Located on beautiful Gatehouse Road, next to the Testimonial Gateway. Gatehouse Gardens is a very peaceful and private setting bordering The Mohonk Preserve with outstanding hiking and biking trails.

We are conveniently located, just a mile outside the Village of New Paltz. Outstanding restaurants, shopping, SUNY New Paltz (art gallery and theatre); just minutes away.
We offers amenities not found at most B and Bs, such as a heated swimming pool and hot tub.

The Minnewaska Room is on the second floor. It has a private entrance. large private deck with screened in gazebo and beautiful view of the pond and wildlife.
Large dressing room with vanity. The bathroom is separated from the dressing room and has a beautiful large tile shower.

The Minnewaska Room is our guest's favorite room.

Beautiful property, warm comfortable room

Loved the property, quiet, gorgeous and private, yet very close to downtown New Paltz. The bed was comfortable and room warm and inviting. Check-in/check-out was smooth and friendly. Would definitely recommend and come back

Lovely house outside New Paltz

Gatehouse Gardens is the perfect place to stay when popping around the Hudson Valley. We were well located to visit several vineyards and minnewaska state park, as well as close enough to New Paltz for dinner in town. The pool is icing on the cake!

What a charming apartment

This property is perfect for couples. It has a private entrance, comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom. There's also an outside gazebo just outside the door. (Too chill to use it during out stay.) The hosts were were onsite, which is a plus. I would definitely stay here again if visiting nearby family.

Perfect mountain getaway

Our 2-night stay was wonderful. The location is the perfect gateway to New Paltz and all that Minnewaska State Park and Mohonk Preserve have to offer. The property is lovely. We made use of the pool and grounds; and the screened Gazebo is the best place to enjoy a quiet breakfast or relax after a long day of hiking. Many thoughtful touches from the property owners. I would definitely go back!

Wonderful!

We really enjoyed our stay. The property was as described and pictured in the listing. Rick, our host, met us on arrival and show us all the features our rental had to offer. He was friendly and helpful. The property was very clean and well-maintained. There were many nice personal touches. We really enjoyed the screened in Gazebo and the outdoor space. The hot tub was available to us, but we chose not to use it because it was too chilly outside. We would definitely stay here again.

Amazing gem!

We loved staying at gatehouse gardens! Wonderful location, very close to downtown newpaltz with a beautiful Pool and hot tub! Very relaxing! Owner on premises and available for assistance if necessary! (Although there was nothing we needed) also left fruit, eggs, coffee, milk and wine for us! Thought of everything to make us comfortable! This was our second stay there and we will come again! Highly recommend!

Weekend Escape at Gatehouse Gardens - Minnewaska Room

Our stay at Gatehouse Gardens in the Minnewaska Room was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the spaciousness and comfort of the room. It came with plenty of closet storage, a desk for work, a kitchenette for convenience, and a full bathroom that made us feel right at home.The hosts - Rick and Cindy - went above and beyond by welcoming us with wine and a variety of delicious food options, which made for a delightful touch after our travel. We loved having our own private deck and gazebo—perfect for relaxing under the stars at night and enjoying a peaceful breakfast in the fresh air each morning. The view of the pond added to the serenity of the experience.The surrounding scenery was just breathtaking, with beautiful woods and vibrant flowers that made every step of the property a joy. There was no shortage of entertainment either, from the gorgeous pool and comfy lounge chairs to the grill and hot tub—ideal for unwinding after a day of exploration.The hosts were incredibly attentive, sharing fascinating insights about the region and offering helpful recommendations. It was clear that they genuinely cared about ensuring we had an enjoyable stay.We left feeling completely refreshed and would highly recommend this peaceful retreat to anyone looking to disconnect and unwind in a stunning setting. This room is in a great location near minnewaska for hiking , and the room has its own porch which was really nice The room was clean enough and had mini fridge and microwave.

Great hosts and location

Stayed here for two nights for a wedding at Mohunk. Rick was kind enough to wait up for me to arrive at midnight! Grounds are gorgeous and the room was clean and nice. It’s a flight up with your own entrance and attached to their house.

Private getaway in woods!

Wonderful clean and comfortable place to relax and unwind! Our mother daughter 2 day retreat was perfect especially with the pool and hot tub! The area has plenty to see and do! The host was very nice and accommodating! Just what we wanted!

Perfect location and beautiful property

We were in town to visit Historic Huguenot Street. The location of Rick and Cindy's property was perfect. We walked into town the first evening. The distance was perfectly walkable, and there is a trail that covers more than half the distance. The road was busier than we anticipated, and the section walking along it doesn't have much shoulder, so we got taxis to and from for the rest of our stay. It's a 5 minute/$7 ride ride, and the wait for a cab was never more than about 15 minutes. The property itself is spectacular - green and lush. The room was clean and spacious, and our hosts went to the trouble to stock the fridge with some food in case we were scrambling in the morning. There was a huge thunderstorm, and we sat out in the screened in gazebo to watch the rain and enjoy a glass of wine. We had a terrific stay, and we will definitely look to stay at Gatehouse Gardens again the next time we are in town. Thanks for being such wonderful hosts!

Great Stop Over

I was passing through and a New Paltz alumni so it was a great stop over for me. Safe, clean, private and a great opportunity to visit with some old friends. Great hospitality. Would definitely return for a vacation stop in the future. Rick was a gracious host and very easy to work with. Thanks for sharing your home with me.

Property was beautiful and is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway. Location to New Paltz Main Street is great. Private, quaint and very relaxing. Rick was so nice and very helpful! Highly recommend!

The owner completely listed the property as private and it was not private, he lived on the premises had full view access to you whenever he wanted and we had to share the property with 5 other people, I already have a claim in and have reported this for a full refund

Do you think I was peaking in your room? Get over it! and forget about any refund. You room was entirely private, with private entrance and private bath. Gatehouse Gardens is a very private setting; wooded property, far from the road and no neighbors. Another guest room (also very private from yours) was rented as well. You knew this when you arrived early at 12:00PM. Two hours early from the posted check in time. You had some nerve inviting a friend to come for the day. Most people ask in advance. Did you read the posted rules about glass by the pool. You spent two full days at the pool, drinking beer in glass and left the empties for me. Now expect a refund. Four years and you were one of the worst guest.

Great getaway

This place was wonderful. A lot more spacious than expected and clean. The gazebo was nice and relaxing to sit in and overlook the yard and pond. Close drive to the village and monhonk preserve. Thank you for letting others enjoy your wonderful home
