plus numerous phone calls. Due to poor communication, delayed response, and lack of support, I can only give this stay 1 star.

Senior trip

No problems with checkin. Clean condo in a quiet location. The island can get crowded and traffic backs up at times during peak season. A little overpriced for a week rental in my opinion but enjoyed the stay for somewhere different.

Was a nice property in a gated community. Short walk to beach and large swimming pool. Quiet area. Property was clean and well taken care of.

Good location. Unit needs a refresh

This is our second stay in this unit. Shipwatch is a great location (the reason for the three stars) but this unit is in desperate need of a few upgrades. Kitchen counter was broken off over dishwasher, couch needs replaced, some rust on the bathroom fixtures, to name a few.

Great location, comfortable unit

Nice, basic unit looking out over the water. It was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. Vacasa is completely automated and does not respond to small requests. Luckily we did not have anything major that we needed, just a few small broken items like lightbulbs, batteries and the toaster.

The location is great and everything worked perfectly. The only drawback was the master bed was uncomfortable and lopsided; made for restless nights.

Nice and clean condo with nice views

The condo and the location were great, the only issue I had was that the pool tiles were very dirty, that was pretty off-putting as we are big pool people, and it made me wonder about the overall cleanliness of the pool. Everything else was lovely.

Sewage problem

We always enjoy the beach at Wild Dunes but had a major sewage smell in the master bath. Unable to use shower and all had to use the remaining bathroom. Had to use lots of spray and keep the doors shut. Also a gnat problem probably due to the sewage smell. The unit was not properly cleaned and had to purchase coffee maker and cleaning supplies. Unit should not be rented until sewage problems resolved.

Great location

The property is in a gated community, which decreasd beach traffic and made our days in the sun more enjoyable. The accommodations were spacious enough for my family and everything we needed was there. Great balcony view and great local restaurants, too.

Location was the only good thing

My daughter and best friend and myself all booked a 3 night stay at Shipwatch C-116, we loved the location and the pictures looked great, clean, put together. We arrived not knowing it was in a gated community. We had no idea where to go or what to do and that was just the start. When we arrived in our Vacasa home away from home there was dried blood on the comforters and pillow cases, it was not clean, or anything like the pictures. When we went to Vacasa to report these things they said they would send housekeeping and change all the sheets and comforters for us. Instead we were given a garbage bag full of more sheets, not including anything we asked for. There were no beach towels or chairs or anything for the beach/pool. Everything was very cheap and not well kept or taken care of at all. The only good thing I have to say is the location was great. I do not suggest this specific condo.

Not very clean

This condo was on the second floor in a decent sized building. The unit had all the amenities needed except for enough toilet paper for 5 nights. It was a two bath condo and only one roll of tp in each. I contacted the manager and they said that is all we are supplied even though the contract says two rolls in each bathroom. They never brought more. The water pressure in one of the bathrooms was so low that you couldn’t wash your face or brush teeth. We used the kitchen sink instead. Should be an easy fix to get that working better. The bathroom was not very clean. Hair and other things in the floor. The floor in the main part of the condo was dirty and sticky. The location was great being close to the beach and pool. It was a bit deceiving that you couldn’t access the main pool at wild dunes without renting through them directly. We rented bikes and that was lovely to ride around the neighborhood every morning.

Outstanding experience

The property as just as advertised. A view of the ocean and the pool, spacious, clean, well equipped (see below), quiet after 10 as requested, comfortable. We specifically wanted a unit with a washer and dryer, and that was present and great. The only issue was the ironing board that had given up the ghost. The local Vacasa staff had a replacement (brand new) in less than a day. Without knowing the area, we chose a location that turned out to be several miles from anything when it was time to sight-see. That's on us as the listing was very sure to have a map to know where the property was. I would recommend both Vrbo and Vacasa for a easy and excellant experience.
