This lovely historical home is ideal for couples or smaller groups. ☆ Be anywhere downtown in less than 5 min ☆ Highway access just 2 minutes away ☆ Free Private Parking ☆ Washer/Dryer ☆ Walk to Coffee, breweries, and restaurants When you stay in the historical 4th and Gill neighborhood, you’ll enjoy walking past dozens of early 1900’s architectural masterpieces. This downtown neighborhood shares many roads that lead directly to Knoxville entertainment and food districts. Our beautifully restored rental was constructed in 1899 by well known historical architect, George Barber! Those of you who love historic homes will enjoy the original aspects of the home that we were able to retain throughout the restoration process. Original hardwood floors, stained glass windows, fireplace mantle, door knobs and hinges... Post renovation, you will find the space to be a good mix of old and new, tastefully updated with modern touches and amenities. Still, we love to daydream about all of the life that has been lived in this home over the last century! Although this home is a duplex, both entrances are completely private with no shared spaces, so all mentioned areas will be available just for you. The duplex has an upstairs unit and a downstairs, ground floor unit. You are currently viewing the upstairs unit. All rooms in the home let the natural sunlight in, which makes for peaceful mornings and presents a charming ambiance when getting ready for an evening out. Of course you can always close the curtains for those moments when you feel like taking a power nap or sleeping in :-) There are 2 bedrooms with a total of 3 queen beds with top-quality mattresses, pillows, and linens to provide you with the greatest nights of sleep. You’ll also find plenty of storage space to unpack. In the living room, you’ll also find a stylish and comfortable couch. In front of the sofa, you’ll find the Flat-screen TV ready to connect to any of your personal, favorite streaming applications, making it the perfect spot to have some popcorn and plan a fun movie night. The cozy kitchen is completely packed with all the necessary amenities to cook all your meals, from the simplest breakfasts or snacks, to elaborate gourmet dinners. Stainless steel appliances include a refrigerator, stove with oven, and microwave. All the necessary kitchenware and tableware provided along with some spices to make your cooking easier. A lovely counter height dining table with chairs works perfectly to enjoy your meals together while contemplating what else the day might bring. And, if you are coming to Knoxville for work or need to do some work while traveling, there is high speed wifi ready to connect from anywhere in the home. Finally, the 2 elegantly remodeled full bathrooms are fully equipped with the necessary toiletries. The master bathroom has a shower and the hall bathroom has a clawfoot tub, complete with a shower installation. You’ll find a washer and dryer convenient for your laundry needs, and an iron and ironing board are available, as well. Other guests may be occupying the lower level. There are no shared spaces between the upstairs and downstairs units. Host is available to guest if needed. This property is located in Knoxville Tennessee United States. Walk past dozens of beautiful homes to many of Knoxville's staple restaurants, breweries, and coffee shops such as K-Brew Coffee, Elkmont Exchange Brewery and Restaurant, Central Filling Station Food Truck Park. There are 2 designated parking spaces located in the back of the property for your car. However major car sharing services, such as Uber or Lyft, are easily accessible and can take you almost anywhere downtown in 7 minutes or less. Enjoy a 0.5 mile walk through the neighborhood to several restaurants, breweries, and coffee shops on N Broadway. There is a tv with streaming capability, available for you to log on to your personal streaming subscriptions. We do not offer paid cable or streaming. There is a flight of stairs required to go up to the apartment, so may not be the best fit for small children, or anyone who may have difficulty climbing stairs. No pets or animals allowed, No smoking of any kind permitted and No parties. You may hear a train during your stay.

I am very sorry that this was your experience, Cassondra. The cleaners reached out to me to let me know that it was taking them a long time to get all of the confetti up from the previous guests, because it was EVERYWHERE. They thought that they had gotten all of it, but apparently had not. Our cleaners have provided excellent, quality services to us, and I feel confident that the rest of the house was clean for you. I apologize that you still encountered confetti. remnants. My sincere apologies!

Older home in not so great location

This is an older home with some charm and nicely decorated. However, I do not feel the reality of the 4th and Gill neighborhood matches the description in the listing. It’s mostly an industrial area with not much around other than train tracks that were close enough to disturb our sleep. In general, I would not recommend this location. The house itself was acceptable with good space and fairly well appointed. The property manager was very responsive and promptly took care of two housekeeping items that we raised.

Inside was good, neighborhood was not so good

Doors did not close properly. Sidewalk was broken and uneven. Neighbor would rev his truck at 530-6 every morning. Construction is going on and you will hear it. With hammer beating and saws constantly running. It is a 5 minute drive to downtown. It was and old house nothing luxurious. Tried to cancel this booking since it was not as described and book somewhere else, but the owner would not refund. Won’t return to this house.

Donald, I am very sorry to hear that you felt this way. You wanted to cancel on the day of arrival, and the refusal of refund was well within the terms of the cancellation policy. You were unkind and rude in your communication over the phone, so I was kind of expecting this. You are the very first person to complain about construction noise across the street, and the bulk of the louder things have been done long before your stay. This truly feels like a retaliatory review and it is honestly disappointing. We have a ton of great reviews on both booking platforms so this really doesn't add up. I am sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay. We left you good reviews because you treated the space well in spite of your frustration with the inability to receive a full refund. It is an unfortunate situation all the way around.

Adorable apartment! The floorplan was a little unusual, but that's what I really liked about it. One bedroom/ensuite bathroom was just off the living room. The other bedroom and separate bathroom were down the hall near the kitchen. So it felt like there was a lot of privacy by having the two bedrooms separated from each other. Place was spotlessly clean and well-stocked with the essentials.
