The whole house A/C and the pool heater were just added. I had some problems with a cleaner, but my new guy is awesome. Together we have scrubbed the entire house. Now if the economy was to become a little more predictable, I would raise the nightly rate. In the meantime, you see some of my recent reviews!

One of the primary attributes of this property is its location near the Grand Hyatt Resort, with a short 7 minute walk to Shipwreck Beach and only 15 minute walk to Poipu Beach down the Green Belt Path. No need to load up the car every time you want to go to the beach, and the hassle of finding parking.

The entire home interior was recently painted and Master bath renovated to be a gorgeous spa environment with jetted tub for two, large shower and dual vanity.
This property is perfect for extended families with three separate suites, each with access to outdoor decks.

Air conditioning in the common area of the home is set for maximum cooling to 75 degrees, with Individual air conditioners in each of the bedrooms for sleeping comfort.

Strong floor plan for private time as well as large spaces for the whole family.

Master Suite with one king bed, second suite with one queen bed, and a third suite with two queen beds.

Private Heated Pool, featuring ...
1) Waterfall that can be heard from most rooms,
2) in pool bench great for unwinding following an event filled day,
3) pool is a great size for kids to have fun, but is not intended for doing laps, (11' x 16') . Access is provided to the Poipu Kai pool, 10 minutes down the greenbelt path for swimming laps.
4) removable security fence to protect young children, with child-proof lock on gate.

With close proximity to the Grand Hyatt, you can enjoy Stevenson's Sushi and Spirits, their cocktail lounge, or nightly entertainment including keiki hula (keiki means 'baby' or 'child' in Hawaiian), and numerous musical groups. The restaurants include Tide Pools (steak and seafood - the best Prime Rib I've ever eaten), Llima Terrace, and Seaview Terrace (cafe and nightly entertainment).

Kevin was very responsive to any requests we had. He was a pleasure to meet and made sure we enjoyed our stay. The pool was an added bonus after a day at the beach. The house was well equipped with beach chairs, umbrellas and lots of beach toys and rafts.

We had a really great stay. It was nice to have the extra beach stuff to use during the trip. The house was so close to the beach and tidepool. Everyone appreciated having their own bathroom and the pool and out door shower was a huge plus.

This large home easily accommodated our family, 5 adults and 2 children. All 3 rooms have a bathroom plus an extra toilet off the kitchen. The pool is a nice size, the children aged 3 and 5 loved it. There are lots of pool toys and life jacket for the little ones. Shipwreck beach is an easy walk from the home and Poipu Beach is not much further. We really enjoyed our stay here.

The home is beautiful, easy to get to and walking distance to the beach. We all enjoyed the home so much that we have shared the listing with three other family’s that saw our vacation on social media and saw how beautiful the house was but how accommodating it was for my elderly parents as well and my 2 year old niece, 4 year old nephew, my 7 year old nephew as well as my brother his wife and I. Amazing stay, do recommend. Easy walk to the beach and easy access to the main roads.

We loved our stay! The home is just a few minutes from Poipu Beach, restaurants and shopping which was very convenient. Our family really appreciated all the beach toys and gear! It was nice to come home to our own little oasis in the backyard after a long day of swimming/snorkeling and exploring. The home is very clean, has all the amenities you would want and the owner is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Mahalo! :)

One bathroom didn’t look to be cleaned. Dishwasher needs to be properly attached to counter. The home was very comfortable. Linens and towels were great.Owner was very helpful ( especially helping us figure out A/C.Overall a very good experience. Thanks Kevin

We liked it so much we came back.

The layout of this home is perfect for our crew. Four daughters stay together in the room with two queens. The pool is an excellent amenity allowing us to spend mornings at the beach and afternoons napping and poolside. We came three years ago and like it so much we came back. We also appreciate access to the walking path to the Grand Hyatt. We used beach chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear, and boogie boards from the house. We are looking forward to our third trip.
We walked to the Grand Hyatt property at least once a day.

We had the most amazing time at this home. Everyone room had an en-suite bath. The home was well equipped with everything you may need. The property is gorgeous and very private. Kevin is the owner of the property and lives nearby. I’m pretty sure he is a real life Angel! We had some issues with flight cancellations, car rental closed, and Kevin came to our rescue. We will definitely be back!

Mostly suitable cor families

Some items in the house need to be secured and could be dangerous for children staying in the home. It could also use a deep clean undwr/behind some of the furniture it was a great location with lots of stuff cclose by for stroller walking and we had lots of funin the pool! thhome. It could also ise some deep lwa.

Family vacation.

Close walk to beaches and some restaurants. House was big and spacious. Host was easy to deal with and very accommodating. Has all the essentials needed. Big back yard. House does have some deferred maintenance that doesn’t interfere with stay.

Great layout and amenities for a group

This property was great for our friends group getaway. Plenty of room to socialize or have privacy. We loved the tiny exquisite pool and drinks on the deck overlooking it. Location is ideal to walk to beaches, restaurants, and large resort pool. As others have mentioned there is a bit of deferred maintenance and traffic noise (as the main road is on the other side of a wall), but neither bothered us much. Kevin was extremely responsive and accommodating.

Perfect Getaway

We always enjoy our time in Kauai but this time we decided to book a house on the south side of the island. The house was in the perfect location with a quick walk down to the shore each morning to view the sunrise over the water. The cliffside made a perfect path for a morning jog down to Poipu Beach to see the turtles and monk seals. The kids enjoyed splashing around in the pool to relax after a long day at the beach or hiking. We can’t recommend the rental enough!!

Great Beach House

This house was wonderfully located close to the main beaches we wanted to visit regularly (Shipwreck, Poi Pu, Baby Beach). There was plenty of space for all the adults and children. Kevin was very hospitable and responsive to our questions. The house had many maintenance issues that need to be addressed, but we did not let them ruin our time on Kaui.

Nice property. Had a great stay.

Very nice property close to several beaches, restaurants, and shopping. Plenty of room for our family of 5. The owner/host was very friendly and helpful when we had questions. The private pool, although small, was very nice and enjoyable. And there were plenty of beach and pool toys and items available for use. The only downside was that it was located next to a very busy street and the traffic noise was a little loud at times. But the bedrooms were quiet so it didn’t affect anyone’s sleep.

Kauai Vacation

This was truly an Amazing Family experience ❤️. This home was perfect for my Adult children and grandchild. More than enough room for everyone!! This kitchen has everything you need for Family meals. I ❤️ the tiki glasses too!! The pool was awesome for our family's happy hour!! Kevin was an amazing host who responded within 5 min of messaging. Thanks again 🙏❤️⛱️

Our wonderful trip

the house is beautiful, roomy with a bathroom for each bedroom. Lots of privacy. Kevin was very responsive - came and cleaned the grill for us. There were no lamps in the living room which meant we had to bring them out from bedrooms The little pool was just right for our young swimmers and the community pool not too far away. It was a short easy walk to the beach

Can't wait to return!

Our stay at this Poipu gem of a property was absolutely phenomenal and exceeded all our expectations! From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home and relaxed. The perks of this property are truly exceptional, starting with the rare heated pool. It was an absolute luxury to be able to enjoy a comfortable swim morning, noon, or night, regardless of the weather – a feature we truly appreciated.The whole-home AC was another incredible bonus, keeping us cool and comfortable throughout our stay, especially during the warmer parts of the day. We also loved the privacy and convenience of on-suite bathrooms for every bedroom; it made getting ready a breeze and provided everyone with their own personal space. And for those who love to cook or just stock up, the extra fridge in the garage was an unexpected but incredibly useful amenity.Beyond the fantastic amenities, the property itself was beautiful, well-maintained, and offered a true sense of privacy and tranquility. We honestly can't wait to return to this little slice of paradise. A special shout-out to our host, Kevin, whose promptness in communication and attentiveness made our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you for a truly memorable Hawaiian getaway!

Beautiful Home

This is an amazing home. The private pool was such a bonus as one grandchild was not a real beach fan. The house is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Kevin the owner was very accommodating. We called with a small issue with one of the bedrooms AC units and he came right over to fix it. If your going to Kaua’i this is definitely the home you want to stay in. We can’t thank you enough Kevin for your kindness.

Loved it

We stayed for a week with our three young adult / teen children. The bedrooms, each with their own bath, were clutch! This was a great home base for exploring the whole island, and it's a good location for walking the Poipu Beach area as well. Everything about the property is well-maintained, easy to use. Kevin was very responsive to our questions. The bedrooms are air-conditioned and comfortable. We slept well. The main living area was a bit hot in the afternoon, but opening up the windows and running the fans was enough to make it comfortable.

Beautiful house and amazing locatioN!

We had a really wonderful stay here in early November 2017. We were here on a family vacation as three families (my parents, my wife and I, and my brother, sister-in-law and niece). The location is really amazing for the property - it's walking distance from a few Poipu beaches, a couple of nice resorts (Grand Hyatt and Sheraton), and a great cafe (Little Fish). Additionally, it was less than 10 minutes away from multiple local shopping centers in Koloa (including food options) and within 30 minutes of Lihue. All the activities we booked were easily accessible from Koloa and the weather was pretty good overall in this part of the island (not too warm/dry and not too wet). The house itself is overall in great shape, though does have a few cosmetic oddities (missing baseboards and such). The pool wasn't really heated (slightly disappointing given that it was advertised prominently on the VRBO page), but that didn't really bother my niece as she loved jumping in. There's only A/C in the bedrooms, which was a bit concerning for us when we arrived because the house was extremely stuffy and warm, but the weather drastically improved after the first day and with the windows open the house got much cooler. A/C is still a must in the bedrooms for nighttime comfort and was initially broken in 2 of the 3 rooms. A very nice man (the owner, maybe?) did come by and set up a temporary A/C in one room and fixed some lights in the master bathroom. Afterward, when we reported the A/C not to be working in the third room (it was pushing out air, but the air was not very cold at all so it was having to work quite hard constantly), we received no response from Jannli. This was a little off-putting but was not a huge deal so we didn't push it further. The kitchen is overall a good shape - very basic pots/pans/knives/spices, but it was sufficient for breakfast and some grilling. We brought our Fire TV stick and had no problem setting that up in the main room. And the patio on the top floor is really wonderful - we spent a lot of time up there in the evenings. If you're ok with a bit of road noise in the living space and not having central air, this is a great home to vacation in.

Lovely house

Overall really positive, fun experience. Some pros: lots of comfortable beds and private rooms (great for a family or several couples/ adults), beautiful and convenient location, well stocked with everything we needed. Some cons: traffic noise, solar heated pool = unheated pool, air conditioners in the bedrooms weren’t set up (my husband had to download an owners manual and program them), and the main house got pretty toasty in the daytime even with open windows and fans. Overall though, great time!

Mele Lani is located in the quiet enclave of Bayview Estates, part of the Poipu Kai area of Poipu. The home is only two blocks from the Grand Hyatt and just a little further to Shipwrecks Beach in one direction, and a 12 to 14 minute walk to Breneke's Beach, and Poipu Beach in the other. In both cases you walk is on a beautifully maintained green belt that stretches from the Grand Hyatt to Poipu Beach.

Absolutely, the view of the Poipu Crater is straight on and beautiful!

We love the vaulted wood ceilings, the three private suites and the sliding doors off each bedroom to the outdoor spaces. The house is so open.
