Family-Friendly Humarock Beach Cottage - Humarock

Humarock Beach is a picturesque seaside village of Scituate, MA, surrounded by water and situated on Cape Cod Bay midway between Boston and Plymouth. This particular Ocean Drive neighborhood has always been our favorite spot on the Humarock peninsula. "Shore Bet" beach cottage is located about 150 yards from private Humarock Beach, and the same distance to the South River. It's also a short walk to the village center, and steps from the gorgeous sand dunes with protected wildlife and trails to fully take in where marsh meets sea. A few of our favorite activities are kayaking, paddleboarding, and striper fishing in the ocean and in the South River. For fishing, we surf cast, drop off the bridge, or fish from our kayaks. For the younger kids, it's beach and more beach... then a short walk to the center for some ice cream or other eats. Walk the opposite direction on the beach and enjoy low tide at "The Rocks" where the kids love the tidepools with fish, crabs, snails, starfish and other creatures. Families can enjoy their favorite food and beverages on the beach with plenty of space for corn hole, bocce, frisbee, building castles, looking for rocks and seaglass, and more.

Humarock is a peninsula (some call it an island), accessible from Scituate by boat or from Marshfield by bridge.

Excellent Stay

We stayed here May 18-23, 2023. Great time of year, cool weather. Short walk to the beach. No crowds. Restaurants nearby. Nice, clean house. Would definitely stay again.

Beach Week at Humarock

Clean, spacious rooms accomodating 7 of us comfortably and offering us quick access to the beach. We were able to easily park at the cottage. As an added bonus, the neighbors were very friendly and easy to visit with. The beach was beautiful and water warm enough fir me to swim in 1 day ,kids were in every day.

Kick Back and Relax

We had a terrific vacation in this perfectly positioned home. After a morning walk on the beach we had coffee in the sun on the rear deck. In the evenings it was time for BBQs on the front deck - all with the gentle sound of the sea in the background. Just perfect

2023 Cape Vacay!

The accommodations were as cute and homey as the pictures on the website. The home was very well stocked with kitchen supplies, towels, and outdoor items (beach chairs). Jeff was a gracious host - we had a few questions and he replied with helpful answers promptly. Had a wonderful time and would definitely return!

Great stay at Shore Bet!

Just returned from a week long stay at 'Shore Bet'. The Groves are wonderful hosts! Their property was very clean and tidy, and had everything we needed for our family get together. Jeff was very prompt in replying to any inquiries we had, making check-in a breeze! The location is very close to beach access, and easy to find. We were VERY pleased with our experience at 'Shore Bet' and would definately recommend a stay at this charming beach!

Perfect getaway

Everything was wonderful. The house was comfortable and had everything you could possibly need. The beach access was very close and the kayaking was fabulous. Perfect beach getaway

We had a great beach vacation at Shore Bet. The house is beautiful, clean and has all the amenities we couldā€™ve asked for. The location is perfect, very short walk to the beach and we also enjoyed walking along the river and checking out the trails. Short distance to shopping/restaurants also. Jeff was a great host with great communication. We canā€™t wait to come back next summer!

I stayed here alone for 5 nights and my daughter and grandchildren visited daily. I simply can't express just how perfect every single detail of this mini vacation was. An easy, relaxing (and safe) beach vacation

This was our second year at this home and we already can not wait to get back next summer. We walked into this incredibly clean (smelling and looking) and bright beach cottage and felt immediately relaxed. This home provides all you need to easily access the beach every day, and to be happy and comfortable whether cooking at home or ordering takeout from some great local restautants. Some of our favorite things about this house are the big open kitchen, the outdoor shower, the decks off the front and back to enjoy a coffee or a cocktail on, the beautiful river views and the easy walk to the ocean.

Shore Bet is a sure thing!

We had the most relaxing week in this beautiful home. The house was lovely and clean and exceeded our expectations. The owners responded right away with any questions we had and gave us recommendations for local attractions. The location was ideal, situated between the river and the ocean. Our family had a fantastic time floating down the river and relaxing at the beach. We are looking forward to staying here again!

A perfect beach house

Ana and Jeff's home is perfect for a family, beach getaway in Humarock. Their home is clean, open and has a lot of space to relax after a long day at the beach. The location is ideal as beach access is very close and the road is pretty quiet. The recent updates to the home are beautiful from the bright open, modern kitchen to the comfortable bedrooms and baths. Can't wait to return next summer!
