The Space:
Pine Desert Ranch is a 2,400 sq ft Spanish-style home on a hill in Joshua Tree's Panorama Heights neighborhood, beside massive boulders with sweeping mountain views. White stucco, a clay tile roof, arched porticos and warm terracotta Zia tile give it a sunny hacienda feel, and its U-shaped layout wraps around a central courtyard with a fire pit, a saltwater hot tub and a cowboy tub. A game room with free arcade games and a home gym add plenty to do between hikes, and the edge of Joshua Tree National Park is an easy walk away. A king primary with its own patio and soaking tub, plus two queen rooms, all on Avocado mattresses, make it a good fit for families and groups of up to six.

-Outdoor Amenities-
Walk out the door in the morning and head for the boulders at the edge of the national park. Back home, every room opens toward the courtyard, where palms and a strip of green lawn sit between the white stucco wings. Built-in concrete benches with cushions flank the gas fire pit, and concrete bar tables hold the drinks and snacks.
Spend the afternoon on the cedar deck beside the 10-foot cowboy tub, which has a daybed for drying off in the sun; it is not an in-ground pool and is closed November through March. Grill on the propane BBQ under the covered patio, roll a game of bocce, then light the fire pit as the sky fades. The seven-person saltwater hot tub glows after dark, with desert trees and mountains behind it.
-Living Area-
The living room is warm and easy, with a cognac leather couch, woven chairs, an arched window and Zia tile wrapping a decorative (non-working) fireplace. Pull an album from the large record collection, drop the needle and settle in, or switch to the large flat-screen smart TV for movie night.
-Game Room and Gym-
The game room glows violet and is packed with free arcade games, Skee-Ball, foosball and air hockey, no coins needed, with beanbags for whoever is waiting their turn. Next door, the home gym has multiple benches, a barbell with Olympic plates and a full set of dumbbells.
-Kitchen and Dining-
The fully equipped kitchen has high-end appliances, gray cabinets, open wood shelves and a Zia tile backsplash, with spices, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, utensils and cookware stocked. Grind Joshua Tree Coffee Co. whole beans for the drip coffee maker, then sit down at the wood dining table for six next to the kitchen. On warm nights, dinner moves to the courtyard bar tables.
-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-
The primary bedroom has an Avocado king mattress, a ceiling fan, a walk-in closet and a sliding door to its own private patio, so your first coffee can be outside. Its ensuite bathroom has a large walk-in shower and a freestanding soaking tub set against warm clay tile. The two other bedrooms each have an Avocado queen mattress, rattan or arched headboards and easy access to the courtyard. They share a second bathroom down the hall. Both bathrooms have Zia tile and modern fixtures.
