This quaint and cozy Kings Beach cabin is the perfect retreat for a petite family trip to Tahoe.

• MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY:
NIGHTTIME: 5 Persons TOTAL INCLUDING CHILDREN
****Nighttime occupancy begins at 9 pm****
DAYTIME: 7 Persons TOTAL INCLUDING CHILDREN

• PET POLICY: Pets are negotiable with rules and an additional fee of $50 (plus tax) PER PET PER STAY. All pet fee(s) may not be included in the total price shown for your booking and will be automatically added and/or requested separately.

• NO A/C: Like 99% of homes here in Lake Tahoe, this property DOES NOT have air conditioning, but fans are provided.

• PARKING: Limited to 3 vehicles (fewer when snow conditions exist). Street parking is never permitted.

• DISCLOSURES: MINIMUM Renter Age Requirement: 21 years. NO SMOKING.

Home has 2 bedrooms and 1 full bathroom with shower/tub combo. Home has a new comfy couch and gorgeous new flooring as well as a SMART TV plus Blu-Ray player (No cable/satellite) in the living area. There is also wireless internet access available for guest use.

The dining nook features a collapsible and portable wooden table and 4 chairs to maximize the space when not in use while allowing you to choose your dining scenery. Just past the pony wall, you will find a smaller yet efficient and fully stocked kitchen. The kitchen sink overlooks the front yard while the electric stove neighbors a door to the exterior side yard with a propane grill and patio furniture (Seasonal amenity). The kitchen also houses a full-sized washer and dryer.

Just down the hall on the right, you will find a Lodgepole king bed with a new dreamy Memory Foam mattress in the large Primary bedroom. To the left, is another Lodgepole bed but this one holds a full bed on the bottom and a twin-sized bed on top. You will also find plenty of extra blankets in this bedroom's closet.

Grab a novel from the bookcase and cozy up on the couch or take a short walk into downtown Kings Beach where you'll find shops, restaurants, recreation areas, and the largest sandy beach on Tahoe's North Shore. The home also has a single car garage where you can keep your vehicle away from the elements.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is in a great location, a short walk to the beach and the many shops and restaurants in Kings Beach. It’s nothing fancy and could use more light but it was ideal for our getaway.

Best bed award!

The house was basic. Clean. No coffee filters for the coffee pot - that was odd. Bring flat filters. The king size bed in the main room was easily one of the most comfortable mattresses we’ve had! Location is great. About a 10 minute walk to the town/beach. Unfortunately Kings Beach town and neighborhood are showing a bit of “wear.”

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My son, his wife and our 19. Month old grandson stayed at Racoon Shanty in Kings Beach. The pictures online did not reflect the space. The kitchen is small and cramped and the cabinets don’t close. The entire cabin is very dark, good for sleeping but also dark during the day. The carpet is not clean and they have covered it with a rug that doesn’t fit. This makes it difficult to get in and out of the door. There are some child safety issues. There is a large wall unit that is not attached to the wall. Also the blinds have long cords, these would be easy Walmart fixes. Although there is a yard, it is not fenced as advertised and there is a unsightly garbage pile next door. A gallon of paint and some T:LC would make this a very convenient and comfortable cabin.

Great location

Location and ease of access were great. The property itself is iffy. We walked into very dirty and stained carpet. I even got the vacuum out to try to clean the carpet so I felt a little better about my son playing on the floor with his cars. A tack strip for the carpet is exposed going into the smaller bedroom and I covered it with an extra rug to protect our feet. There is a large amount of mold and staining around most of the windows and especially in the smaller bedroom. Toward the end of our visit I flipped the switch to turn on the light in the smaller bedroom and it started smoking and buzzing. This was very concerning. My mother had to sleep sideways in the large bed because the mattress is so worn she was sleeping in a groove otherwise. The shampoo/conditioner/body wash storage had previously fallen and were broken. I went to use the microwave and found leftover chicken from the previous people. The roof had not been shoveled and I was really concerned about the snow and ice falling on my truck. It seemed like the cleaners or owners could take some more time.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Delapetated shanty that is not actually fenced. Urine stains on toilet as if not actually cleaned after last guest left. There are multiple loose tiles in the bathroom that are a tripping hazard and the bathroom also has an ant infestation. The front and backyards have 3-4 foot tall weeds growing everywhere. They did not actually send me the key code for the front door and had to call to get in touch with someone numerous times. The door also only unlocks about 50% of the time and was very frustrating to use. There was dog poop and pee in the garage when we first arrived. The house has no a/c and only one tiny fan to use and the house gets very hot in the afternoon, almost like a sauna. The only saving grace of the property was the location 4 blocks from the beach. Would not stay here again or recommend it, but if it's a last-resort option, you'd probably be able to manage for a few days.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was functional and was fine for a few days for our family of 4. The bedrooms and bathroom were comfortable and clean. The bunk bed was a little wobbly. The kitchen was fine, but without a dishwasher, I pulled out several pots that were not totally clean. The dishes were not dried before being put in the cabinet and I pulled out dishes to eat on that were dripping wet. There were sheets in the dryer and the washing machine when we arrived - they were extras that I guess the cleaning company did not finish putting away. The carpet in the front room had a lot of stains and the couch in the front room was super small. I appreciated the app that provided the check-in and out information. I did try to email and call the rental company with questions and did not get a response. The location was great; 15 minutes from Northstar and within walking distance to the lake. Overall our experience was good but I will not stay here again.

Comfortible for a short stay

Comfortable cabin, adequate room for a small family. The street noise was pretty loud, unfortunately. The backyard is not completely fenced, which is important if you have a dog. Property manager was nice to let us have early arrival and late departure.

Fully fenced yard would've been perfect for our dog, we made do with a leash though. Only upgrade inside that should be made is better seating. Very comfortable stay,besides the lack of comfy chairs. Didn’t have any issues so we never needed to call the host. Wonderful little getaway. Got to escape SoCal temps for a week.

Nice area

We love to stay in cabin and enjoyed ski and snowboard nearby Northstar resorts ski. All so good for bedrooms, kitchen and shower for us. We put recycles of water bottles it is not sure of garbages. You could post of recycled of garbages. Thanks

Rough but Redeamable

Clunky getting into the property- no after hours assistance had me moments from sleeping in my truck- property management company communicated, followed up and discounted the rate for the mistake. The cabin is great- definitly well worn and old but well appointed and clean. Septic back up on the last day.. property management again stepped up to deal however it meant no shower for me on my final day there.

Lovely little cabin

My wife, mother-in-law, infant daughter and puppy all stayed at this cabin. It is a wonderful rustic place. The location is great and we hiked from the cabin and also walked to nice restaurants, bars and shops. I will say that the backyard isn't fully fenced in, but that was okay with our dog because weren't going to let him go running wild in the snow anyway.

The place is a bit on the old side but does its job. There's a bit of old house smell. Pretty space-y for what it is. The furnitures are great. The kitchen can use a bit of update. Especially the cooking utensil and stove. But again , they are all working fine and we didn't have any issue. Bathroom is great since i think that's been renovated compare to the rest of the place

Coffee maker top was broken but functional. Master bed was very comfortable but seating in the cabin was not. Used the yard chairs for sitting inside.No counter space in bathroom to set a curling iron, toothbrush, or makeup bag.Location was a few blocks from the park so easy walking distance.Would have been nice to use the kayak, and have a fenced area for pets.Arranged for early check-in. Not communicated to staff - guy was finalizing check when we arrived.

Small house near Kings Beach

We loved that the house was within walking distance of Kings Beach. It had everything we needed including plenty of towels and washer/dryer. You don’t get much cross-ventilation from the windows but small fans are provided.

Perfect small place for our family!

We had such a great time. Nice clean small place. Walking distance to kings beach! Even left our computers at the house and the rental staff was very helpful!!
