The historic thatched-roof estate Witthüs was known in the 1970s as an “artists’ hangout.” In 1995, it was converted into an apartment building with a total of 19 country-style apartments—one of which is the Wattschnecke apartment.
Its light-filled living space, featuring a kitchenette and a small dining area, is designed to be exceptionally cozy with plenty of wood, natural tones, and charming details—perfect for putting your feet up after a long day at the beach. The beach chair on the small (southwest-facing) terrace directly in front of the apartment also offers a lovely alternative. One flight of stairs down, in the basement, you’ll find the bedroom with its comfortable double bed and the all-white shower room. If you’re looking for even more “wellness,” you can use the complex’s large communal sauna free of charge.

The historic thatched-roof estate Witthüs is centrally located on the island in the heart of Wenningstedt. The Meyer delicatessen and bakery are right nearby. The beach is a convenient 10–12-minute walk away.
