Villa "Mediterraneo" with two charming apartments and swimming pool (heated), only 30 meters from the sea: small island of Kaprije (Sibenik).

The price is shown per apartment, so the price of the whole villa (for up to 13 persons) is double (the villa consists of two apartments).

Listed price is for a stay longer than 3 nights. Otherwise, there is a short stay supplement: 20% for 3 nights, 30% for 2 nights and 60% for a 1 night stay.

In high season (July-August) the booking is on weekly basis (weekend-weekend) except in case of last minute booking.

DESCRIPTION:

All rooms are bright and sunny, with French doors that open onto a private, generously proportioned balcony/terrace overlooking the sea and hillside. The backyard contains a spacious patio with a gazebo/pavilion, a summer kitchen, an open shower, a big barbeque and a lush garden with Mediterranean herbs and a swimming pool.

The patio is shaded by the wine tree where in the late September hang juicy red grapes. This is a delightful spot for enjoying the morning cappuccino, lunch or dinner. The barbecue area is stocked with firewood (a traditional stone hearth with peka - a cast-iron dome placed over coals).

The six-meters long heated swimming pool will bring most joy to your children. It contains underwater lights, hydromassage, volley net, water-polo goal, balls and air-mattresses.
The swimming pool is located in the garden, lined with lavender shrubs and canopied by olive branches. It is accompanied by deck-chairs, beach umbrellas and a sun shower.

GETTING THERE:

Your only task is to reach Sibenik. Then you can relax and let us arrange everything else.

If you are arriving by car, we will meet you at the Sibenik town entrance and take you to the parking lot in front of our house (free of charge) where we can look after your car during your stay in Kaprije (cars are not allowed on the island).

We will go to Kaprije together, either by ferry or by our boat, and transport your luggage to the apartment. Then we return to Sibenik, leaving you to enjoy the island.

If you are arriving by plane or by boat to Split or Zadar, we can organize the transfer to Sibenik (airport shuttle).

Quiet island retreat

Lovely property in Kaprije that suited us all. Good facilities, within walking distance of amenities. Amazing food and friendly local people.

A uniquely relaxing experience

We were all drawn to the ideal of a quiet relaxing family holiday, on an island, with no cars, but a little daunted about whether there would be enough to do, enough choice of food, enough space. None of these were a problem. From start to finish, we had a glorious time on Kaprije, and would recommend the apartments and the island. Our journey to the island was considerably easier than it might have been under our own steam; we took advantage of the travel options offered by Kristian and Jagoda. Leave Split airport by car (with supermarket stop) then sailed to Kaprije on Kristian’s boat for an hour. The apartments are both excellent. Fully equipped with everything you could want. Kristian has thought of everything - we were pleased with the water coolers in each apartment. The kitchens are well laid out. Every bedroom has a balcony with differing views, sea or pool, all delightful. There were seven of us in the two apartments and there was more than enough space for everyone. There are hammocks where the girls spent lazy afternoons reading, gently swinging; plenty of loungers, around the pool and at the sea; a table for 14 by the grapevine; a summer kitchen, useful as the apartments do not get hot if the oven is used, comfortable beds. The island has one bakery and one shop and between the two you can do pretty well for provisions. The ferries come in four times a day and so the shop is regularly topped up with fruit and veg. Kristian also will bring more hard to find items from the mainland. There are a good selection of restaurants - Kod Kate (great food, very fresh, more pricey than some), Šampjer (delicious steaks, black risotto, great fish and perfect vantage point for the sunset), Neptun for pizzas and ice cream. The village can be really buzzy at night with plenty of family activities, can also be sleepily quiet in the day. The island is beautiful. Blues and greens. The sea is so clean, aquamarine and emerald, breathtaking. We took two trips on Kristian’s boat, one to different islands and their beaches, the other to Šibenik (a fascinating city, winding streets, quite Venetian, try She restaurant for a vegetarian treat). Both trips highly recommended. Kristian is a very kind and helpful host, he was attentive to our needs, whilst giving us privacy and space, very good at keeping in touch, going the extra mile to make the holiday comfortable and enjoyable. I would thoroughly recommend Apartments Mediterraneo.

Wir hatten einen schönen und abenteuerlichen Urlaub auf Kaprijie. Beim erkunden der Insel sollte man fit sein da es oft Stein und Kieselwege sind, abseits sogar sehr felsig. Es gibt viel zu erkunden so das wir sicherlich nochmal wieder kommen werden. Das Haus hat alles was man braucht, klein aber fein! Die grosse Terrasse hat uns jeden abend lustige Momente gebracht, egal ob beim Kartenspielen, Dat spielen oder einfach nur den tag ausklingen lassen. Der Vermieter ist freundlich und zuvorkommend und stand immer für empfehlungen oder Ausflüge mit dem Boot bereit. Wir können es sehr empfehlen

Der Aufenthalt war in der Nachsaison, daher ist es auf der Insel sehr ruhig gewesen und nur wenige Urlauber. Dennoch waren einige Gaststätte offen und der Aufenthalt war traumhaft. Der Gastgeber selbst sprach englisch und war sehr freundlich und entgegenkommend. Die Villa selber ist sehr schön, die Wohnung gut eingerichtet und wir konnten den Garten mit Pool und Sommerküche sehr genießen. Nachdem es fast keine Einsicht durch die Nachbarschaft gab, war sogar Nackt baden möglich :-)Der einzige Nachteil war die Schifffahrt Anbindung die nur 2-3 mal Täglich (z.T. ungünstige Zeiten) fahren. Das ist jedoch auch mit der Nachsaison zusammenhängend.Liebend gerne kommen wir wieder! I will be back! :-)

Wunderbar erholsamer Urlaub, perfekt zum Runterkommen!

Sehr schöne, gepflegte und liebevoll ausgestattete Wohnung in ruhiger Lage mit schönen Balkons! Extrem nette und engagierte Gastgeber! Ab der Ankunft mit dem Auto am Hafen klappt alles und man kann sich entspannen. Der Garten mit dem Pool und Patio ist ein kleiner Schatz. Überhaupt, wenn man dann noch bekocht wird (das liebevolle Begrüßungsessen ist die Wucht!) Ein Motorboot steht zur Verfügung, soweit man den Schein hat. Wir haben es nur einmal gebraucht und dafür noch einen ganztägigen Bootsturn gebucht, das Highlight der Woche! In geringer Entfernung sind mit dem kleinen Boot schöne Bade- und Schnorchelplätze erreichbar. Die Strände auf der Insel selbst sind eher mittelmäßig (Felsen, nur eine kleine Kiesstelle in einer allerdings wunderschönen Bucht, die aber leider ein wenig vermüllt ist). Aber der Einstieg direkt am Haus ist zwar betoniert, aber sonst wirklich schön. Den haben wir die meiste Zeit genutzt. Das Wasser ist wunderbar klar, der Blick erholsam. Das kleine Dorf Kaprije hat großen Charme. Danke für den schönen Urlaub!

Dias divinos na Dalmácia

Moro no Brasil: conhecido por ser “um país tropical, abençoado por Deus e bonito por natureza”. Também é um país com um povo muito hospitaleiro. Para minha surpresa, me senti em casa na Croácia! A paisagem é divina, a hospitalidade impecável e a comida deliciosa (muitas vezes preparada pelo próprio Kristijan). Passei dias inesquecíveis com meu marido e minhas duas filhas de 4 e 5 anos. Kristijan preocupa-se com todos os detalhes para que seus hospédes tenham uma ótima experiência. O apartamento é bem decorado, aconchegante e acolhedor. Os passeios são encantadores. Ele nos ajudou a preparar um roteiro maravilhoso com atividades que agradaram adultos e crianças. Tivemos a oportunidade de ter conversas agradáveis, regadas a bom vinho, até mesmo em português – algo que não imaginávamos encontrar em terras eslavas! Vamos voltar com certeza! Ruhiger, schöner Herbsturlaub

Wir waren als Familie (2 Erwachsene, 2 Jugendliche im Alter von 13 und 14 Jahren) für 8 Tage in der unteren Ferienwohnung Rustico. Diese war tiptop sauber und sehr gut eingerichtet. Badezimmer klasse, Betten gut, Küche bestens ausgestattet (Geschirrspüler!). Auch gute Pfannen und sonstiges Kochgeschirr war vorhanden. Zum Empfang gab es ein wunderbares Abendessen - trotz Grill-Lastigkeit wurde auf die vegetarischen Wünsche eines Großteils unserer Familie liebevoll eingegangen. Die Insel selbst war zum Reisezeitpunkt leider völlig ausgestorben. Kein einziges Restaurant hatte mehr geöffnet, abends ausgehen war undenkbar. Das muss man mögen, die Insel hat ihren ganz eigenen, etwas einsamen Charme. Soll wohl auch während der Saison nicht großartig anders sein (bis auf 2-3 Restaurants, die dann geöffnet haben). Es war ein wunderschöner, entspannender Urlaub. Für unsere Kinder vielleicht etwas langweilig, sie fanden die Ausflüge nach Sibenik am besten. Aber ansonsten ist die autofreie, gemächliche Atmosphäre einfach schön! Wir haben selbst Anfang November noch jeden Tag im Meer gebadet (als Nordsee-Anwohner ist man in der Hinsicht allerdings abgehärtet) - das Wasser war klar und sauber! Der Vermieter selbst lebt auf dem festland, ist aber oft vor Ort - und unglaublich kümmerig! Wir hatten das Gefühl, er würde sich ein Bein rausreißen für unser Wohlbefinden. Ich fand es insgesamt wunderschön und werde auch noch einmal wioederkommen - aber eher ohne Teenager.

A Superb Location for a Great Holiday

We very much enjoyed our stay in this fantastic villa on the beautiful island of Kaprije. We were lucky enough to have warm, sunny weather for the full duration of our stay. The villa was spacious and very well-equipped inside but it was the outside area where it was truly exceptional. The swimming pool was ideal in the heat and the patio area was a great place to spend the evenings. I particularly liked the hammocks and the sound system. The bikes were very useful in exploring the island or making a quick trip into town. Our hosts were very accommodating and were happy to help where possible to make sure that our stay was a good one. It was much appreciated. The island itself is quiet and the lack of cars makes everything seem more laid back. The one shop provides all the basic provisions you are likely to need and, although some of the restaurants were closed when we visited, we could still find some top quality food. I particularly recommend dining at Kod Kate. This is a special place and hopefully, I will return one day.

Relaxing stay

The moment you arrive on Kaprije, the trials and tribulations of everyday life are spirited away as you become immersed in the gentle rhythms of the island. The days are troubled by little more than having to decide whether to swim in the crystal clear waters of the bay or take a dip in the apartment’s tranquil pool, surrounded by the gentle hum of crickets and the scent of herbs from the pretty and well maintained garden. The apartment itself is a real treat, comfortable and homely with all the facilities you could need, plus little extras, such as the summer kitchen and patio area and hammocks slung here and there all perfectly placed for a snooze in the shade. Our host, Kristian was welcoming and accommodating. He can facilitate anything from transport to arranging trips to the nearby island, made all the nicer because his whole family is involved in making your stay as perfect and hassle free as possible. The welcome meal was an unexpected treat; a delicious, leisurely meal prepared by Kristian’s sister, Iva where drink flowed as freely as the conversation. That personal touch made it really special-such a lovely way to start our stay. Where to eat was also one of the most pressing decisions that needed to be made. The cooking facilities in the apartment are very good and there is a barbecue outside but the limited availability of fresh produce from the one little shop on the island meant that eating out in the evening was our favoured option and for such a tiny place, there is a lot of choice. Our favourite restaurant was the third one along (Buffet Kaprije)-we called it the Grappa Restaurant because of the complimentary bottle you received at the end of every meal. The fish and meat was grilled outside and there was often a pig being roasted. The service was great and so friendly and the food inexpensive, simple and just delicious. Our days on the island were filled with very simple pleasures which you sometimes forget or fail to prioritise in the hurly burly of everyday life: reading; exploring the island; swimming; lazing; eating good food and passing time with people you love. It was very difficult to leave Kaprije but when I am at home and life starts to be stressful, I can close my eyes, recall the clear waters, the lapping of the sea and the feeling of the sun on my face and remember what is important.

DES VACANCES INOUBLIABLES

Le propriétaire a su nous conseiller très judicieusement pour organiser notre voyage et notre séjour. Nous avons été accueillis avec beaucoup de gentillesse et tous nos besoins ont été anticipés. La villa est au calme à 500m du centre ville. Décorée avec gout et du sens pratique, cette location est plaisante à occuper. La cuisine d'été, la grande terrasse et la piscine sont de vrais atouts pour profiter du soleil. Le bateau mis à disposition présente un avantage très appréciable qui permet d'admirer librement les beautés des environs. La maison le jardin et la piscine ont été constamment entretenus. Le repas de bienvenue était un véritable délice digne d'un très bon restaurant. Le propriétaire parle parfaitement l'anglais et est à l'écoute de tous vos souhaits.

I was born in 1975 in Sibenik, a small Croatian coastal town. I finished Natural Sciences Grammar School in 1993 and moved to Zagreb to study. There I discovered my passion for traveling and getting to know other cultures. I founded Croatian-Brazilian Society and co-founded Croatian branch of student organization Board of European Students of Technology (BEST). When I graduated as electrical engineer (and as professor of Portuguese), for 9 years I worked as manager in a multinational telecom company. I got a chance to visit wonderful parts of the world, either on business trips, or traveling independently.
When my 3 children were born I decided to change the lifestyle and to pursue my vision of a calm family life in balance with a job where I would not be liable to my boss but only to the customers. I left the corporation and big city, and returned to my home region (Dalmatia). We settled in a quiet coastal village close to my hometown, and I fully devoted to tourism. I used experience from my travels and from my job to try to raise tourist service level in my community, both through growth of my accommodation offer and through volunteering as the vice-president of the Association of Private Accommodation Owners in Croatian Chamber of Commerce.

In the late ‘80s my father bought a land on a beautiful island close to our hometown. He started to build a humble beach house for our family, but the progress was very slow because he did not have enough money to hire a construction company so he had to build everything with his own hands, only occasionally assisted by some friends. I helped him as much as I could, but I was still a child. Building a house on such an isolated island was very difficult because all the material (even gravel) had to be brought from the mainland, and as there was no ferry connection, my father had to bring all building material by his small boat.
In 1998, when me and my sister were in the university and my parents’ salaries barely covered the cost of our studies, I suggested my father to take a bank loan to finish the house and then to rent it during the summer season in order to return the loan. As it was soon after the war in Croatia, he was worried that in case of further instabilities the tourists (who slowly started to return to our region) would disappear again and then he would not be able to pay off the loan. So I suggested him the opposite approach: to start renting the house although it was unfinished (at a low price) and then use every season’s earnings to continue finishing the house. I was in charge of advertising and booking (I created our first Web site in year 2000, while still many Croatian hotels did not have one), and I helped my parents with hosting and maintenance. Although this plan was successful and the completion continued, it still progressed very slowly. 3 years later I graduated, got my first job, soon I got married and then my wife and me decided to invest all our savings and future earnings to accelerate the house completion. 3 years later, in 2005, the house was finally finished. Then we focused on the yard and garden - every year we added something: paved the terraces, built the pool, gazebo, pergola, canopy, sunbathing area, depositories, etc.
