Escape to The Sea\Board Suite, a serene retreat on 2 acres at the edge of the Back Bay Wildlife Refuge. Enjoy stunning country and pond views from the large living area windows, just 5 miles from Sandbridge Beach and 9 miles from the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, Boardwalk, and Convention Center. This unique location offers easy access to all Virginia Beach attractions while providing a peaceful escape from your wild life!

The cozy bedroom features two Twin XL beds that can be combined into a King with a plush topper upon request. For extra guests, the main living area can accommodate up to two twin fold-out beds (maximum 4 guests).

Step outside to a spacious back yard with a deck, gazebo, fire pit, sitting table, and both gas and charcoal grills, all with views of the property and neighboring ponds. The well-equipped kitchenette includes a Ninja XL Prestige countertop oven (with air fry and baking functions), a 2-burner cooktop, and all essential cookware and utensils.

Stay connected with high-speed internet, cable TV, and streaming sticks, and enjoy provided linens, towels, paper products, and cleaning supplies. Families will love the games and toys (best for ages 2+), with a booster chair and pack-and-play available upon request.

The garage doubles as a hangout space with a dart board, card table, washer, dryer, and full-size fridge/freezer. Beach gear (towels, chairs, coolers) is included, and guests can use the garage for covered parking or secure storage.

Pet owners, bring your furry friends! The property is pet-friendly, with extra bowls and leads provided. We ask that visiting dogs stay leashed until accustomed to the natural surroundings and our friendly chickens, “The Golden Girls,” who free-range for 1-2 hours daily in a well-contained area.

We enjoyed our stay! I booked less than 24hrs from arrival and Jeremiah was super responsive. We decided to take a quick weekend trip and the Seaboard was the perfect option for a few nights. We needed a clean quiet place to sleep while we spent most of the weekend at a nearby friends' house and it was perfect.

This location I would absolutely frequent again!!! The host was beyond accommodating, had everything I needed, easy to work with and it was exactly what I saw, including the yard. While my trip was not for a great escape, I definitely would come back for that great escape!

We needed a little home away from home where we could bring our pets while we visited family for Christmas, and Jeremiah and Victoria’s place was utterly perfect. Quiet, peaceful, and lovely. And set up perfectly for our three dogs, which gave us peace of mind. The bed was so comfortable, and there was great water pressure for showers. We just wish we had more time to spend at the adorable gazebo and fire pit. We did get to feed the hens, aka the Golden Girls! Thank for hosting us!

Jeremy was a wonderful host and the home was perfect for our needs! We are a small family and were very comfortable there for a week. The bed was extra soft and comfy, plus all of the extra amenities provided in the garage were a big help. The property is lovely and great for littles to run around. Highly recommend!

Relaxing getaway

They had everything we needed for our stay and were the most hospitable hosts! The property was beautifully landscaped and had a small chicken coop! We saw deer in the backyard a couple mornings. It’s in the country but very close to local amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there!

Our relaxing time away from home

Our family had a very nice time staying at your place. The place was very quiet and relaxing. It was very clean and had everything you needed at the place. I like seeing the golden girls (the chickens) during the day. Getting around was good. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Wonderful spot for a quiet stay!

While my stay took place in the midst of winter, this was still such a lovely property to enjoy and provided much solitude. My guest and I loved the fire pit and just walking outdoors with my two dogs. The beds were probably the comfiest that I’ve ever slept in! Jeremiah and Victoria were fantastic communicators as well. I did a good bit of work from home here and the Internet connection was rapid speed.

Peaceful getaway

It is a special place away from the busyness of virginia beach boardwalk, yet less than 20 minutes from tourist attractions. The owner takes excellent care of the property inside and out. If you are a bird watcher, this is your place. The owner is friendly, supportive, and thoughtful.

Outstanding is an understatement. Everything you will ever need and more is at hand. The location is amazing, somehow quiet and peaceful in the middle of VB. Close to anything you need and the beach. It was nothing short of awesome, we will be back!!!

A little slice of heaven

Jeremiah and Victoria’s property was tranquil and peaceful which was very needed. My daughter adores chickens and loved being able to see the Golden Hokies every day. We’ve been vacationing in VA Beach for 8 years and I believe this is by far our favorite stay. The hosts were very communicative and I couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you very much for a lovely vacation!

Peaceful and relaxing

We rented to be close to our son and his family while visiting. We chose Seaboard because of its location, it was close to Sandbridge beach also. We loved how peaceful and quiet it was in the country. The fresh chicken eggs were a nice surprise and very appreciated. If we need someplace to stay again we would definitely rent from Shefields again.

The Perfect Getaway

My family and I had a great time staying at the SeaBoard. Hosts Jeremiah and Victoria were very welcoming, on top of every need and provided some wonderful welcoming touches upon our arrival. The seaboard is a super comfortable stay (we were there an entire week) and close to the beaches and endless dining and entertainment options. My family and I frequent the Sandbridge area whenever we have the chance and would certainly love to stay at the seaboard again in the near future. :)

Peaceful stay just outside of the busy city

From beginning to end this was the best rental I have ever experienced. The owners were super accommodating and delightful to work with. The facility was clean and comfortable and everything we needed to have the vacation we wanted was available. The property chickens made the place feel even more like home as they clucked in the early morning and were often seen out and about snacking in the yard. I would stay here again and again and would recommend to all of my friends.
