The peaceful location on the Mönchgut peninsula is just the right place to recharge your batteries for everyday life.

The traditional farming and fishing village of Groß Zicker nestles against the picturesque Zicker Mountains on one side, while the vast Baltic Sea lies on the other. The beauty of the setting is reflected in the village’s idyllic layout. Many thatched-roof, traditional houses—lovingly restored—stand with their beautiful gardens on either side of the village street, which has retained its original character. A real eye-catcher is the historic parish widows’ house with its magnificent flower garden. Built around 1700, it is the oldest residential building on the island of Rügen. For over 100 years, it served as a residence for parish widows, and later as a school building. Today, it is a popular museum and is used for small art exhibitions. After all these years, it is still owned by the church.
The village’s location at the foot of the Zicker Mountains is attractive to residents and vacationers alike. On long hikes through the mountains, you can enjoy new, breathtaking views of the mountains, the Baltic Sea, and Rügen’s Mönchgut Peninsula at almost every bend in the trail.
The expansive beach is only about 2 kilometers from the Inselwind apartment building.
