We Don't Accept Any Male Group Reservations. If reservation is made- it will be cancelled. We don’t accept any MUD Run visitors!

We disinfect our towels and bedding sheets with bleach on the hottest water temperature settings to ensure safety for our guests and their piece of mind.
The cabin also gets a complete and very thorough cleaning.
Check in time is 4 pm, check out time is 11am.
Wooden acreage, Spacious 2-story, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, sleeps 10 in beds based on double occupancy, waterfront

Our secluded property is located on many acres of deep woods with a beautiful one acre pond! A private and fully stocked pond can be seen from the balcony and is a few yards or a short walk from the lodge. There is a canoe on the property , you may enjoy time with your family fishing and riding a canoe. At night you may enjoy having a bonfire, making s'mores, and relaxing with your friends and family. There are numerous activities like ping-pong, volleyball, hiking and biking. Fun activities for all age groups! Railroad trips are offered by Texas State Railroad in Palestine all year round and about 20 minutes from lodge.

Our property is very secluded, thanks to its location in the midst of beautiful piney woods! Privacy is guaranteed; however, you will have a convenience of a city life. Family reunions, corporate events, retreats, and business meetings are welcome! You may just come to spend a weekend! Whatever it is, it's a perfect place to get away from city life and to enjoy being secluded in a quiet oasis.

We keep our property up to date! Besides, you will find coziness in every corner, your family and friends can spread out comfortably throughout the cabin. Inviting and relaxing atmosphere is guaranteed. Extra pillows, sheets and blankets are provided. For extra people in your party, you may find a king size feather bed and a few air mattresses. All our beds are very comfortable and will provide you with the best and the most relaxing sleep!

For your convenience, our kitchen is stocked with all necessary utensils, microwave, toaster oven, Frigidaire Refrigerator, bake ware, and both Keurig and regular coffee makers. Complimentary coffee and condiments are provided.
We also provide towels, toiletries, and a starter kit consisting of soaps, toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags.
You will feel home away from home!
Please do not book for groups larger than 12 .For extra people over 6, additional charge $25 per person per day will be applied at the check-out. In case extra people will be staying without permission and without their identification a charge of $ 500 will be applied without warning.The property has an outdoor camera for the security and protection of our guests.

Kitchen could have been better stocked with cooking utensils. Wrong filters for coffee maker. Not enough paper towels. Upstairs could have been cleaner. Spider webs near beds. My brother-in-law killed a brown recluse spider downstairs. Just a suggestion; each bathroom should be stocked with soap and shampoo. Only one stand up shower. Drawers broken in kitchen and by coffee maker.

Property was as advertised

Our family enjoys the peace, quiet, and beauty that comes with country living. Cozy Retreat provided all of that and more. The grandkids enjoyed fishing in the pond and our grandson caught his first bass! Natalia, the host, checked in advance to make sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Kudos to Cozy Retreat!

Great Country Retreat

Great weekend getaway from the Dallas area. The property is large and wooded with plenty of walkable terrain. The house has a lot of entertaining areas and a great kitchen. The host was responsive and helpful and I’m sure we will be back for a longer stay next time.

Once again, we had a great time here. Ive been coming here for years for my birthday and haven't had one bad experience. Nataliya is a great host and always on top of making sure everything is going well with our stay and very quick to respond. You wont be disappointed. Looking forward to my next stay!

Relaxing Country Getaway

Natalie’s property was the perfect family getaway from the city. We really enjoyed walking out the front door to fishing, canoeing, and nature walks with the kids. Saw plenty of wildlife (deer, beaver, ducks, turtles, etc.) right on the property. The cabin was very clean and well appointed with cooking and cleaning essentials. The only things that weren’t apparent from the listing were that the third bedroom is only accessible through the studio bedroom, and the owner had to come pickup a liability waiver in person. Mentioning for other traveler planning purposes.

Another great stay!

I've been coming here for years and haven't had a bad experience one time. It's very quiet, relaxing and has some great fishing. The host, Nataliya, is so nice and has always been very quick to respond to any questions or issues i may have had. Looking forward to future trips to the property!

The cabin was really nice and well decorated

My family and friends had a great time there, Nataliya was so nice and accomidating. It was very peaceful and loved the fishing...I would've given it 5 stars, but the only negative things were the lack of wifi and a good phone signal...other than that it was great...looking forward to going back.

Awesome vacation and get away !!

Came with a group of 8 and it was a very awesome time we had . The fish were biting well, plenty of room to rest and lots of land to explore and have fun!! Super clean place !! A must see .. I would recommend people of all ages to take the chance to visit and vacation here !

I've been coming to this cabin every year for my birthday since 2015 and I've had a great time every year. The owner, Nataliya, has been so accommodating and just a great host each time. I always look forward to going back...the fishing is always good and haven't had a bad time yet.

Great place to spend with family.

We had a great time, there were 12 of us and the house was perfect. Plenty of room for everyone and everything was clean. Nataliya was a great host, always responded to all my questions in less than 10 minutes. The kids enjoyed so much they wanted to stay longer, we are definitely planning to come back soon.

This was a multi-generational family trip. This property provided a lot of space to stretch out. We really enjoyed the huge family room with the ping pong table. The lake (with canoe) was awesome. Everyone was able to catch fish! We would come here again - very quiet and peaceful.

Gorgeous Scenery!

My colleagues and I were in town for business and decided to stay here so we could enjoy Mother Nature and have time to work together after client meetings in the evenings and over the weekend. This property worked out great for our group!

We had a group of 6 in town to visit family living in Palestine, a 20 minute drive away. We hosted a birthday party, watched Saturday football, and ate in every meal! The property more than adequately held our family group of 11 for our gatherings. Sleeping arrangements were more than adequate. I suspect the house would sleep 12, maybe more, people comfortably. The house is very much like a cabin. My kids said it felt like going to camp! The owner was tuned in to our every need, making our stay very comfortable. Thanks Nataliya!!

Misleading Listing and Unsettling Experience

My family and I stayed here for a getaway, and unfortunately, it was by far the worst vacation rental experience we’ve had. The host called at 8 PM asking if we had arrived. When we got there, a car was parked in the bushes, which made us feel uneasy. Within 10 minutes of entering the home, we heard arguing outside. Then, after 10 PM, the host knocked on the door unannounced, requesting we sign a paper waiver, list all family members, and review house rules. She also began questioning our intentions, including whether we planned to have a fire. It felt invasive and entirely unnecessary at that hour.The back door didn’t properly lock—it only had a chain at the top, which still allowed it to open a visible gap. The home had visible dust, spider webs, heavy mold in the coffee pot, and stained blankets. The upstairs AC panel was locked at 73, which was not disclosed. There was also an outside security camera that was not disclosed as well.The listing claimed 4 bedrooms, but there were only 3 true bedrooms—two connected—and the extra space was not private. The “many acres” were completely overgrown and unusable. Furniture was outdated, and gave the home a neglected, tired feel.Other guests have raised many of these same concerns, which unfortunately we overlooked and the host’s responses were combative, snarky and unprofessional. We came for a peaceful and private stay, but instead experienced late-night confrontation, privacy violations & safety concerns. Do NOT recommend.

Good and Bad

We had a wonderful birthday weekend for my husband's 70th. There were some wonderful things about the property, pros and cons.Location -- wonderful! Secluded county estate, but close to Jacksonville and Palestine.Things to Do -- We fished daily from the pond. The younger members went kayaking on Lake Palestine. We all enjoyed the ping-pong table. There is also a volleyball net, but no volleyball in sight.Check-in -- Very stressful. The owner would not give the gate and door codes until noon on the day of check-in. Since we live 3 hours away, I wasn't able to tell my other two parties the specific information until AFTER they had started the journey. Then, the owner showed up about 5:30 to pick up the liability release. That made me see how distrustful she was of us. At midnight, my granddaughter was awakened by a car, shining its lights on the house. She was actually frightened that someone had breached the gate and was coming for us. I'm sure it was the property owner. But, really? Supplies: The kitchen was great. Everything we needed. We were told not to use the garbage disposal. Well, why have one? (It worked fine.) The towels were thin and old. It took us lots of looking to find the extras. No washcloths! No tissue boxes. We went to town to get those, plus more toilet paper. Features: The master bedroom and all the baths have lots of built-in shelves. Perfect for a traveler! I loved this feature. There were lots of great beds, so the teenagers didn't have to share.
