Swimming, fishing, water sports – Lake Dobbertin offers countless opportunities for relaxing and active holidays. We recommend a trip on the passenger ship "MS Condor" on Lake Dobbertin, because if you're lucky, you might spot white-tailed eagles, kingfishers, otters, and cormorants fishing. Be sure to also visit Dobbertin Monastery, a listed historical site and a popular meeting place for day-trippers and art lovers. It was founded by Benedictine monks long ago, in 1220. From May to September, guided tours of the monastery grounds take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 3:00 pm. Adjacent to the monastery is a park with some valuable trees, through which an educational trail leads. In the monastery café with its lake view, you can treat yourself to coffee, cake, ice cream, or a light snack. Visitors can also get a glimpse of the work done by the residents in the workshops.
