On beautiful School Section Lake the overlooking the island with great northern pines and hundreds of acres of county property leaving a spectacular view. Our property has several mature trees to find the shade and plenty of open space to enjoy the sun. The large deck has Clearview windows that obstruct nothing from outside or inside the home. A spacious ranch style home with all the amenities you will need. Patios with relaxing, comfortable cushion chairs and umbrella. Fire pit for those special evenings. And then there is the fishing! Over 6000 Walleye have been planted in addition to bluegill, sunfish, crappies, bass, and pike.

*MINIMUM 5 NIGHT STAY during summer months

Great place for family fun on the water. I have family in this area and plan on coming back here. Clean, comfortable, spacoius and not overly pretentious. Late night loon calls a bonus. We don't have those back at home.

Family vacation

Great beach and lake. They have so many floats and sand toys for kids to play with. We really enjoyed our stay at the lake house. Perfect space for 5 adults and 5 kids (3 of them were 3 and under). Would love to rent again!

Perfect getaway

We really enjoyed staying here and it’s our third time! The place was immaculate upon our arrival and Bryan is a great host. It’s a very relaxing and beautiful setting to kick back and enjoy time with your family. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Lake

A great home for a family to make summer memories and enjoy lake living. The owner was still preparing for summer after outside improvements. The deck needed power washed yet but still a great location.

Tranquil scenery, relaxing atmosphere. However cost vs value is way off. Property is in desperate need of upgrade - inside/out. Odor of mothballs throughout during entire stay was unpleasant. Front door ring cam activated to watch/listen your everymove. Also need to be aware of motion activated Siri above kitchen/foyer corridor. Garbage piled up in garage from previous guests, fire pit full with garbage in it ( non-burnable items ), storage room below for lake items was a mess, icing on the cake was a power loss for 6 hours on SAT night. Suggest to set aside a percent of all the rental income you make on this property and reinvest in it.

Family vacation

The property worked well for us. We did have a few concerns. A metal/cement pole near the garage was broken off at the base falling over leaving a sharp jagged piece of steel exposed. It was reported to property owner but not addressed. There were bags of garbage piled up in the garage. Grass needed cutting, exterior could use some care and a good power washing. The storage area for outdoor toys, water sports was stuffed full and potentially dangerous as there was stuff everywhere. We had to move things to get what we needed. Lastly, two days before checkout the lake was treated for weeds and we were unable to go in the water. Part of our party left early as their child could no longer swim. Owner told us to find a part of the lake that wasn’t treAted. I was not willing to swim in a chemically treated lake. Overall we enjoyed our family time together but these areas need to Be addressed.

Third Year Renter

2020 was our third year renting this lake house. Our party consisted (at most times) of 4 adults and 3 children. The lake house is spacious with ample room for our entire party. The deck overlooking the lake is great for grilling and beautiful scenery. School Section is a smaller lake, which is perfect if you want to avoid larger high traffic lakes. Overall, the location and price is perfect for us. A few suggestions that would make the experience top notch: 1) replace the fire pit, which may have already been done in 2021 after our stay 2) replace the small garbage can in kitchen with a full size (13 gallon) can 3) replace some of the older towels and pillows 4) ensure one of the paddle boats is on site and working properly. I believe the umbrella base is damaged and needs to be replaced as it was quite unsturdy. I did notice in 2020 that cleanliness of the cottage was not up to par from previous years. We also had an issue where the septic had to be emptied. I will say the owner is quick to respond and address any issues. Overall, I give it four stars and we are continuing our tradition and returning in 2022!

It was a beautiful stay! We enjoyed multiple boat rides with the pontoon rental and did lots of fishing. The view was lovely and the house was very stocked.

One of our best Labor Day weekend’s ever. Bryan was very easy to get ahold of and always very helpful. The place was perfect for the 4 of us. We enjoyed swimming, boating lounging by the fire and basically everything about this place. We will definitely be back.

we had a great time as a family of eight

we stayed at this property for 3 nights. it had all the amenities we needed, and all the items were stocked. we really enjoyed the kayaks and the regular boat. when we got there we noticed that the glass table top was broken on the patio but Bryan sent someone out to clean the glass. but overall we really enjoyed our trip and we hope to rent this place again in the future. a few things we had noticed that need some attention or fixing. -The pillow covers were clean but the inside pillow had either sweat stains or urine -both the futons' covers/sheets were very dirty and with stains. -one of the futons was broken so we couldn't use it -The bedroom TV didn't work at all

Spacious, clean and comfortable

Pontoon was ready to go, timely email for check in, clean and comfortable, with plenty of room for two couples. Didn’t take long to make ourselves at home!

Wonderful memories made

The cottage was clean, spacious with modern appliances. It had everything we needed in the kitchen. However the deck and beach is where we spent all our time. My 2 grandsons, 5&6, spent all their time in the water. Clean swim area and beach. My family enjoyed fishing off the dock and in the pontoon, available for an extra fee. Owner provided many outdoor seating choices. We had such a great time everyone wants a return visit next year with mire days.

Great stay for golf trip

House is a little outdated but it was perfect for our guys golf weekend. Great location near Tullymoore and St. Ives. Caught some fish off the dock. Really enjoyed it. The host is very responsive and accommodating. Thanks

Rainy and relaxing

The property location was easy to find, a beautiful location. Unfortunately it was cold, windy and rainy all weekend. The house was very clean, warm and comfortable. We stay up late every night talking over our experiences of the day with our best friends. Never got to go outside to use or look at the lake. We went east one day to Tony's I-75 restaurant and then to Frankenmuth. Highly recommend both places. The next day we went to the West coast to see some lighthouses, we had a great day. Monday on the way home we stopped in Holland to shop and sightsee. The location of the house was perfectly located for short day trips. We always ate locally and never had a bad meal. Thanks for opening up your house for us, our goals were all met this weekend. Had a great time! I did struggle with the door locks a couple times, but we did manage. Hopefully we can come back again sometime during the warmer months. Thanks again, we had a great time!! Kevin & Rhonda

Peaceful lake house

Our Family is from Lansing and Grand Rapids, MI. We love Michigan. Summer time at the lake has given us our best memories. We are so excited to have our kids and Grandkids spend time with us to provide them with the special memories they will have.

We have also been renters for many years. In 2003 we rented on School Section Lake and it became one of our favorite lake's in Michigan. When we realized this year we could finally get our lakefront property this is the ONLY lake we looked at. We love it that much. We finally made the decision to purchase this property because we were struck with the incredible view. We are directly across from this gorgeous colorful island with nothing but mature trees. And beyond that you see the hundreds of acres of county land that is free of cabins and left as nature intended it to be. We also realized quickly this is a home. It is beautiful and fully equipped with everything you need. You only need to bring your clothes, food and drink and plan on having everything else already here. The lake is special. It is well maintained by the Association for weed control, the clearest water around and this incredible 'up north feel'. It has character with the island, peninsulas and amazing mature pines. There is a county park on the lake that has an amazing swimming area and walking trails. However this is still a semi-private lake. The lake only allows boats with motors less than 10hp. We as property owners can have as we please. And this courtesy is extended to you if you choose to bring a boat or Jet Ski.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

We don't want your experience to stop at the end of the dock. We have kayak's, paddle boat and swim platform. You can also bring your own boat or rent a pontoon if desired. The semi-private lake keeps boat traffic down. The morning, late evening no-wake's and all sports during the day it the perfect balance of peaceful cruising, fishing and the fun of an all-sports lake when you just want to get out and enjoy the water and the sun.
