Welcome to Sugar Sands, a charming and intimate vacation treasure on the shores of beloved Madeira Beach. Sugar Sands offers a peaceful beachside experience with only three condos sharing a private pool and secluded beach. This lovely tropical oasis is just steps from the beautiful beach and laden with exotic and fragrant greenery, tropical huts, a BBQ grill, and an outdoor shower. Beach towels and beach chairs are available.



A unique blend of Florida fishing village, residential community and tourist destination contribute to an original vibe that is Madeira Beach. Mad Beach, as it's affectionately referred to, is that curious mixture of history, progress, and stability which, when paired with the perfect weather of Florida's Gulf Coast, makes for a delightful community. Measuring only two miles long, this small seaside gem draws beach lovers to its pristine white sandy beaches. Madeira Beach is home to John's Pass Village and with six public parks, boat-accessible restaurants, charter boats, and dolphin watch cruises, it has something for everyone. Dog-friendly beaches include Bicentennial Park, Fort Desoto Park, and Boca Ciega Millennium Park.



Sugar Sands C is on the second floor and offers 2,500 sq. ft. of homey beachside living penthouse style. This retreat offers fabulous views from the sunroom, dining area, and main suite, and all the comforts of home with a nicely appointed kitchen, wine refrigerator, and breakfast bar. Three bedrooms have private full bathrooms, TV, and king beds, a rare luxury. The magnificent main suite boasts a charming sitting area overlooking the glistening Gulf of Mexico. And last but not least, the fourth bedroom has two sets of full bunk beds, a TV, and a handy sink and refrigerator.

Elevators are not available.

Free shared on-site laundry.

If you choose to bring a dog, they are not allowed in the pool.

Breeds not allowed: Akita, Australian Blue Heeler, Boxer, Bull Mastiffs, Chow, Dalmatian, Doberman, English Bulldog, Great Dane, Husky (any type), Malamute, Mastiff (any variation), Pit Bulls, Presa Canarios, Rottweiler, Saint Bernard, and Wolf-dog Hybrid.

The property was as advertised. The location was perfect and the pool area was clean and well kept. The only suggestion would be some simple cleaning supplies over and above the dish soap and laundry soap.

Perfect Multigenerational Beach House

This place is amazing! The view is spectacular. While there are two large condo complexes on each side, you would never know as they are hidden by trees. We were literally steps from the beach - perfect for the aging parents (however the steps going to the second floor maybe challenging for them). Our stay was a bit stormy at times so it was great to be able to just head right for the house when poor weather was about (reminder: stay off the beach if you even hear lightning! Less than a mile away lightning stick a family under an umbrella). It is a bit older but the location makes up for that. Note the bunk room does not have a door. I would suggest bringing a spring rod curtain rod and a curtain for privacy. We did have a few issues with appliances but the attending to service was great. The kayaks were not usable (luckily it was adults attempting to use them) and there was only one grill for 3 apartments. We loved the pool table and the fridge was very large with craft ice. Family is asking for repeat stay!

Holiday fireworks up and down the beach. Bring water shoes as it can be quite shelly as you get into the water.
Sunsets are gorgeous. Plus every morning we watched dolphins swim by. Shelling was terrific, too. There are no lifeguards in this area. We did spot a stingray (or type of one) and did spot a šŸ¦ˆ up the a bit from the house.

House was nice. Location was good. Host was very responsive to the many problems.I realize that the area is still recovering from last years hurricane. Obviously we were the first guests since property restoration. Some appliances not yet functional and grill not replaced but these were quickly addressed.My biggest issue was MAJOR construction restoration being done right next to us on both sides. When we sat out by the pool we couldn't talk to each other for the noise and diesel smell. I have videos but won't bother posting them. This went on every day for 8 - 10 hours. We had to leave the property to enjoy our vacation.Listen, I realize that repairs need to be done but we should have been made aware of the situation before spending 10,000 on travel and rental, etc. for a family vacation that we looked forward to all year. We would likely had gone another way. We will shop around before booking with this site again.

Loved the pool so close to the Gulf

Very nice place in a beautiful location. Very clean. Loved that there was a pool so close to the Gulf of Mexico. The two lower units were not being used so we enjoyed having the pool to ourselves. Only bonus would be a patio that we could be outside or communicate with the people in the pool without having to actually leave the unit.

Penthouse dated & needs TLC

The penthouse unit was spacious and the floorplan was perfect for our large family. It felt like we were in a quaint private villa. After we got settled the flaws began to show: - The master bedroom was infested with mating termites. There were termite wings on the floor as if no one had cleaned the floor. - The electrical outlets on the outside wall in the master bedroom didn't work. - The floors throughout the unit were dirty after supposedly being recently mopped. - The hot water in one of the bathrooms never got hot. - The exhaust fan on the cooktop didn't work. - The occupants in the unit below the penthouse reported having cockroaches.

Location was perfect , unit is clean and functional. One fry pan that was old and dirty , stove top was old, beat up and did not function as it should, very few games, no extra blankets in the event someone was chilled . These are all small things that should have been attended to by the owner

Perfect Beach house

Very nice house, pool table is awesome and the house was comfortable and clean. The check in process was kind of a pain in the butt. We got in late and was expecting to get in and get comfortable. The code they gave us didnā€™t work and we were on the phone with property management trying many codes. It took us 45 min to get checked in after our 5 hour flight. The pool was cold and not heated as stated in the description. However the house was perfect and fun for all of us. The beach access was awesome and the house had everything you needed. Bedrooms were perfect and pool area was great. Very nice place to stay!!! You wonā€™t be disappointed

Family Vacation

The condo is in a great location. We visited in November so we were the only ones at the condo. There is the penthouse uptop then two smaller units below. The pool was great to have. Its right on the beach. Johns Pass is about an 8-10 minute trolly ride. The Winn Dixie is a quick 10 minute walk across the street. I would visit this place again simply for its location. The condo itself was a bit run-down with rusty showers and faucets. The big room with four beds also did not have a door which was not advertised. But overall I'd recommend this condo for the location, pool, size of the property and access to the beach.

Great Place

Perfect location and a nice place to stay. We had a great time. I stay in 20+ rentals a year and wouldnā€™t hesitate to book this again. Good cookware, beach towels, beds, pool, patio, grills, grocery stores and restaurants.

Ruined vacation

Property was under construction even though we were told all construction would be completed before we arrived, pool was so filthy could not be used , unit was not cleaned before we arrived I donā€™t think it had been cleaned in a long time food and filth all on floor could not walk barefoot without feet turning black sheets were filthy only one bath worked and it had black mold in it place is very old and needs a lot of repairs

Family winter vacation

Be aware, if you contract via Vrbo you will be charged booking fees 2x (22% of rent in total), go direct to the property manager. GOOD: Unit is spacious, large kitchen, bathrooms upgraded, laundry on premises, outside cooking option, plus parking. Excellent location right on the beach! BAD: pool is NOT heated! Two smaller units on the 1st floor, amenities are shared. The pool deck (25% closest to beach) is under re-construction, and looks like it will be for a while. Pool table has seen better days. Unfortunately we experienced "red tide", windows had to be closed, very warm inside as we learned the A/C was iced over and didn't work until defrosted late in the week. Couldn't go in the ocean, pool very cold, everyone suffering from "red tide" allergy-type effects. Best feature, close to good restaurants, bars, and grocery stores. Weather was very good.

Family friendly

Steps to the beach, this was by far the best part about the house. We loved how quickly and easy we were able to walk straight out with all the kids. We had a group of 14 and there was plenty of room and sleeping accommodations were perfect. Close walking to restaurants and groceries which was great because we didnā€™t rent a car. They only thing we had a complaint about was that the deck was peeling paint and screws were sticking out, which explains why the deck was currently under construction to repair. We were not informed of this prior to arriving. Regardless, we had a great time.
